Si Yan saw the pinkish-purple little snake fall to the ground. It struggled to crawl away but was still discovered by other males.

The males picked it up; they could have crushed it to death easily.

The gecko stretched lazily.

Even though Si Yan knew the Great Demon King had survived, her heart still clenched at this mont.

"Mistress, this is the last one. It seems to be already dead."

The pinkish-purple snake’s head twisted at a fierce angle, then it stopped moving completely.

Tiny Wang, forced to be born prematurely to feign death, had made a trendous effort.

The female was weak after giving birth, but her expression remained cold as she cruelly said, "Throw it to the fish. The crocodiles in the pond behind the mountain are probably starving by now."

"Alright."

Wang, along with his five already dead brothers, was thrown into the pond behind the mountain.

The mother and father beasts of that ti—probably none of them thought he could survive.

But he did survive.

A frail little snake Beastman, without a mother to feed him, he ate anything.

Water bugs on the surface, caterpillars on the ground, flies and mosquitoes in the air.

As long as it kept him alive, he had eaten it all.

The frail little snake Beastman was particularly popular with the wild animals in the forest.

When a flock of birds went after him, he burrowed into the ground, his dim, pale purple eyes looking up at the sky.

Watching such a small cub, who possessed such cold and indifferent eyes, Si Yan felt a pang of bitterness in her heart.

He had probably gotten used to being alone by now, so he didn’t realize how pitiful he was.

Until he was six, he left that forest.

The first bit of kindness he thought he received was when he encountered a Beastman for the first ti after leaving that cruel ho.

He transford into human form. Naked and ignorant of clothing, he ate the cheapest of foods, yet he possessed a raw, natural beauty.

A male leopard Beastman found him.

"Poor little thing, you look so pitiful. Co with ; I’ll take care of you."

It was the first ti the young snake Beastman had seen another of his kind—a Beastman who, like himself, could transform into a human.

Seeing sothing like his own kind for the first ti, Wang hesitated.

He didn’t understand what the male said. Cocking his head, he thought, If this one hurts , I’ll kill him.

The male in front of him didn’t harm him and picked him up.

This was the first ti Wang had ever felt the warmth of an embrace.

When Si Yan saw that Wang’s face finally showed so human-like expressions, her heart eased, and she followed Wang.

The gecko lazily rolled over on Si Yan’s body. "This one’s no good person. He’s a trafficker."

Si Yan’s advancing foot halted.

Then, Wang’s dream shifted rapidly.

The sky seed to be stained crimson.

A Jackal Beastman had roped his neck. His slender form collapsed, and the Jackal Beastman behind him lashed out with a whip.

"What a useless little slave I bought! No strength at all. A waste of my beast hides! You can forget about eating tonight!"

Si Yan’s blood ran cold.

Because she thought of Dongchi and Nan Mo.

Had Dongchi and Nan Mo suffered the sa things he had?

She clenched her fists, her expression growing increasingly grim.

It wasn’t just Si Yan; the young snake’s expression also darkened.

He endured the beatings, yet he learned their language.

"Stop... it," he said.

The Jackal Beastman sneered, "You dare to resist? A cold-blooded snake Beastman that nobody likes—truly worthless scum! I’ll beat you to death! How dare you fight back!"

The young snake stood up. He grabbed the Jackal Beastman’s whip; his figure was gaunt, but his expression was terrifying.

He killed the Jackal Beastman. He gained his freedom.

He wandered once again.

He began to trust no one.

"Have you heard? Myriad Beasts City is the most inclusive city," he overheard so Beastn discussing.

"It’s difficult for us wandering Beastn to be accepted by the Four Main Cities. Should we try our luck in Myriad Beasts City?"

"If Myriad Beasts City won’t offer us shelter, how will we survive the upcoming Day of Blazing Flas?"

Myriad Beasts City.

The young snake looked towards that majestic city.

"Myriad Beasts City?" Si Yan murmured.

The gecko, clinging to her hair, asked, "What’s wrong?"

"I’ve heard of it," Si Yan said.

Si Yan followed Wang to Myriad Beasts City.

She lifted her head. "The sky seems brighter."

The gecko spoke lazily, "That ans this mory in Myriad Beasts City isn’t too bad for him."

...

Myriad Beasts City was bustling with people, exceptionally lively.

However, the people here still despised and detested cold-blooded Beastn.

He wanted to get so food but was chased away instead.

He lifted his head, his senses suddenly sharp.

He had a keen perception of celestial phenona.

The sun felt as if it were drawing nearer, and the weather grew increasingly hot.

The once-in-a-decade Day of Blazing Flas was approaching.

Without the protection of a tribe, a young Beastman cub like him might not survive.

Food was becoming scarcer, and even fewer people were willing to give him any.

He was used to the cold stares and, surprisingly, didn’t feel too upset by them.

Looking up, he saw a magnificent building.

What seed like a magnificent building to other Beastn was, in Si Yan’s eyes, rely a rustic structure.

However, in the culture of the Beast World, to reside in such a rustic structure already signified a considerable status.

The rustic structure was very quiet inside, yet there was the scent of food.

This tiny, dark-purple snake Beastman cub touched his belly. He wanted to sneak in and steal so food.

Being young, with no one to guide or teach him, he had no concept of theft.

He simply believed that stealing was no different from taking. If food was left unattended, it was his for the taking.

The young snake Beastman cub slipped into the rustic structure and indeed saw a small plate of fresh at.

Such fresh at—he hadn’t seen any in a long ti.

He picked up the at and stuffed it directly into his mouth.

The tender food satisfied his stomach, and before he knew it, he had gobbled everything up.

Because it was delicious, after finishing the food, he even licked the plate clean.

It was only when he heard a noise behind him that he suddenly turned around.

Inside the rustic structure, a seemingly three-year-old, adorable little dumpling stared at him with a pair of beautiful, curious eyes.

Silence fell for a mont.

It was then that the young snake cub felt a brief mont of embarrassnt. "Yours?"

The at he ate... it belonged to soone?

The adorable dumpling stared at him with her large, strikingly clear eyes, but her expression was sowhat blank.

The young snake Beastman cub put down the plate, stepped forward, waved a hand in front of her eyes, and then poked her head.

"You watched eat your food and didn’t try to stop . You don’t make a sound when I tease you, and you don’t cry when I poke you."

The young snake Beastman cub lowered his head. "You wouldn’t happen to be a simpleton, would you?"
