Si Yan shifted her gaze away.

He’d missed the chance to show off. Did failing to lift the whale make him seem not strong enough? Mu Xiao felt a bit frustrated. The feathers on his body drooped slightly.

"This fish is too big. If it were just a little smaller, I could..."

"You’re injured; it’s not suitable for you," Si Yan said calmly, looking at the enormous little whale. Seeing its pitiful, pleading eyes, her heart softened further.

While Si Yan was trying to think of a solution, Mu Xiao sniffed and said, "Little female, never mind him for now. Look, there are traces of other Beastn nearby."

Si Yan cautiously scanned her surroundings. "So, this rman was dragged ashore by other Beastn?"

Mu Xiao nodded. "It’s highly likely."

Si Yan judged, "They must either be very strong, or there are many of them."

Dragging such a large rman from the sea to the center of the island would require considerable strength.

Mu Xiao imdiately perked up. "My strength is the greatest!"

After saying that, Mu Xiao flexed his muscles like a fool.

Si Yan glanced at the Beastman, who seed utterly dim-witted. She rubbed her temples and said calmly, "Find a way to get so seawater to wet its body. I’ll stay here and guard it."

"You’re saying I should go alone?"

Si Yan nodded.

Mu Xiao shook his head vigorously. "No way! It’s too dangerous here. We don’t even know how many of them there are, and I’m the only male with you. I have to protect you."

Si Yan turned her head to look at him, then, without a word, ran towards the seashore.

Mu Xiao was stunned. He shouted, "Hey, Si Yan, why are you running? Hey! Hey!!!"

He could only hurry after her.

At the seashore, Si Yan struggled with how to transport the seawater.

She found a thick tree trunk and began to shave it with her snake scale. Mu Xiao imdiately took over, chopping off a section with a swing of his claw.

Si Yan imdiately started hollowing out the cut section of wood, intending to make a bucket. Seeing this, Mu Xiao swung his claw again, SHHRIIK, and split the section in half.

The would-be bucket was split apart. Si Yan turned and gave him a speechless glare.

Mu Xiao then realized his mistake and felt sowhat embarrassed.

Si Yan found another section of wood. This ti, she patiently explained to Mu Xiao, "I want to hollow out the inside to make a bucket."

Although Mu Xiao didn’t know what a bucket was, this ti he understood what "hollowing out" ant. He extended his claws and, SHWIK, SHWIK, SHWIK, quickly hollowed out the log.

Si Yan filled the bucket with water and started running back. Mu Xiao imdiately took it from her and said showily, "How could I let a female do such work?"

Si Yan was speechless.

She watched the flamboyant white figure run swiftly with the water, not looking injured at all.

Si Yan followed. When they reached the little whale, she had Mu Xiao fly into the air and pour the water over its parched body.

Nourished by the seawater, the little whale finally showed a flicker of vitality.

However, it was like a drop in the bucket; such a small amount of seawater could ultimately do very little.

"Soone’s coming!"

Mu Xiao grabbed Si Yan and pulled her behind so nearby bushes. Peering through a gap in the foliage, Si Yan saw a dozen or so male Beastn with dark purple lips suddenly appear.

"They’re Sea Scorpion Beastn," Mu Xiao whispered. "Tch, and there’s a Red Crystal Sea Scorpion with them."

A Red Crystal Beastman. Si Yan squinted. After witnessing the battle between Mu Xiao and Tai Seng, she knew clearly that her own strength was not on the sa level as a Red Crystal. If a fight was unavoidable, she could only rely on Mu Xiao, who was beside her.

"What are they doing?" Si Yan exclaid softly.

She saw one of the Sea Scorpion Beastn transform his hand into a scorpion’s pincer. The purplish, venom-laced pincer stabbed directly into the little whale’s body, causing it to imdiately struggle and wail in agony.

Si Yan’s eyes turned slightly red.

In the apocalypse, she had seen zombies bite humans. Their teeth, oozing purple saliva, would pierce flesh. Humans would push the zombies away, clutching their wounds in pain, only to eventually transform into zombies themselves. Among them, she had seen classmates, teachers, and various familiar faces from the streets all turn into zombies.

A pang of pain spread through her heart. Si Yan gripped the snake scales in her hand tightly.

Mu Xiao noticed Si Yan’s unusual reaction. He looked towards the Sea Scorpions and said, "Sea Scorpions are cold-blooded scorpion Beastn. In the Beast World, they’re detested by everyone."

Si Yan paused for a mont, thinking of her four cubs back ho—four cold-blooded snake Beastn.

Her four cubs, even if they were to beco villains, must absolutely not beco like these ones before her!

"Why are they capturing the little rmaid?"

Mu Xiao said, "Perhaps for salt, or maybe for rmaid tears. Little female, rmaids are very valuable."

"I must save her," Si Yan said. "I need your help."

Mu Xiao nodded. "I am originally a peace envoy from White Eagle City, tasked with maintaining world peace. It’s only right that I step in for sothing like this."

A peace envoy tasked with maintaining world peace? Si Yan shot him a sidelong glance.

Mu Xiao imdiately grew flustered. "I... I... I didn’t abduct you! Competition among males for a female is perfectly fair. I haven’t violated any rules of the Beast World!"

"Really?" Si Yan was skeptical.

Mu Xiao felt a bit guilty.

Si Yan said, "This isn’t the ti to delve into your affairs. We need to save the little whale now."

Mu Xiao asked, "How do you plan to rescue it?"

Si Yan turned and surveyed Mu Xiao from head to toe. Her scrutiny made Mu Xiao feel uneasy, as if he were about to be tricked. Then, Si Yan said, "You’re fast. You lead them away."

Mu Xiao was startled, then asked, "After I lead them away, how will you save it?"

Si Yan frowned slightly. "I don’t know."

Mu Xiao was flabbergasted. After a mont’s thought, unable to co up with another plan, he said, "Alright, I’ll lead them away."

With that, Mu Xiao transford into a white hawk and soared into the sky, circling above. He imdiately caught the attention of the Sea Scorpion Beastn.

Mu Xiao swooped down, snatched two Green Crystal Sea Scorpion Beastn with his talons, flew high, and crushed them to death!

The Hawk Clan were the natural enemies of scorpion-kind. The Sea Scorpion Beastn were initially sowhat fearful upon seeing Mu Xiao. However, after observing that there was only one Hawk Clan Beastman, their leader waved his hand, and a group of Sea Scorpion Beastn charged towards Mu Xiao.

Only after the many Sea Scorpion Beastn had left did Si Yan erge from behind the bushes.

The little whale’s body had been injected with scorpion venom, which was spreading rapidly. The severely affected areas had turned purple.

The little whale looked at her with pleading eyes. Si Yan wanted to drag it to the sea, but the little whale shook its head.

Si Yan looked helplessly at the little whale. It seed to want to tell her sothing, but she couldn’t understand.

Si Yan said, "I can save you. Trust . Just hang in there."

With that, Si Yan stretched out her hands and gently placed them on the little whale’s poisoned wound. A green life force from her palms began to spread into the little whale’s body!
