Chapter 122: Chapter 117 The Second Option

“It’s a Derivative Fire Potion, don’t worry, it’s good for Fire Attribute Beasts,” Liu Yao said with a smile.

Qiao Sang nearly roared out loud.

Because it was good for Fire Attribute Beasts, that’s exactly what she was worried about!

“Do you rember when I told you that your Fire-Toothed Dog’s Energy Value had already exceeded the normal range, yet it still hadn’t evolved?” Liu Yao asked.

Qiao Sang felt utterly panicked inside, but she still answered, “Its physical energy value hasn’t reached saturation.”

“Right,” Liu Yao nodded. “A Pet Beast’s Energy Value can be increased through combat, its own growth, and corresponding resources.”

...

“However, even with resources, it’s not sothing that can be enhanced whenever one wishes.”

“Beasts with high talent grow quickly and absorb resources rapidly, whereas those with lesser talent grow slowly, and even if fed fruits like the Thousand Flas Fruit which are supposed to boost Energy Values, they can’t absorb them.”

“So Beast Tars, in their haste to have their Pet Beasts evolve, inject them with various energy potions or make them drink without considering whether their Beasts can withstand it or not, which is inadvisable.”

“Your Fire-Toothed Dog’s Energy Value is beyond the normal range, so its talent is unquestionably exceptional. The reason it hasn’t reached saturation is either because it’s hit a temporary bottleneck and can’t increase further, or it lacks the corresponding energy to absorb.”

“So, I fed it so Thousand Flas Fruit to test it. If it’s the forr situation, it would feel full after eating just one and wouldn’t be able to eat more, but it devoured an entire dish.”

At this point, Liu Yao looked toward the Fire-Toothed Dog with an amused smile, “This ans your Fire-Toothed Dog is perfectly capable of absorbing energy.”

“Its itchiness just now indicates that the energy is nearing the saturation point, and the Derivative Fire Potion works similarly to a Fire Elent Evolution Stone, but its effects are milder.”

“Evolution Stones have a forcible enhancent effect when used on a Pet Beast, and even if the Pet Beast hasn’t reached energy saturation, using a high-grade Evolution Stone can still result in evolution.”

“The Derivative Fire Potion only takes effect when the Pet Beast’s energy can no longer increase at this stage. Looking at the Fire-Toothed Dog’s current state, if nothing unexpected happens, it should perfectly make the potion take effect in about half a day.”

After hearing the last sentence, Qiao Sang felt a dark wave before her eyes and nearly couldn’t stand steady.

Half a day? Evolution?

Isn’t there half a month until the next shoot?

So, did she just breach the contract?!

“Yaobao!”

Upon hearing this conversation, the Fire-Toothed Dog’s eyes blazed.

Evolution!

It was finally going to evolve!

Didn’t evolution an it could beco stronger?

“Yaobao!”

The Fire-Toothed Dog turned its head, wanting to share its joy with Qiao Sang imdiately.

But upon seeing its Beast Tar’s expression, it hesitated, the excitent in its heart giving way to confusion.

Its own Beast Tar didn’t seem too happy about its evolution…

Liu Yao looked at Qiao Sang’s expression, puzzled, and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Qiao Sang tried to force a smile, her eyes brimming with tears, “I… I’m just too excited.”

“Don’t fret over it, this is what teachers should do. You just need to study hard and not waste your talent; if there’s anything else, just speak up, and I, as your teacher, will help you solve it,” Liu Yao assured with a smile.

Qiao Sang laughed dryly, “I want to live off-campus.”

Liu Yao: “…”

“And I also want to keep my phone with

during school.”

“…”

After Qiao Sang had left, Liu Yao sat in his chair, perplexed, “Old Manifest, I don’t know if it’s just my imagination, but I feel like Qiao Sang didn’t seem very happy just now.”

“Manifest.”

The Sky Manifest Bat fluttered its wings.

It wasn’t your imagination; she seed unhappy as soon as she heard the Fire-Toothed Dog was going to evolve.

But why? Who could resist the allure of evolution?

It didn’t understand either.

Qiao Sang returned to her dorm room, closed the door, and lay on her bed.

Just the thought that the Fire-Toothed Dog would evolve in half a day drained her of the mood to continue with today’s training.

Though the vice principal hadn’t agreed to her requests to live off-campus and keep her phone, he did consent to her skipping this afternoon’s training.

Qiao Sang lay on her bed, her eyes void of life, staring at the ceiling.

Breaching the contract, huh…

How much will she have to compensate…

She thought she had been thorough when she signed a contract for just half a year, never expecting life to throw her a curveball so unexpectedly…

“Yaobao.”

The Fire-Toothed Dog, looking at its Beast Tar’s state, no longer felt the excitent of knowing it was about to evolve.

It hung its head low by the bed, lost in thought.

The Treasure-seeking Ghost watched its Beast Tar, then glanced at the Fire-Toothed Dog, pulled a ring off, and took out so milk from inside, first offering it to its Beast Tar.

“Xiao Xunbao~”

“Xun Xun~”

As Qiao Sang was preoccupied with thoughts about the breach-of-contract penalty, she subconsciously accepted what was offered to her.

