Chapter 304: Chapter 291: Is the Singing Useful?

Three years?

Qiao Sang was shocked.

Beast Tars who entrusted their Pet Beasts to the Pet Beast Training Hall usually did so for daily, weekly, or at most, monthly care; she had never heard of anyone committing to sothing for years!

And this was for three years!

Three whole years!

How many sets of three years does a person even have?

For sothing like a low-level Pet Beast, there aren’t that many sets of three years to begin with!

If Lubao had not evolved, it would be gone after just two sets of three years plus one more year, which would directly occupy half of its brief life!

No normal Beast Tar could ever do such a thing!

“No visits for three years?” Qiao Sang couldn’t help but ask in detail.

“Hmm,” Liu’s dad nodded and said, “To be exact, it’s actually been almost three and a half years. The custody fee has been paid annually, but he hasn’t visited even once during that ti.”

Great, even longer than three years.

“Could it be that the person is no longer around?” Qiao Sang guessed.

From her point of view, aside from the person being gone, she really couldn’t understand what reason a Beast Tar would have for not visiting their Pet Beast in three years.

Upon hearing this, Liu’s dad’s mouth twitched as he said, “He’s still alive and lives just two kiloters away in Skyview No. 1. He actually returns every year for the New Year; he just never cos to see the Sharpened Fighter.”

Qiao Sang realized she was wrong as soon as she asked.

If a Beast Tar were no longer around, even if separated by tens of thousands of miles, the contracted Pet Beast would surely sense it instantly. The Sharpened Fighter wouldn’t be foolishly waiting here for its Beast Tar like it is now.

Initially, Qiao Sang’s second guess was that the Sharpened Fighter’s Beast Tar might have encountered so trouble that prevented him from returning, but it turned out he ca back every year.

This made Qiao Sang sowhat unable to understand. She frowned and then asked, “Why?”

Perhaps it was the girl’s deanor, not that of an immature high school student, that made Liu’s dad montarily forget she was a minor after their conversation.

Moreover, he himself wanted to vent.

Liu’s dad paused for a mont before saying, “The Beast Tars who entrust their Pet Beasts here mostly live in the vicinity. I haven’t had much contact with the Sharpened Fighter’s Beast Tar, but I’ve occasionally heard people ntion him.”

“That guy made it big a few years ago, contracted a Pet Beast from the Fairy Series in the Secret Realm, and then devoted all his energy to that Pet Beast, neglecting the ones he had contracted before.”

“I’ve heard from others that the relationship between that Fairy Series Pet Beast and the Sharpened Fighter wasn’t good. Later, the Sharpened Fighter got injured during a battle and was not treated in ti, resulting in complications. Even after recovery, it beca difficult to train at high intensity without risking recurrence of the injury.”

“So the guy sent the Sharpened Fighter here. Judging by the fact that he hasn’t visited in over three years, it seems the Sharpened Fighter has been abandoned.”

“So people are like that. When they have multiple Pet Beasts and prefer so over others, the rest seem redundant.”

“But once contracted, there’s no helping it. They don’t want to put in the effort to take care of them, so they send them sowhere.”

“Like here.” Liu’s dad’s emotions beca more evident as he spoke: “Anyway, as long as the Pet Beasts are alive and don’t affect them, that’s fine. If they evolve, even better, it’s just a matter of spending so money. They never think about what a Beast Tar ans to the Pet Beasts after the contract!”

Qiao Sang remained silent, rely tightening her grip on Lubao slightly.

Lubao made a distressed face but did not struggle to break free or make a sound to remind her. It just looked up at Qiao Sang, who was oblivious to its thoughts, and cleared its throat.

“Lubao…”

“Xun Xun!”

Xiao Xunbao beside her instantly showed a frightened expression. It quickly tugged at its Beast Tar’s hair with its claws.

Stop zoning out! Sothing big is happening!

Qiao Sang snapped back to reality, rubbed the spot on her head that had been tugged, and winced, asking, “What’s wrong?”

“Xun!”

Xiao Xunbao shook a claw at Lubao and called out.

As soon as it finished calling, Lubao had already opened its mouth:

“Lubao—lulu lulu—lululu—lu—lululu—”

“Xun!”

Qiao Sang: “!!!”

What the hell! Why are you suddenly singing?! And why does it sound so much worse than yesterday?! Qiao Sang instinctively covered Lubao’s mouth.

Please! Stop singing!

“Lubao…”

Lubao was forced to stop singing.

It didn’t struggle but lifted its head and blinked at Qiao Sang.

Qiao Sang caught the aning in Lubao’s eyes and said with so concern, “Wait a mont. Once I let go, don’t sing.”

Lubao nodded.

Only then did Qiao Sang feel at ease and let go of her hand.

“Lubao?”

After she let go, Lubao made a sound. Its expression was its usual aloofness, but if one looked closely, one could see there was earnest emotion within it.

Are you feeling better now?

Qiao Sang was stunned. “What do you an, feeling better?”

“Lubao.”

Lubao made a sound again.

Mood.

When Qiao Sang realized what Lubao was asking about, she suddenly found that the suffocating discomfort she felt a minute ago had completely disappeared.

Qiao Sang was dumbfounded.

What the hell? The singing worked?

Healing Sound Wave was mastered?

If Xiao Xunbao knew what its Beast Tar was thinking, it would likely be so infuriated it would suffer a heart attack.

“Xun…”

Xiao Xunbao weakly called out from the side.

It had no idea if its Beast Tar was alright, but it certainly wasn’t feeling good at all…

At this mont, Liu Dad looked at the pale-faced Lubao and asked, “What kind of pet beast is this? Why did it suddenly use a sonic attack?”

“Yanyan!”

A pet beast that had thus far been unnoticeable, steadily performing a one-handed handstand, lost balance for the first ti today due to Lubao’s singing, causing a significant tremble.

Qiao Sang: “…”

“Lubao!”

Before Qiao Sang could answer, Lubao turned its head and glared at Liu Dad.

What sonic attack? This was a Healing Sound Wave! It was a healing skill!

“It’s a Binglu Qia, a pet beast from the Ancient Mist Region.” Qiao Sang introduced.

No sooner had she spoken than Liu Qijia and Brave Monkey brought in three chairs.

“Dad, Qiao Sang is the person I told you about who beat

last ti in tile-breaking using a Treasure-seeking Demon,” Liu Qijia approached Qiao Sang, placed down a chair, and said, “You didn’t believe it, but now that she’s here, let her Treasure-seeking Demon demonstrate tile-breaking for you.”

After finishing, Liu Qijia gave Qiao Sang a wink, out of her father’s sight, indicating it was all up to her now!

Qiao Sang froze for a mont, then rembered the purpose of her visit.

Damn, she had almost forgotten about the Golden Glove!

“Is this for real?!” Liu Dad’s face was a picture of shock, as though so deeply held belief had been challenged.

Qiao Sang was unfazed by such a reaction.

“Mm.” She nodded calmly, her voice steady, “Uncle, may I show you right now? I still have to get ho to do howork.”

“Xun!”

Xiao Xunbao floated forward and flexed its paws, displaying an “I’m ready” expression.

“Lubao.”

Lubao glanced at Qiao Sang and then at Xiao Xunbao, before looking towards the door.

After staring in the direction of the door for three seconds, Lubao jumped down from Qiao Sang’s arms and walked outside.
