At that mont, Qiao Sang's voice rang out: "Yabao, co back."

Yabao turned his head, just about to teleport back to his beast tar’s side.

While Tang Yi was undergoing his test, Qiao Sang stepped aside and summoned Yabao and Lubao.
Under the Healing Light, Yabao quickly recovered.
"Ya yap..."
But his ears drooped, and his expression remained a bit downcast.
He had never lost this badly before.
"You did great. That Steel-Slashing Monkey is a General-level pet beast, and it's clearly been evolved for many years. You’re still young." Qiao Sang comforted.
"Winning or losing in a single battle doesn’t an much. I believe you’ll surpass it soon. When that ti cos, I’ll arrange another match with that instructor."
Losing in an exam was frustrating, especially after a nearly undefeated streak up until now.
But realistically speaking, the opponent was an assessnt instructor at the top university in Dragon Nation, much older than her, with a pet beast of a higher rank. The power gap was natural, it would have been strange if she had won.

Hearing his beast tar’s words, Yabao’s eyes regained their determination.

Once Tang Yi's test ended, Qu Zhuo waved his hand and recalled the Steel-Slashing Monkey into his Beast Taming Codex.
Touyan Ke also put away his filming equipnt.
"Get so good rest at noon." Qu Zhuo looked at Qiao Sang and Tang Yi.
"Let your pet beasts recover properly at the Beast Taming Center. At 2 PM, we’ll begin the pet beast doubles test."
"A reminder: If you want a high score in this test, teamwork between your pet beasts is more important than their individual battle strength."
"I know you probably don’t have much experience with doubles battles yet, so make sure to practice your coordination before the afternoon test. I’m looking forward to your performance."
Qu Zhuo’s attitude was noticeably softer than before.
Qiao Sang and Tang Yi’s impressive showings had montarily made him forget the fact that he had been hospitalized due to a serious injury from the King-level pet beast, Water Source Croc.
At that mont, a chanical voice rang out:
"Stopmourning Bug, a mid-level bug-type pet beast. It spends most of its ti curled up in its shell, growing without the need for food, water, or movent. If you encounter one in its shell, it is advised not to disturb it."
Qu Zhuo turned toward the sound and saw Ghost Ring Phantom holding a pink pet beast identifier, curiously scanning a passing pet beast.
Seeing the Ghost Ring Phantom, he imdiately thought of spatial shift, and that mory he had briefly forgotten ca rushing back.
Qu Zhuo’s previously relaxed expression instantly turned serious.
"Don’t be late this afternoon."
With that, he turned and left with Touyan Ke.
"Sigh." Watching Qu Zhuo’s back, Tang Yi sighed.
"I thought the special recruitnt exam would just be a formality for us, but I couldn’t even last the full test ti before losing. I guess a perfect score is out of reach now."
Qiao Sang glanced at him.
"I lasted until the end."
Tang Yi: ...
"By the way, have you decided which two pet beasts to use in the afternoon test?" Tang Yi asked.
Qiao Sang thought for a mont and replied, "Yabao and Lubao."
Yabao and Lubao had trained their teamwork specifically for the friendly match before. If it weren’t for her wanting to get more points for Gangbao, she probably would have let them team up for the entire friendly match.

Touyan Ke skillfully set up the recording equipnt.
"This doubles test will be fully monitored and livestread to Central Hollow University..." Qu Zhuo recited his usual lines.
Once he finished explaining the rules, he scanned the group and locked eyes on Tang Yi.
"Qiao Sang went first this morning. This afternoon, Tang Yi, you’ll go first."
Tang Yi had no objections and quickly stepped forward.
Qiao Sang quietly moved outside the battle area and picked a good spot to observe.

As that thought crossed her mind, she made a hand seal and summoned Lunao.
Since she had already decided on Yabao and Lunao as her team, it was best to let them familiarize themselves with their potential opponents in advance.

Hearing their beast tar’s words, Lubao and Yabao exchanged a glance before turning their full attention to the match.

Gangbao stood beside hi , replaying the morning’s battle in her mind, silently plucking one of her own feathers and attempting to fling it like a blade.