Xiao Xunbao’s eyes curved, and it floated in front of the Fire-Toothed Dog, holding out a bottle of milk.

“Xun~”

“Xun Xun~”

The Fire-Toothed Dog lifted its head, its wet eyes glanced at the milk and then back to Qiao Sang, who was still daydreaming.

“Ya.”

It shook its head and then lowered it again.

“Xun.”

“Xun Xun.”

Xiao Xunbao floated to the other side of the Fire-Toothed Dog and pushed the milk forward.

“Ya.”

After rejecting the milk again, the Fire-Toothed Dog walked over to the corner of the room and sat down with its head drooping.

Xiao Xunbao was stunned and then followed.

It put the milk on the ground and floated to where the Fire-Toothed Dog could see, putting its two short paws to its mouth and pulling them apart to make faces.

The Fire-Toothed Dog didn’t react.

Xiao Xunbao, undiscouraged, kept changing its facial expressions, trying to cheer it up.

“Xun~”

“Xun.”

“Xun…”

The commotion finally caught Qiao Sang’s attention.

She snapped back to her senses and looked toward the corner of the room, and when she saw the Fire-Toothed Dog looking listless, she was frozen for a second.

She quickly got out of bed and walked over to the Fire-Toothed Dog, picking it up worriedly, “Yaobao, are you alright?”

It was the first ti the Fire-Toothed Dog had evolved, and it was also her first ti experiencing this. Seeing the Fire-Toothed Dog’s behavior different from usual, she imdiately worried that sothing might have gone wrong.

The Fire-Toothed Dog was stunned by being suddenly picked up. It looked up at Qiao Sang’s anxious face and felt a sting in its eyes, burying its head in the Beast Tar’s arms.

“Ya.”

It shook its head but didn’t cry.

“Xun!”

“Xun Xun!”

Seeing this, Xiao Xunbao floated in front of its Beast Tar and began gesticulating.

There was definitely sothing seriously wrong!

Qiao Sang understood the Fire-Toothed Dog very well and, seeing Xiao Xunbao’s gestures and recalling what had just happened, she imdiately knew where the problem lay.

The Fire-Toothed Dog had a very strong pride and was surely very excited about being able to evolve.

But as a Beast Tar, she had an emo expression, and the Fire-Toothed Dog must have thought that she was unhappy about its evolution.

Qiao Sang sighed, lifted the Fire-Toothed Dog over her head, and looking into its eyes, she explained, “I’m actually very happy that you can evolve, I was just thinking about the endorsent.”

“Do you still rember the endorsent? The one from last ti with the sunglasses, we signed a six-month deal, and according to the contract, in half a month, you still have to pose again as a Fire-Toothed Dog, or else we’d have to pay a penalty.”

She hadn’t intended to bring this up, like the ti she removed the Fire-Toothed Dog’s Condensing Fire Bead and just tricked it into exchanging it for a rope.

In her view, her own pet beast only needed to do what it liked: train, eat, play, without worrying about anything else.

The affairs of human society were too complicated for pet beasts; moreover, this was her responsibility.

But now the Fire-Toothed Dog had clearly misunderstood, and she didn’t want it to continue under that assumption.

“Ya.”

The Fire-Toothed Dog looked dazedly at its Beast Tar and let out an involuntary cry.

“But it’s not a big problem, don’t worry about it, just go ahead and evolve,” Qiao Sang spoke in a soothing voice, “do you rember the man we caught last ti on the mountain? Because we caught him, we made 5 million, which is enough for this breach of contract, and we’ll still have a lot left over.”

The Fire-Toothed Dog stared unblinkingly at its own Beast Tar.

“To be honest, the thought of seeing your Blazehound form today is quite exciting. Have you seen your evolved version? It’s incredibly cool!”

Qiao Sang, intending to comfort the Fire-Toothed Dog, persuaded herself in the process.

That’s right, she had 5 million. What’s the big deal about evolving? It’s not as if she couldn’t afford it!

Qiao Sang placed the Fire-Toothed Dog on the bed and took out her phone to search for images of the Blazehound.

“Look, isn’t it handso?” Qiao Sang showed the phone to the Fire-Toothed Dog, smiling as she asked.

The Fire-Toothed Dog didn’t look at the phone but stared at its Beast Tar, recalling the days since they had bonded by contract.

It rembered the TV, that wall, the Strength Tester, and the broken vase, each ti its Beast Tar was in a dire state.

And now, because it carelessly drank sothing, causing it to evolve earlier, its Beast Tar was going to be in a dire state again.

Its Beast Tar was clearly unhappy, yet she forced herself to cheer up for its sake.

It could feel that its Beast Tar was truly happy now.

No one knew, at that mont, the page of the Beast Taming Codex corresponding to the Fire-Toothed Dog in Qiao Sang’s mind was flickering with a soft glow, and the na now had an evolution option added to it.

There were two options, but the second option was faint, sotis the first option glowed faintly, other tis the second option glowed as well.

But it was clear that the first option was much brighter.

The next second, a dazzling white light emanated from the Fire-Toothed Dog.
