Gecko curiously asked, "Alright, you little rascal, what have you thought of?"
Si Yan excitedly replied, "Old Gecko, to survive the Scorching Sun Days, the most important thing is water. As long as we have water, we can ensure everyone’s survival to the greatest extent possible."
Gecko said, "That’s the truth of the matter."
Caves can be dug deeper; the temperature inside a deeper cave is always a little lower than outside.
But water resources are very limited. The evaporation of water, leaving nothing to drink, is the key reason for the deaths of Beastn in the Beast World.
Si Yan asked, "Do you rember how I taught them to store water in the Silver Wolf Tribe? I had them hollow out stones, fill them with water, and seal them tightly so the water wouldn’t evaporate so easily." Her voice grew with excitent, "Why didn’t I think of that on a larger scale? Why didn’t I think of it before?"
Gecko mused, "Making stone water tanks? That thod... could work, but it seems insufficient. Dark Sun Lake doesn’t have enough stones for that many tanks, and the amount of work would be imnse."
Si Yan’s eyes sparkled as she smiled. "Small water tanks aren’t enough, but we can build *large* ones! Old Gecko, we can make cisterns!"
"Cisterns?" Gecko asked.
Si Yan looked up and explained, "Dark Sun Lake has lasted for so long because it’s an underground lake. Although so light gets through from above, it’s not much. In other words, Dark Sun Lake itself is a huge cistern!"
Si Yan’s face glowed with excitent. "Around Dark Sun Lake, there are many other lakes that haven’t dried up yet. These are the ones the tribes outside are currently using. If we build a large cistern next to these lakes and divert water into it, the water in the cistern will evaporate very slowly!"
She continued, "As long as there’s water, wars won’t break out. The serpent Beastn of the Delusional Domain won’t be victimized, right?!"
Gecko looked at the fervent female before him.
If they could conserve water, the outside tribes would have resources and wouldn’t need to fight so desperately. And as long as there was no united siege, the serpent Beastn of the Delusional Domain wouldn’t face persecution. This thod, though crude, went straight to the heart of the matter. She had truly co up with a way to save everyone. However, building cisterns wasn’t sothing one person could accomplish alone.

From afar, a sleek silver figure rapidly approached.
He was strong, tall, majestic, and exuded an air of dominance.
The handso Silver Wolf Beastman had tracked Si Yan by her scent. The mont he saw her, his face lit up. "Si Yan!"
Si Yan looked up at the sound of his voice and waved happily. "Tai Seng!"
Tai Seng leaped gracefully and quickly reached her. He transford into his human form in front of Si Yan, and after fastening his animal-hide skirt, he saw Si Yan sitting on the ground and squatted down before her.
Si Yan knew he had been upset since returning from the Yanxiang Tribe. Seeing him much more cheerful now, she asked with concern, "Are you feeling better?"
Tai Seng smiled. "Si Yan, I’m not a child anymore. I can distinguish right from wrong. The Yanxiang Tribe betrayed my father and my brothers. Now, it has betrayed you too. I can’t tolerate them anymore. Besides, I have a new family now."
Si Yan still felt guilty toward Tai Seng. She said, "Tai Seng, about the Guardian Beast matter, I still want to talk to you again."
Tai Seng seed to understand what she was about to say and suddenly panicked. "Si Yan, are you rejecting because of what happened with the Yanxiang Tribe?"
Tai Seng’s ears and tail drooped. "I know I lost the competition against Lord Wàng Xióng. I not only failed to protect you, but I also caused you trouble. I haven’t been a good Guardian Beast. But please, can you please not abandon ?"
The large silver dog looked truly pitiful.
Si Yan’s heart genuinely softened.
She really did like furry animals.
Si Yan clenched her teeth and said firmly, "But Tai Seng, do you know? My heart is very small; I can only give it to one person. I was also taught from a young age that I can only have one Beast Husband. Since I already have Wàng Xióng, I will not accept any other males, now or in the future. I think we can be friends."
In the Beast World, females were few and males were many; the very structure of their world dictated this. To demand monogamy from other females would surely be madness.
However, Si Yan could control her own choices and choose her own life.
Since she preferred a monogamous life, she intended to continue living that way.
