"Didn't you say she was brought back from Senyu Beast Forest?"

"It's your 'good' son who kidnapped Sally! It's her child! Do you think the cris Lin Fu committed in his early years wouldn't be reported sooner or later, with conclusive evidence? Who did it? Wasn't it your 'good' son who offended soone he shouldn't have?"

"You an... Pei Xuan?!"

...

Sally ate the grilled lobster and listened to a tragic story of a young man who grew up in a remarried family, beca twisted, and ended up with a split personality.

It confird that saying—people you hate always have their miseries.

Rong Ruo was both the older brother and the dominant personality.

After the head of the Rong Family remarried, he was busy entertaining and dealing with the family business, sotis not being able to see Rong Ruo for months at a ti.

Mrs. Rong would either yell at or scold Rong Ruo, venting all of her frustrations from being neglected by Mr. Rong and her anger about not being able to have children entirely on young Rong Ruo.

As Rong Ruo grew more and more beautiful, Mrs. Rong, in her years of primal urges, began to harbor improper desires towards him.

That's when Rong Ruo developed a second personality, Rong Wu.

Rong Wu had a perverse nature, was sharp-tongued, cynical, irritable, and easily angered. His appearance indeed caused Mrs. Rong a lot of suffering.

Later, Rong Ruo gradually faded into the background, and it was mostly Rong Wu who took control of the body, and even the na on the family tree was changed from Rong Ruo to Rong Wu.

His wish was to disappear, to never have existed in this world at all.

The last ti Rong Ruo appeared was when Sally and Bai Kaixin were buying stead buns. After exchanging control once again, he chose to sleep permanently.

Afterwards, Sally encountered only Rong Wu.

"Where's that bastard Rong Wu, who flirted with and then didn't dare to take responsibility, hiding like a crybaby?" Sally bit into the lobster claw at, enjoying it imnsely.

Rong Ruo said with a smile, "If he doesn't want to co out, there's nothing I can do."

Sally took another sip of Golden Coconut Juice, "Such a coward. Then, can you send back? My child was just born and needs care."

"Yes." Rong Ruo replied, "I am a Dual-Beast Body, an Earth Rank when I am a Land Beast. As a Water Beast, I am Heaven Rank. I can use the Teleport Technique when using my Heaven Rank talent."

"Aweso! You're definitely playing the pig to eat the tiger." Completely unguarded against an entire rank difference in strength, underestimating him would surely lead to an imdiate disadvantage.

"Heh heh." Rong Ruo chuckled and passed the bone-picked fish at to Sally, "I apologize on behalf of my brother. If there's anything I can do to compensate, just ask."

"No need. I'll just consider it a bite from a dog." Sally took the fish at, thinking it's best not to take a ntally ill person too seriously.

"Thank you." A gentle smile like serene water appeared on Rong Ruo's face.

Sally happened to see it and was montarily chard, "You should take over the body. Otherwise, sooner or later, your brother is going to ss things up completely!"

"I still have so things to take care of in the short term." Rong Ruo continued to peel lobster at for Sally.

Sally ate until her stomach was round.

Rong Ruo helped Sally pack up the tent and also cleaned the stains on her clothes with Water Elental Power.

The green maternity dress looked good as new.

Sally said with a smile, "There's a Water Elent worker at my lodge. Watching him clean with the Water Elent Secret Technique every day is such a stress reliever, truly a pleasing sight."

"All the Innate Secret Techniques of the families are actually ant to help the race continue better, that is, to serve people with them."

"Exactly."

Sally watched as Rong Ruo gradually changed shape, his ears growing longer, his stature becoming more than double, his blue hair dragging on the ground, his eyebrows and eyes shining with a hint of gold, and eventually even his skin turned a light blue. His features becoming enchantingly beautiful to the extre, the lower half of his body transforming into a fish tail, scales shimring with rainbow light, like a rainbow-feathered robe.

"So, so beautiful!" Sally exclaid as she reached out to touch his scales.

Seeing her admiration, Rong Ruo tore off a scale and handed it to Sally, completely disregarding the flesh beneath the torn scale that bled bluish-purple blood.

Sally hurriedly pressed the scale back, "Are you crazy?"

"Don't you like it?"

"...Just because I like it doesn't an I have to have it. Ever heard of appreciation?" Sally eyed the wound's location, heaved a sigh of relief only after she pressed the scales back in place and the blood stopped again.

"Stop being crazy, let's go back."

I swear this lunatic is beyond hope; no wonder Zong Silu says there's sothing wrong with his head.

...

In the bright and cozy room, Zong Silu, his emotions plunging into the abyss, clutched the newly-born Little Lushu, refusing to let go.

Previously in the Dark Continent, he found it amusing that Pei Xuan killed demon beasts while bringing his son along, as if he wished to keep him in his mouth constantly or on his back.

Now, he suddenly understood.

The little guy was so hungry that he couldn't stand it, struggling and crying desperately.

Old Zong just happened to co back from outside.

Hearing the cub's cries and knowing he was hungry, he patted Zong Silu's shoulder, "Let the child nurse first."

Only then did Zong Silu loosen his grip, allowing Old Zong to take Little Lushu from his arms.

After taking the little one, Old Zong counted his tails again to confirm there were six, his mouth stretching into a grin that almost reached his ears.

Finally, amidst the desperate cries of the hungry little one, he carefully handed him over to the nursing female.

Turning around to say sothing to Zong Silu, he saw that he was still in a dazed, forlorn state, and his smile faded. Having been through this period himself, he knew no one could help—it was a journey one had to navigate alone.

He coughed lightly before saying, "That child, Sally, she has a lucky aura. She's bound to turn misfortune into good fortune and return safely. Plus, I've already put pressure on the Rong Family; they've dispatched people to the Southern District to search for her."

"If I don't see her before dawn, the entire Rong Family will be exiled to the Dark Continent."

...

Teleporting requires elental power.

Originally, when Rong Wu took Sally from the Eastern District Imperial Capital to the Southern District, he had nearly exhausted his elental power.

Now, making the return trip, he started to falter.

The sky had completely darkened, but for most beastn, seeing at night posed no obstacle. Those with high innate talents had no difficulty regardless of it being day or night.

"We can reach the Imperial Capital before dawn," Rong Ruo said as he resud human form, his face pale as he spoke to Sally.

"There's no need to rush," Sally replied. "Rest a bit more."

"No, there are too many dreams in a long night," said Rong Ruo as he began to unpack and set up the tent.

"Hold on, there's a town ahead. Let's go there and ask if they have a teleportation array. We're out of elental power, not out of wealth," Sally suggested.

Rong Ruo paused, looking at the sparsely lit town, then agreed, "Alright."

The nearly abandoned town was overgrown with weeds along its streets; the doors of several shops had fallen off.

"What happened here?"

"It must have been a demon beast attack. Those are the marks left by dead demon beasts," Rong Ruo pointed to a dilapidated corner where so black ashes lay.

"Help—Is anyone there—Help—" A cry for help suddenly rang out.

Sally hurriedly wanted to check it out.

But Rong Ruo stopped her, "Be careful."

"You think it's a trap?" Sally also cald down, observing the desolate houses around them, she indeed needed to be extra cautious.

"I'll go ahead," Rong Ruo said, shielding Sally behind him.
