Chapter 107: Chapter 103 Teleportation
“Isn’t that Officer Ye?”
“Officer Ye, is this child a relative of yours?”
“Officer Ye, I just saw your white fox, it got second place. Although quite a few looked the sa in that round, yours seed especially lively. I recognized it at first glance.”
“Officer Ye, have you found a partner yet?”
“What’s the na of this little red dog of yours, Officer Ye?”
“Officer Ye…”
...
Qitang Town was small, so small that one would bump into acquaintances just a few steps away. Qiao Sang wasn’t well-known in Hangkang, being away for years, but Ye Ranran was quickly recognized by people.
It was like when elders accompany a child and encounter people they know; the adults engage in conversation while the child becos the backdrop.
Ye Ranran answered with a smile, while Qiao Sang’s attention was on the live broadcast.
On the big screen, a tangerine-red lamp star was positioned backward opposite to the racetrack, releasing a water jet from its rear that propelled it several ters forward.
Qiao Sang secretly scoffed at the thod; although it could speed up the progress, positioning backward ca with nurous safety risks, as it could easily lead to collisions with other competing pet beasts.
Before long, the live broadcast on the big screen switched from the surface of the river to the underwater view.
A blue sponge salamander was seen constantly waving its two tails at 360 degrees, spinning like an activated propeller to hasten its speed.
However, it quickly tired out, and the tails finally ca to a stop.
The live broadcast then made another shift.
A deep blue spiny seahorse appeared in the view.
Qiao Sang imdiately understood that the broadcast was focused on pet beasts that employed unique thods of moving forward!
It made sense, though, considering a marathon is a lengthy athletic event, and continuously watching pet beasts simply running or swimming could be pretty dull.”
The spiny seahorse on the screen would use its straw-like, thin and long snout to take a deep breath every ti it moved a distance, and with each deep breath, its coiled tail would unfurl.
Then, a stream of gas surged out, causing the water behind it to bubble up as if boiling.
The force of the gas propelled the spiny seahorse forward by more than a dozen ters.
Qiao Sang stared in disbelief.
Damn, it was actually using the expulsion of “grain qi” to increase its speed!
Who in the world thought of this thod?
It was simply brilliant!
It did, however, make one feel sorry for the competing pet beasts in the rear…
Although the thod seed crude, the technology behind it was far from simple. After all, farting wasn’t sothing one could just do on command—it must have taken specialized training.
For a mont, Qiao Sang held the spiny seahorse and its Beast Tar in high regard.
Standing there, dumbstruck, was also the Treasure-seeking Ghost. It looked at the live broadcast, feeling as if a door to a new world had opened.
Ever since seeing the spiny seahorse’s thod of propulsion, Qiao Sang found the broadcast of other pet beasts sowhat bland in comparison.
Finding it uninteresting, Qiao Sang thought of her third uncle’s Howling Swamp Crocodile.
Where was the Howling Swamp Crocodile?
Why hadn’t it appeared on screen for so long?
Three minutes later, the screen switched to a black inkfish.
Qiao Sang paused for a mont, then involuntarily squinted and peered closer.
This inkfish, why did it look so much like the one belonging to her third uncle?
“Ranran, don’t you think this inkfish looks a lot like third uncle’s?” Qiao Sang asked Ye Ranran uncertainly.
Ye Ranran, who was chatting with the auntie next to her, turned her head upon hearing this.
Seeing the inkfish on the screen using its wing-like side fins to push itself forward by releasing jets of water, she felt a sudden jolt and quickly stood up.
“Ah Sang, we’re dood!”
Although third uncle desired to be the individual champion of the marathon, it was, after all, a team relay race.
If the pet beast was not properly waiting on the racecourse for the handoff, naturally, the result would be invalidated.
Qiao Sang wasn’t finished; she was the final leg.
But Ye Ranran was rather flustered and rushed over in a hurry.
…
Pingxiang Street.
The starting point for the first leg of the first racetrack is also the hand-off point for the last leg of the third racetrack.
After Qiao Sang placed the Treasure-seeking Ghost on the track, she hugged the Fire-Toothed Dog and waited to the side.
Many people around laughed and pointed at the little Treasure-seeking Ghost.
Ordinary people knew of the existence of Spectral-type Pets, but they didn’t understand what Spectral-type ant in the eyes of a Beast Tar.
Fearless are those who are ignorant; sotis, not understanding sothing ans not fearing it.
In their eyes, the little Treasure-seeking Ghost was just a pet beast that could leave the ground but couldn’t reach the floating cloud racetrack.
The floating cloud racetrack was dozens of ters up in the air, while the little Treasure-seeking Ghost could only stay around 2 ters above the ground.
The little Treasure-seeking Ghost looked up at the competing pets far above in the sky, and, thinking of sothing, suddenly gripped its claws tight, its little grey face turning red with strain.
“Fang?”
The Fire-Toothed Dog pointed at the little Treasure-seeking Ghost and questioned.
“It must be thinking about how to make its movents faster,” Qiao Sang said uncertainly.
In fact, she thought its posture looked a bit like it was trying to take a big one, but she quickly dismissed the idea.
Taking a big one was impossible, after all, Spectral-type Pets have a bottomless pit inside them, as so of them can swallow anything.
Emotions, life, dreams, etc. can all beco their strength.
Experts have indicated that the higher the level of the Spectral-type Pet, the more malevolent they are because their evolution is essentially based on swallowing, and not just energy at that.
…
Who knows how long it had been when a blue-and-white pet beast raced by like the wind.
The Wind Sculpture, true to its nature as a Flight Type pet beast known for speed, was the sixth to arrive for the final leg’s hand-off.
It soared past the little Treasure-seeking Ghost with the relay strap, swiftly attaching it above.
Having passed on the baton, Qiao Sang’s task this ti was now successfully completed.
She took out her phone to contact Ye Ranran, when suddenly, the onlookers started to stir.
“What is this?!”
“How can a Spectral-type pet beast teleport!”
“Isn’t it a Flight Type pet beast?”
“Am I seeing hallucinations because of the heatstroke?”
“Whose pet beast is this?”
“Could it have turned invisible and then floated forward before appearing again?”
“You TM show
how quick you can float! If you can float like that, I’ll directly call you daddy!”
“What’s wrong with you? If I could float like that, you should be shouting ‘save ’!”
“…”
Qiao Sang was taken aback by the commotion. Spectral-type pet beasts?
It seed that the Treasure-seeking Ghost from her ho was the only one in the entire marathon.
Qiao Sang put down her phone and looked up at the racetrack.
The little Treasure-seeking Ghost was no longer in its original position.
At that mont, it gripped its claws tightly, its little grey face as red as when Qiao Sang first suspected it of trying to take a big one.
But in the next second, the little Treasure-seeking Ghost suddenly disappeared and reappeared out of thin air 3 ters away.
Qiao Sang: “!!!”
This is teleportation, isn’t it?!
Qiao Sang was completely flustered.
Could the little Treasure-seeking Ghost teleport?
No, it couldn’t! Just last night, when she was reading the Beast Taming Codex, nothing had changed, and after absorbing the Dark Elixir and waking up, there were only 40 extra points behind the level and an additional 60 points in the level of the skill Cursed Body.
Qiao Sang watched the little Treasure-seeking Ghost’s silhouette, continuously clenching its fists and teleporting, sowhat bewildered.
Is learning a skill this easy nowadays…
