Distilling seawater into fresh water wasn’t difficult.

Si Yan found a large rock, and the people of the Delusional Domain worked together to carve out an enormous stone pot.

The stone pot was filled with seawater, and a fire, started with matches, was lit underneath it.

A smooth, grooved stone was placed atop the pot as a lid. This guided the steam to condense into droplets, which then slid down the large stone and into a wooden barrel placed to the side, collecting the distilled water.

Once the device was ready, they began using it imdiately. It was a success, as drops of distilled water trickled into the barrel.

Si Yan went over to taste the water; the distilled water was tasteless and drinkable.

An excited smile spread across her face. "We did it! The seawater has beco drinkable fresh water!"

"Really?"

Many Beastn crowded around. A few of the ones closer tried it, and their eyes instantly lit up!

"Damn, it’s true! This water is really drinkable!"

"This is fresh water; it’s not salty at all!"

"Heavens, I never imagined I’d see the day I could drink seawater!"

Seeing everyone’s excitent, Si Yan also smiled and said, "Let’s do it this way: make more water tanks, distill together, and heat them together. That way, we’ll have enough water to drink!"

"Okay!" The Beastn responded with great excitent.

With high spirits and enthusiasm, the Beastn began building the distillation devices. Even the drowsy snake Beastn, on the verge of sumr hibernation, fought off their sleepiness and got moving.

Soon, one distillation device after another was set up around the lake, which was brimming with seawater.

Lan Hai jumped directly into the seawater he had brought in and began to splash around. Whenever the water level dropped, he would haul in more!

anwhile, the other freshwater rpeople could only watch Lan Hai enviously, then squatted beside the distillation devices, waiting for fresh water.

The Beastn prioritized giving the distilled water to the rpeople. Once the rpeople received a few tanks of it, they quickly subrged themselves to soak.

Chattering among themselves, the Beastn said, "This Old Wolf never thought seawater could one day be drinkable!"

"That’s right. Ever since I was little, the elders told seawater is undrinkable. So what am I drinking now?"

"Distilled water. The Lady of the Lord said it; this is called distilled water!"

After the seawater had boiled for so ti, white crystals—crude salt—appeared at the bottom of the stone pot.

This was an unexpected delight for the Beastn!

The Beastn were overjoyed. They piled up the coarse salt, and the mound grew steadily larger.

Dongchi and Nan Mo clung to Si Yan. Now that they were eating and drinking well, they were growing quickly. Their snake bodies looked a whole size thicker than when Si Yan had first seen them.

Wang followed nonchalantly behind Si Yan. After she selected a spot for a cave, Wang used his tail to carve out a massive one. He then entered and curled up to rest.

Si Yan was also tired. She sat down on the ground, leaning against the dark purple snake Beastman.

"Great Demon King," she said, "we should have passed this trial."

The snake Beastman shifted his body so she could lean more comfortably, as if nothing outside concerned him.

Si Yan was still thinking about the day’s events. As long as they avoided battle, the snake Beastn would survive. And as long as the snake Beastn of the Delusional Domain survived, wouldn’t that fake turtle in the sky suffer imnsely?!

Si Yan took a short nap to regain her strength and woke up not long after.

Tai Seng heard movent inside the cave and ca in, wagging his tail. "Si Yan," he said, "there are many Beastn outside waiting to see you."

Si Yan smiled. "Which ones?"

"Yin Xiu, Yin Hong, the white eagle Beastman, and that little blue rman."

Si Yan sat up. "Let them in."

Si Yan wasn’t worried they would disturb Wang and the others’ sleep, because in their state of sumr hibernation, they weren’t easily bothered by noise.

"Si Yan!"

Yin Hong, like a long-lost friend, was the first to excitedly greet her. "Si Yan, how are you?"

"I’m doing very well," Si Yan replied with a smile.

Si Yan looked at Yin Xiu, Yin Hong, Yin Qiu, Mu Xiao, and little Lan Hai, saying, "It’s quite plain here, please sit wherever you like."

The Beastn didn’t mind and casually sat on the ground.

Little Lan Hai ran to Si Yan’s side and faced her, his clean little face lit with a bright smile. "Mom!"

Si Yan smiled and beckoned him to sit beside her. "What brings you here? Where are your parents?"

Mu Xiao chid in, "I know about that. The Priest said he has no parents; they’re dead. So, you’re his only mother now."

He and Si Yan had rescued Lan Hai together, so he paid a bit more attention to Lan Hai’s affairs.

Hearing this, Si Yan felt sorry for him. It’d be best to treat him as her own child.

So, when Lan Hai leaned in close, Si Yan didn’t refuse his approach.

The little rman was overjoyed. In his excitent, his legs transford into a long blue fishtail, with swirling rings of seawater magically nourishing it.

