In the blink of an eye, half a month had passed.
In the early morning, Liu Hong gathered Chu Chen and the others in the square.
Seeing the puzzled faces of the students, he didn’t intend to keep them in suspense and directly said, "There are ten days left until the end of the training camp. During these ten days, I will assign trial tasks to you to test what you’ve learned during this period."
Everyone was delighted upon hearing this. Other than the previous battle with the Blood God Sect, they had mostly been studying in the training camp during this ti.
Wang Lei and the others had already been restless for a long ti, and hearing they could fight again, they were naturally overjoyed.
However, Liu Hong’s next words caused everyone’s expressions to change.
"Don’t be too happy too soon. This task won’t be easy. You cannot form teams, nor can you receive outside help. If the task isn’t completed, you will be punished. As for what the punishnt is, I guess you wouldn’t want to find out."
Everyone’s expressions changed collectively at these words. Although Liu Hong’s tone wasn’t harsh, his words carried a sense of intimidation.
They all understood Liu Hong’s thods, especially Wang Lei, who had been on the receiving end multiple tis and knew how ruthless he could be.
Seeing their reactions, Liu Hong nodded in satisfaction and said, "These tasks are tailored to your abilities. Now co and receive your tasks." With that, he took out seven tokens from the Spatial Ring, each with a na written on the front.
Liu Hong took out a token and said solemnly, "Chu Chen, co up and receive your task." With that, he handed over the token.
Chu Chen quickly stepped forward to take the token.
The token was small, about the size of a palm, with a majestic Cyan Dragon carved at the top and his na beneath it. On the back were so tiny characters.
"Clear the Celestial Wolf Mountain Range."
Seeing this, Chu Chen was taken aback. He had no idea where the Celestial Wolf Mountain Range was or how many mountains there were.
Before long, Long Yunxiao, Wang Lei, and the others had also received their tasks.
Seeing the bewildered looks on everyone’s faces, Chu Chen seed to have a sudden realization.
At this mont, Liu Hong clapped his hands to draw everyone’s attention.
"You’ve all received your task details. As for the location, you’ll need to find out on your own. I will be here ten days from now at the sa ti to wait for you." After saying this, Liu Hong turned and left.
Chu Chen and the others exchanged glances, their expressions turning a bit grim.
"Brother Chen, what do we do about this?" Wang Lei asked, sowhat frustrated.
Hearing this, Chu Chen thought for a mont before saying seriously, "In an area with hardly a soul within a thousand miles, we can only rely on the training camp to gather information."
"Brother Chen, stop holding back. Just tell us what we should do,"
Chu Chen pointed to a room not far away and said, "I think there’s sothing we need over there."
The six of them quickly looked in the direction of Chu Chen’s finger, and then showed so expressions of understanding.
Chu Chen was pointing to the training camp’s library.
It’s understandable that Long Yunxiao and the others hadn’t thought of this place at first.
The library contained mostly assorted books that were of no help in improving abilities.
Chu Chen was able to think of this place because he had been there a few tis, reading so notes recorded by adventuring Beast Masters.
Looking at the dusty books on the shelves, Wang Lei asked sowhat helplessly, "Brother Chen, what exactly are we looking for?"
Long Yunxiao and the others also looked at Chu Chen, clearly without a specific goal.
Seeing this, Chu Chen said rather helplessly, "We’re of course looking for a map, but the chances of finding one are slim."
"Why is that?" Wang Lei quickly asked.
"Don’t forget, this is a task personally given by Elder Liu. With his personality, there’s no way he’d leave a map here."
Wang Lei nodded heavily upon hearing this, "That’s true. Then why are we here?"
Chu Chen pointed to the notes on the shelves and said, "There are a lot of notes left by adventuring Beast Masters here. Maybe we can find so clues."
With those words, everyone seed to understand and imdiately started searching the bookshelves without hesitation.
anwhile, Liu Hong was sipping tea in the next room, naturally aware of Chu Chen and the others’ actions.
"Teacher, it seems we underestimated these little guys," Duan Yanyang said with a smile, putting down his teacup.
Hearing this, Liu Hong shook his head, "This kid does have so cleverness, but cleverness alone won’t complete the task."
Duan Yanyang nodded at this, "Teacher, isn’t the difficulty of this task a bit too high, especially for Chu Chen? Without using Lei Yao, his chances of completing it are slim."
Waving his hand, Liu Hong replied, "You underestimate him. His Guardian Beast has already evolved successfully. His strength has increased by at least fifty percent. If he’s not hiding his abilities, he has at least a thirty percent chance of completing the task."
"Thirty percent isn’t that high," Duan Yanyang muttered in a low voice.
Liu Hong snorted coldly, "Do you think becoming the sect leader’s disciple is easy? Once he goes out, he represents our whole Daoist School. Naturally, I have to set higher standards for him."
As they were talking, Chu Chen and his group made so progress.
"Brother Chen, look here, it notes details about the Celestial Wolf Mountain Range," Wang Lei exclaid excitedly while shaking the book in his hand.
Upon hearing this, everyone quickly gathered around.
It’s ironic because although Chu Chen was the first to co up with the thod, he was the last to find any clues.
Though each of them was eager to tackle the task, they didn’t want to leave Chu Chen behind to search on his own since he hadn’t found anything yet.
Receiving the book, Chu Chen began to read it closely. The others waited patiently by his side.
A mont later, Chu Chen slowly closed the book, his expression quite grim.
Seeing this, Long Yunxiao and the others quickly took the book to check.
"The Celestial Wolf Mountain Range has ten entire peaks, each massive, and the Star Beasts within are extrely powerful. Are you sure Elder Liu isn’t targeting you?" Wang Lei exclaid.
"It’s quite possible. I initially thought Elder Liu was deliberately targeting , but now it seems he’s quite fond of ," Zhang Wei comnted, sowhat sentintally.
Frowning, Chu Chen said, "Alright, stop speculating. We only have ten days. Let’s hurry up and get on with our tasks."
His words suddenly snapped everyone out of it, and after offering so words of comfort to Chu Chen, they hurriedly rushed to their task locations.
At this mont, Zhang Yuyan ca up to Chu Chen and softly consoled him, "Your task indeed seems tough. Why not talk to Elder Liu about it?"
Chu Chen smiled and replied, "No need. I trust Elder Liu’s character; he must have his reasons for doing this. Also, each of our tasks is different, and the difficulty likely matches our individual abilities. Since he gave such a task, it ans I have the capability to complete it."
Hearing this, Zhang Yuyan smiled sweetly and said, "Since you’re so confident, I won’t persuade you otherwise. Be careful with everything."
"Yeah, you too. See you in ten days."
