Flas suddenly expanded within the swarm of Scale Moths, shooting skyward.
Yabao reverted to his original size and carried Qiao Sang into the sky.
Countless embers rained down. Upon closer inspection, they were actually charred remains of the Scale Moths.
“Scales! Scales!”
A seemingly endless number of Scale Moths lifted their heads, glaring furiously at the culprit above them.
They displayed expressions of anger and surged upward from all directions, surrounding their target.
Qiao Sang looked down at the approaching swarm of bug-type pet beasts, and her scalp instantly tingled.
Any kind of pet beast, when gathered in such numbers, was terrifying!
“Yap!”
Yabao bared his fangs, just about to launch an attack when Qiao Sang quickly ordered:
“Run!”
This was a residential area. Most of the people living here were ordinary citizens. Leaving aside the potential destruction of buildings, the most critical issue was that innocent people could get hurt. The moths had to be lured sowhere uninhabited first.
“Yap!”
Though Yabao didn’t understand why they had to flee, he still obeyed his Beastmaster’s command without hesitation and turned to escape.
The Scale Moth swarm pursued relentlessly.
“What is that?!” On the streets, passersby looked up in shock.
The dense swarm of Scale Moths in the sky seed to block out half of the sunlight.
“Oh my god! Why are there so many Scale Moths all of a sudden?!”
“This is terrifying! Where did they even co from?”
“Look! It looks like they’re chasing sothing!”
“Oh, heavens! There’s a person riding that pet beast!”
“Mom…” A little girl a hundred ters away clutched her mother’s clothes tightly, staring at the sky with instinctive fear.
“It’s going to be okay…” Maiya murmured.
By now, she understood what had happened. The Scale Moths had awakened for so unknown reason. The young Beast master who took on her task had realized the danger and sohow teleported them to safety, choosing instead to risk their own life to lure the swarm away.
She’s just a kid herself… Maiya’s eyes welled with tears. Then, as if recalling sothing, she pulled out her phone and dialed the ergency number.

Damn it, how did they wake up so suddenly? Qiao Sang sat atop Yabao, occasionally glancing back at the swarm, completely puzzled.
Also, she was totally unfamiliar with the area! Where could she find a place with no people?
As she pondered, she suddenly felt an unexplained itch spreading across her body. Her head throbbed as well.
If she could see herself now, she’d realize her entire body was covered in red blotches, her face swollen beyond recognition.
“Xun! Xun!”
Little Treasure, carrying three others, used Shadow Bind to teleport Mura Monster and the others onto Yabao’s back.
Just as Qiao Sang turned her head.
Little Treasure took one look at his Beast master’s appearance, his eyes widening in shock before he let out a piercing scream.
“Xun! Xun!”
The next second, tears welled up in his eyes, streaming down like raindrops. He looked as if Qiao Sang had contracted so terminal illness.
Qiao Sang was utterly baffled, but she had no ti to dwell on it. She quickly took out her phone, opening the navigation app to search for a suitable location.
Soon, she found an area that wasn’t residential.
“Yabao, turn left!” Qiao Sang confird the direction.
“Yap!”
Yabao obediently changed course.
Both Yabao and Little Treasure could teleport. Little Treasure, in particular, could move through space freely, making it easy to escape from a swarm of mid-tier pet beasts.
However, if their retreat put nearby civilians in danger, Qiao Sang wouldn’t be able to forgive herself.
Should I just lure them to the police station?
For a fleeting mont, that thought crossed her mind.
But she quickly dismissed it.
Police stations were typically located in city centers. With so many Scale Moths, even a minor mishap could affect bystanders.
With that in mind, Qiao Sang directed Yabao northwest.
At that mont, Nada Pong slowly regained consciousness.
He opened his eyes to find himself being chased by a massive swarm of Scale Moths, nearly passing out again from sheer fright.
Noticing the movent behind her, Qiao Sang turned back.
“You’re awake?”
She hadn’t abandoned him, hoping that once he woke up, he could help deal with the swarm. After all, he was a C-rank Beast master with a General-tier pet beast. Having him around would definitely make things easier.
Just as she was about to explain the situation, the middle-aged man before her suddenly let out a terrified scream.
“Ahhh!”
He shut his eyes, tilted his head, and fainted on the spot.
Qiao Sang: ???
Wait a minute. You didn’t faint when you saw the swarm of Scale Moths, but you pass out after looking at ? Isn’t that a bit rude?
For a brief mont, Qiao Sang had the urge to kick him off Yabao’s back.
The itchiness on her body, coupled with Little Treasure and Nada Pong's reactions, made Qiao Sang realize sothing was wrong with her.
It was most likely caused by the earlier encounter when she was surrounded by the Scale Moths at the door.
But now wasn’t the ti to worry about that. The priority was getting the swarm to an unpopulated area.
By carefully controlling his speed, Yabao arrived at a desolate wilderness.
Qiao Sang looked down and saw a large water pond, with no other creatures in sight.
This will do… She withdrew her gaze and turned toward the relentless swarm of Scale Moths.
anwhile, below, a pet beast that closely resembled a rock was rolling forward, arriving late to the scene.
It lifted its eyes, which emitted a faint green glow, and glanced at the aerial battle.
Finally, it could stop running. It was exhausted…

Elsewhere, Qu Zhuo stared at the computer screen, his expression changing drastically as a water pond flashed across the image.
It’s over. This ti, it’s really over!
If he rembered correctly, that pond was the habitat of a King-tier pet beast, Source Water Croc!
“Peering Wave Eagle, faster!” Qu Zhuo urged.
“Peep peep!”
Peering Wave Eagle let out a cry and picked up speed.

“teor Shower!” Qiao Sang commanded.
“Yap!”
Yabao raised his head slightly, forming a searing crimson energy sphere in his mouth.
The Scale Moths flapped their wings, releasing a massive cloud of fine scales, resembling a desert storm, that swept toward Qiao Sang.
“Xun! Xun!”
Still imrsed in despair over his Beast master’s terminal illness, Little Treasure suddenly sensed danger.
He quickly sniffled, withdrew Shadow Bind, and, without even wiping his tears, started gathering energy.
A translucent barrier rapidly ford in front of him.
Looking at the small shield that barely covered his own body, Little Treasure fell into deep thought.
Just then, Qiao Sang’s voice rang in its ears:
“Little Treasure, control Lubao!”
An orange star array lit up in the sky.
The next second, Lubao appeared within the array.
She didn’t fall but instead hovered mid-air, just like Yabao.
anwhile, Little Treasure's eyes had turned blue.
“Icy Wind!” Qiao Sang commanded.
“Lu!”
Lubao took in the scene before her and, without hesitation, opened her mouth. The temperature plumted.
A terrifying chill froze most of the approaching scale dust in an instant.
But the Scale Moths were simply too many.
Even as Lubao unleashed its Icy Wind, so had already reached overhead.
At that mont, the fiery rain began to fall.
