Chapter 469: Chapter 467 The Truth Behind Welly’s Investigation Chapter 469: Chapter 467 The Truth Behind Welly’s Investigation Primordial Beast Forest.
Sally took out the body of the giant serpent and had Xiaoi restore the cri scene to how it had looked at the ti.
Zulu recalled the incident.
Sally even showed him the video, and Zulu stood where the spatial rift had appeared, closing his eyes to recall.
Sally sent a Sound Transmission Talisman to Welly, telling her that she had returned and was in the Primordial Beast Forest.
Welly arrived soon after.
He saw Zulu standing there, alive and well, his eyes widening slightly with unrepressed astonishnt, “How is he…?”
Sally didn’t answer, “How’s the investigation going?”
“There’s so lead. Where’s my son?” Welly looked at her face, which had grown thinner, signaling that the mission hadn’t been easy.
“He’s attending the monthly exam on Jiushen Mountain.”
“At Qing Linghuan’s place?”
“Yes, how much did Little Fengning score last ti?”
“Math 4 points, language 4 points…”
“Mm, not favoring any subject is very good, and there’s a huge room for improvent. He has great potential.”
“…” Was that a suggestion that his talent wasn’t genetic?
“What clues?”
“I need to go to Jiushen Mountain.”
“That’s fine. I was actually thinking of summoning you for help. Right now there are more than ten children with just Qing Linghuan looking after them.”
Welly handed an envelope to Sally, “The one who killed Zulu, it’s probably the Ti Sand Beast.”
“Ti Sand Beast? What’s that?” Sally took the envelope and opened it, finding nothing inside… Wait, there seed to be so grains of sand.
She poured them out, “Sand?”
“Right. Whenever they appear, they leave traces behind,” replied Welly.
Suddenly, Zulu rembered sothing, “Yanyan!”
Sally looked at him, “What did you say?”
“I rember now! The face of the man in black, it was Yanyan’s face!” Zulu furrowed his brows, recalling carefully, “But that face was completely made of sand.”
“The Sand Beasts can take on countless forms. They can transform into the shape of the one resurrected by ti, the one that is least expected to guard against, and then attack.”
“The one resurrected by ti?” Sally said, astonished.
“Ten thousand years ago, ti reversed. However, reversal has its rules, for example, Zi Qi remains the Beast Emperor, the Holy War still exists, and you are still the Holy Mother. And those who died will still die, just sooner or later. I went to the Western District and found out that Zulu had once been critically injured by Demon Beasts on the brink of death, and it was you who saved him.”
“Having survived a deadly calamity, shouldn’t one then continue to live?”
“It’s not as simple as you say. He isn’t an Ancient Divine Beast; he’s just a mber of the Beast Clan, with a single thread of ti defining his life. When I was in the Beast Emperor’s Palace, I discovered that his life thread of ti had already been severed.”
“You noticed then? Why didn’t you tell .”
“You were so happy, I’ve never seen you that happy before. I asked you if he was your weakness?”
“When did you ask ?”
[He did ask, but the host was busy taking care of the children at the ti and didn’t listen carefully.] Xiaoi reminded Sally.
Sally: […With everything so lively at the ti, of course, I’d prioritize the children.]
“Even if you asked … you, couldn’t you have just told directly! I would have figured out a way to extend his ti line or anything, I’d even give him my own lifespan if necessary.”
“It’s not about lifespan, it’s about the ti laws set by the Ti Ruler, the deity who reversed ti, who made a life thread of ti for all beings except the Ancient Divine Beasts, not sparing even the new Divine Clan. The Ti Sand Beasts are the puppets scattered throughout the realms by the Ti Ruler.”
“The Ti Ruler…” Sally frowned, “Wasn’t he supposed to sacrifice himself to reverse ti, how could he still be alive?”
“Naturally, there’s a new Ti Ruler. What’s currently uncertain is, the mont for the reversal of ti is set according to which point in ti. As it stands, it seems to be at least after Zulu’s death,” Welly replied.
“Let get this straight. The life thread of ti is assigned by the new Ti Ruler at a certain point.”
“Yes, those who are alive after this ti node are considered to be born with the flow of ti, with their tiline and lifespan coinciding, based on lifespan. As for those who died before this ti node, their tiline will not coincide with their lifespan; you can see that it’s broken, forming a ti stele, which becos a target for Ti Sand Beasts.”
“How do we investigate this ti point? What about Zulu now?”
“That’s what I find strange—Zulu’s tiline and lifespan line within him are currently aligned, which ans he is normal now. How did you do it?”
“Spent money to buy life.”
“Spent money?”
“So Zulu is out of danger now, is that right?”
“Yes. But the Ti Sand Beast still exists. I’ve asked Pei Xuan if there was anyone who had died before the reversal of ti but is still alive now. He said Xiaoqi’s birth Father Beast is one too.”
[Xiaoi, how is Rong Ruo doing now?]
[Rong Ruo has entered the early stages of Saint Rank, doing pretty well. He is now the Beast Emperor of the Southern District.]
[Can you see the tiline thing?]
[No.]
Sally looked at Zulu, who had just finished dismbering the giant python, and asked Welly, “Are you sure he’s out of danger?”
“If you’re referring to the Ti Sand Beast, indeed it won’t attack Zulu anymore. I can’t guarantee other dangers, though.”
“That’s good enough. You’re going to Jiushen Mountain, right?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, I’ll take you there.” Sally said to Zulu, “We’re going back to Jiushen Mountain.”
Zulu promptly replied, “Right away, I’ll make so dried snake at; I wonder if the children will like it.”
“As long as it’s jerky, they’ll like it,” Sally said with a smile.
…
Jiushen Mountain was filled with the sound of children’s laughter.
Manman, with Little Shiba in tow, a big and a small, flew through the air while spraying fireballs.
The massive form of Qing Linghuan, the Nine-tailed Fox Beast, was imnsely intimidating, but at the mont, it played with the children like one big cub.
Realizing Sally had returned, Qing Linghuan flew over.
Upon seeing Welly, it was visibly annoyed.
Welly’s smile didn’t quite reach his eyes, “Where’s my son?”
“Still alive,” huffed Qing Linghuan, naturally finding Welly displeasing.
Sally couldn’t be bothered with these natural adversaries and went with Zulu to check on the children.
She had initially thought it would take so ti to investigate, but without giving Welly any clues, he sohow managed to uncover the truth.
Yet, the Ti Sand Beast was too strange an entity.
“Zulu, you go see the children first; I have so matters to deal with,” Sally stopped in her tracks.
“I’m not much help anyway,” Zulu said, scratching his head with an embarrassed look.
Sally embraced him tightly, “You are my anchor. You might not solve every problem, but with you here, I feel at peace to face a myriad of difficulties.”
“I’ll listen to you,” Zulu patted her back, his resolve to cultivate growing firr.
Sally teleported back to where Welly and Qing Linghuan were, these two still glaring… at each other!
Their eyes were not small at all!
“Welly, co with , I need to verify sothing.”
“Let’s hurry up and go; this creature really stinks,” said Qing Linghuan, and then it flew away.
Grinding his back teeth, Welly muttered, “… Looks like it’s because he has too many tails!”
