Luo Qian swallowed his words.

Qin Wen was fierce and rigid.

If she found out that he hadn’t followed the proper procedures to invite a student to the coordination team early, she’d probably give him a real scolding...

Luo Qian glanced at the figure flying beside Qin Wen and froze. Why was Vice Principal’s Sky Bat here too?

“What’s the na of Teacher Xian’s pet beast? It looks familiar, but I can’t rember the na.” Qiao Sang asked.

“It’s called the Sky Bat, a pet beast from the Lianke region. You probably recognize it because it was trending recently, the scandal about that actor, Gao Xuan, faking a rescue.” Jin Feifan explained.

Qiao Sang was stunned for a mont but quickly rembered.

Gao Xuan was a B-list celebrity. In this world, movies and TV dramas didn’t have the sa massive following they did in her past life.

Most celebrities rose to fa through their association with pet beasts, and Gao Xuan’s fa largely ca from his psychic-type pet, the Mind-Eye Eagle.

Gao Xuan once used his Mind-Eye Eagle to save over 23 people during a landslide at a film set, and the incident was captured on behind-the-scenes footage, leading to his rise to fa.

However, it was recently exposed that the real rescuer wasn’t Gao Xuan’s Mind-Eye Eagle, but a passing beast tar who used a Sky Bat.

The blue glow on the Mind-Eye Eagle in the footage was just preparation for the next scene, and it happened to coincide with the rescue.

The beast tar left imdiately after saving the people, and those rescued, in their panic, didn’t realize what had happened. The edited footage misled the public.

The person who exposed this was the caraman who fild the behind-the-scenes footage.

Qiao Sang had only skimd the news back then and didn’t pay much attention.

No wonder it seed familiar but hard to na...

“Xian.”

Just as Qiao Sang finished recalling, Teacher Xian suddenly teleported in front of her.

“Whoa…” Qiao Sang quickly changed her exclamation.

Teacher Xian glanced at the paper clutched in his claws and then at Qiao Sang.

“Teacher Xian, this is Qiao Sang.” Qin Wen said with a smile, turning to Qiao Sang.

“The vice principal is looking for you.”

Qiao Sang was taken aback and hadn’t yet processed it when Teacher Xian waved his right claw, and in an instant, they both vanished.

“…”

The group fell silent.

A mont later, Zheng Yining approached Jin Feifan and asked, “Do you think the vice principal calling Qiao over is a bad sign?”

Friends of friends are still friends. The girl had just co over with Qiao Sang, and they were chatting together, so it was obvious they were close.

Jin Feifan blinked, surprised soone had initiated a conversation with her.

“I don’t think it’s anything serious.” she replied quietly.

But in her heart, she wasn’t so sure. Being called to a teacher’s office was rarely good news, let alone being called by the vice principal.

Luo Qian, having snapped out of his daze, approached curiously, “What does the vice principal want with Qiao Sang?”

Qin Wen glanced at him and responded, “Good news.”

Luo Qian: …

---

anwhile, Qiao Sang stared resentfully at the man in a white lab coat with ticulously combed hair.

Next ti, could Teacher Xian at least give her a heads-up before teleporting her?

A person with a weak heart might not survive such a scare!

“Vice Principal, you were looking for ?” Qiao Sang asked, forcing a smile.

“Yes, have a seat.” Liu Yao said while pouring a bottle of red liquid into a test tube.

Qiao Sang took in her surroundings.

Unlike the last ti she was in his office, this room was filled with all kinds of precision instrunts. The humidity and temperature were clearly controlled—it was obviously a laboratory.

She found a stool near the lab bench and sat down.

Yabao, her pet dog, curiously sniffed at the potion Liu Yao was concocting, his nose twitching.

“Yap!”

It slls so good!

Liu Yao chuckled at Fire Fang Dog’s behavior.

“Xian, bring out the fruit.”

“Xian.”

The Sky Bat responded and disappeared in an instant.

When it reappeared, there was a plate of cherry-sized red fruits, covered in spiral patterns, floating beside it.

A second later, the fruit appeared in front of Qiao Sang on the lab bench.

“Yap!”

Yabao’s attention imdiately shifted to the fruit. He leaned in and sniffed, his eyes lighting up.

“Xun~”

Little Treasure, her other pet, curiously floated over to take a whiff as well.

But soon, he floated back to his owner’s head, focusing his gaze on the Sky Bat instead.

Clearly, Little Treasure found the bat more interesting than the fruit.

Qiao Sang eyed the fruit in front of her with a bit of embarrassnt.

I can’t believe I’ve lived this long and still can’t recognize so types of fruit...

What’s this called again?

But it’s not really her fault. There were too many types of fruits in this world, each region, country, and even planet had its own specialties.

She had mostly eaten the common fruits from the Yuhua region.

The vice principal, being an A-level beast breeder, was wealthy, so it wasn’t unusual for him to snack on exotic fruits from faraway places.

Even though she didn’t recognize it, she couldn’t let that show.

“Thank you, Vice Principal.” Qiao Sang said as she picked up one of the red fruits, pretending to put it in her mouth.

“Yap.”

Yabao happily grabbed a fruit with his paw, ready to eat it as well.

“Wait!” Liu Yao’s normally calm voice suddenly rose an octave.

Qiao Sang flinched. “What’s wrong?”

“Yap?”

Yabao blinked, the fruit frozen near his mouth.

Liu Yao’s eye twitched as he explained, “That’s the Flaming Fruit, only fire-type pet beasts can eat it.”

To emphasize, he added, “Humans can’t eat it.”

Qiao Sang: …

This is social death...

“Haha, I knew that. Here, Yabao, eat up.” Qiao Sang forced a couple of awkward laughs and stuffed the fruit into Yabao’s mouth.

“Yap…”

Yabao’s mouth was conveniently wide open, and he reflexively ate the fruit.

“Fang!”

Delicious!

He could feel energy surging inside, his body heating up, as if his power was increasing!

After swallowing the red fruit, Yabao imdiately gobbled up the one he was still holding.

“Haha, slow down, don’t rush, there’s more.” Qiao Sang awkwardly laughed, picking up another fruit to feed him.

Liu Yao: …

“Teacher Qin contacted earlier. She said your Firefang’s energy value has reached 13,966.” Liu Yao said.

Qiao Sang froze. Could the vice principal be looking for her because Yabao was so outstanding?

“Mm.” She nodded while continuing to feed Yabao.

“Do you know the energy value range for a basic pet beast?” Liu Yao asked.

Could it be that Firefang’s energy value had exceeded the normal range for basic pet beasts?

Qiao Sang had a guess.

But she didn’t panic. Even if Yabao’s energy was beyond the norm, what did that an?

It ant excellence!

“15,000?” Qiao Sang guessed a number.

Liu Yao shook the test tube in his hand and said seriously, “It’s 1 to 10,000. Normally, a basic pet beast would evolve when its energy value reaches 10,000.”

“For those that require assistance to evolve, it’s because their energy has hit a ceiling and can no longer increase, so they need help to break through.”

“But there’s always an exception.”