"Mother!" he said sweetly.

Si Yan petted his head. "I need to talk to the guests first; we’ll chat later."

Lan Hai nodded, very sensibly and obediently. "Okay, Mother!"

Si Yan looked at the Silver Wolves. Yin Hong hadn’t changed much, but Yin Qiu had changed a lot; she seed more mature.

Si Yan asked, "About what happened with your sire... are you okay?"

Yin Qiu shook her head, a faint smile on her lips. "I’m fine. Sister Si Yan, I’m actually very grateful to you. I often think that if you hadn’t discovered and exposed the matter, and my sire had caused the death of our entire tribe, he would have died of regret. Now, my sire hasn’t done anything wrong, everyone is still alive, and this outco is already wonderful. I couldn’t ask for more."

Yin Hong added, "Si Yan, you saved the Silver Wolf Tribe; the entire tribe is indebted to you. Moreover, Young Master Tai Seng has beco your Guardian Beast. The Silver Wolf Tribe has discussed this thoroughly. We wish to follow you. I heard you’ve joined the Delusional Domain."

Si Yan thought for a mont, then nodded. "More or less."

Yin Hong, Yin Qiu, and Yin Xiu exchanged glances, then Yin Hong asked, "Then, can the Silver Wolf Tribe rge with the Delusional Domain?"

Yin Hong continued, "Not many of us ca this ti, but after we arrived, the remaining Silver Wolf Beastn should be able to find us by our scent. Once they find us, we hope to rge with the Delusional Domain and follow you."

Si Yan was surprised. "Follow ? Are you sure about that?"

Ever since she learned her opponent was that false sky above, she knew her battle would not be simple. She truly needed to gather more and more allies.

Yin Hong nodded firmly. "Yes. Please allow us to follow you."

Si Yan considered. "But joining the Delusional Domain... that has to be agreed upon by Wang."

Hearing this, the cold-blooded snake Beastman on the ground stirred slightly. His long, purple snake tail suddenly moved to Si Yan’s side, its tip resting on her soft little hand.

Yin Hong smiled. "Lady of the Lord, the Lord’s gesture ans you can decide for yourself."

Yin Hong had unconsciously started using honorifics.

Si Yan gently pinched the tip of Wang’s tail in her hand; the sensation was quite novel.

However, the Great Demon King seed unwilling for her to continue pinching his tail tip, and he quickly withdrew his tail.

Si Yan smiled faintly, then said to Yin Hong’s family, "I agree to the Silver Wolf Tribe rging with the Delusional Domain."

Yin Xiu bead. "Excellent, Si Yan—ah, no, Lady of the Lord! Thank you. Our Silver Wolf Tribe may not know much else, but we understand loyalty. You can rest assured of our tribe’s devotion."

Si Yan humd in acknowledgnt.

Yin Xiu left with Yin Qiu and Yin Hong. Yin Hong was sowhat reluctant, looking back every few steps.

Yin Xiu grabbed her ’useless’ son by the ear and dragged him away.

Once the Silver Wolf family had left, only Mu Xiao remained.

Mu Xiao, who seed to have been waiting a long ti, excitedly flapped his wings and hurried over to reminisce as soon as the Silver Wolves left.

"Si Yan, it’s really been a long ti, and you’ve beco even more beautiful! I never imagined! The last ti we t was in the Yanxiang Tribe, and you were just a pitiful little female cub then. And now, eting again in this place, you’ve beco the Lady of the Lord!"

Si Yan smiled lightly. "Mu Xiao, don’t get too excited. Have a seat first."

Mu Xiao plopped down and then began to preen, saying, "Si Yan, after all this ti, haven’t you missed at all? If you ask , snake Beastn are so insidious and dirty. We hawks detest snakes the most. Why don’t you consider a hawk? Look at ! Every one of my feathers is spotless. I’m so clean!"

"Stupid hawk, shut up!" Mu Xiao was being a complete imbecile. Tai Seng couldn’t stand it anymore and started their usual bickering.

Mu Xiao retorted angrily, "Dumb dog! I’m catching up with Si Yan. What right do you have to butt in?!"

However, at that mont, Mu Xiao failed to sense that the tail of the seemingly harmless, cold-blooded snake Beastman lying on the ground had risen high behind him, aid straight at his forehead.

Seeing Wang’s tail, Si Yan quickly stroked his snake scales, attempting to soothe him.

Just then, however, Mu Xiao blurted out, "Si Yan, this snake Beastman behind you, he must be the biological father of your four little snake children, right? Tsk, he’s so irresponsible! He got you pregnant and then didn’t even take care of you. You still want a male like that?"

At that instant, Wang’s tail went rigid.
