Chapter 383: Chapter 381: Taking the Child Back to the Mother’s Ho Chapter 383: Chapter 381: Taking the Child Back to the Mother’s Ho Inside the Rat Clan, it was business as usual.
The males were responsible for going out to hunt, providing for the females and cubs who stayed back in the tribe.
In the market, you could find stalls selling all sorts of things. One stall in particular was extrely popular; whether or not people bought anything, they would always stop to have a chat with the stall owner.
Auro had just sold the last few pieces of dried at. His jerky was of good quality, tasty, and crucially, it was cheap. He only made a modest profit. The folks around were all discerning custors who preferred his jerky, especially since he used enough salt to give them the energy to hunt and work harder.
“I’m grateful for our tribe mbers’ patronage today. I’ll be back tomorrow,” Auro began to pack up his stall for the day.
Suddenly, the bustling, lively crowd went quiet, and even the sound of Auro rolling up his mat could be heard clearly.
He looked up curiously to see what had happened.
What he saw was a strikingly beautiful female in lavish silk standing in front of his stall, her snow-white hair dazzling in the light. Beside her stood three cubs.
Feeling an ancestral bond, he was imdiately certain that these three children were his grandchildren.
“Dad, your daughter has returned, and these are her three children,” Sally said, smiling as she patted the heads of the three kids. “Go ahead, call out, haven’t you been thinking and asking about them?”
Yona called out, “Grandpa, I’m Yona Deira.”
Yohanes Millet said, “Grandpa, I am Yohanes Millet.”
Frost added, “Grandpa, I’m Frost Millet.”
“Millet… Dei, Deira?” Auro was dumbfounded.
The surrounding people, just by looking at the three children, could tell they were the offspring of the Rabbit Clan and the Rat Clan.
And Deira? That was the surna of the Rabbit Tribe clan leader’s family!
But when had Millet ford a marriage alliance with Deira?
“Dad, let’s go ho,” Sally suggested to Auro.
“Right, right, let’s go ho first. I’ve packed everything. Hop on the cart, we’ll head back,” Auro agreed.
Without needing Sally’s guidance, the three children expertly clambered onto the ox cart.
They behaved as if they had done it many tis before.
Sally caressed their heads. “We’re going ho, are you excited?”
“Excited,” the three little ones answered in chorus.
Sally smiled.
…
Rabbit Tribe.
Zulu returned to his den with a wild ox he had hunted.
As soon as he entered, he saw the Clan Leader, his father, waiting for him.
“Dad, has the tribe cald down?” Zulu set the ox down.
The Clan Leader eyed his strongest son, also the mightiest warrior of the tribe, and suddenly banged his cane, “Speak, when did you entangle with a female from the Millet Family of the Rat Clan!”
“Dad, you know, I pursued her once. But after that Demon Beast attack, I never went back there,” recalling who had accompanied Sally during her labor after he left made Zulu realize he would never have a chance with her again.
The Clan Leader’s cane ca down on his back!
“Still lying! She has already co back with your children! Everyone at the market saw, yet you still won’t admit it.”
Zulu was unfazed by the beatings, but his father’s words left him in such shock that he felt like his soul had flown away, “Dad, what did you say?”
“Take this ox and this chest of Crystal Coins, and hurry to the Millet Family. You must bring those three children back to !”
Only then did Zulu notice the large chest behind his father.
“I’ll go right now.” Zulu picked up the chest with one hand and shouldered the freshly hunted ox with the other, heading towards the Rat Clan.
“Is this not enough… No, I must send more over with my second son.” The Clan Leader imdiately hurried to his second son’s house, leaning on his cane.
…
Yona and Robby were the closest, and upon seeing him, tears filled her eyes as she threw herself at him, “Uncle.”
Yohanes and Frost had taken the Millet surna, so logically they should call Robby ‘uncle,’ but they followed Yona in doing so, sotis also calling him ‘uncle.’
Robby first caught Yona, who had jumped towards him, and then looked at Sally, “These three…”
“Let’s not talk about the past, just know that I gave birth to them, that they’re your nephews and great-nephews, that’s all.” She had said the sa to Auro.
Auro had experienced much, and knew there might be so unspeakable secrets, but there was no doubt they were of Millet blood.
“Co, children, this is the best jerky your grandpa could make, try it. And there’s also a bowl of fresh, tender at, Yanyan’s favorite.”
Holding Yona, Robby turned to the other two, especially Frost, who looked almost identical to his Beast Body; if told he was his son, anyone would believe it.
“Our Millet family will continue on,” Robby said with a smile, the burden of carrying on the bloodline falling from his shoulders, making him feel incredibly relieved.
Sally smiled and said, “I knew you’d say that.”
Auro nodded hastily, “Robby is right; in the future, they’ll stay within the clan.”
Frost said, “Grandpa, I can’t stay here for long; I need to develop my talent. I’ve already promised Instructor Zhang from the Divine Beast Academy that I would be his student.”
Sally, surprised, said, “Oh? How co I didn’t know that?”
Frost, sowhat embarrassed, rubbed his paws, “Am I wrong, son?”
Sally laughed, “No, your mother is also his student.”
Auro and Frost had heard of the Divine Beast Academy—that was the best Beast Clan academy in the Four Regions!
“You’re going to study at the Divine Beast Academy?!” Auro looked at Frost in disbelief, as he could not discern any talent in him.
Stamring, Robby asked, “You, you… do you have a talent?” He also couldn’t see Frost’s talent.
Frost nodded, “I’m at the initial stage of Spirit Rank. Both my sisters are at Profound Rank.”
In the entire Rat Tribe, the highest talent was only Yellow Rank! Spirit Rank was almost like the existence of a Beast God.
His grandson was actually of Spirit Rank!
“Yanyan, what he says is… is it true?”
“Mhmm,” Sally nodded.
“Dong—dong dong—” The sound of knocking ca.
Robby looked at Auro.
“I’ll go,” Auro said.
The visitor was Lin Lang, carrying two deers, “Godfather, I’m lucky today, both deers are plump and healthy.”
When Sally heard Lin Lang’s voice, she called out, “Brother Lin Lang—”
“Who is this?” Lin Lang’s azure eyes suddenly shone with astonishnt.
Auro welcod him in, “It’s Yanyan coming ho, co in, this deer is just right for welcoming her.”
“No wonder I was so lucky today,” Lin Lang straightened his coarse hemp clothes, “I should go ho and change.”
“No need, no need, it’s our own sister, co in quickly,” Auro pulled him inside, and the door was left ajar.
Seeing Sally, radiant in luxurious silk, Lin Lang felt his coarse clothes to be even more vulgar, “I, uh…”
“Co over and sit, Brother Lin Lang; I’ll introduce my three children to you,” Sally proactively went over, took his arm, and made him sit down. Then she had the three children greet him, Yona calling him ‘big uncle,’ and the other two, ‘big uncle.’
Lin Lang looked at the three children in astonishnt, “These children are…?”
“Auro Uncle—I’m Zulu, coming in—The voice of Zulu ca from the doorway.”
Upon hearing his voice, Sally looked at the three children.
All three children beca noticeably uneasy.
