Chapter 667: Chapter 662: Dark Emperor’s Corpse?
Bai Qi’s discussion reached the ears of the Cowskin Snake, which only seed to irritate it further. Emitting a howl, it released a dragon-like roar, surprising the group and causing them to gaze at it.
What was once a four-legged snake was now emitting a series of bronze light. Two small tumours had grown out of its bald back and were rapidly getting bigger. Before they knew it, these tumours had transford into a pair of wings.
“I wonder if this is the result of so activation of its bloodline due to extre agitation?”
Bai Qi couldn’t help but roll his eyes at the sight. The Cowskin Snake, noticing its transformation, was thrilled and tried to fly out of the cavern with its wings.
Unfortunately, the snake didn’t get far before it ran out of strength. Looking back, it saw that its wings had stopped growing and were only half the size of its limbs, aning they couldn’t support its weight.
As a result, the Cowskin Snake, who had just tried to showcase its transformation, fell yet again. Fortunately, Delta transported it back just in ti, saving it from further humiliation.
...
“How is it that you soak in the Ti Secret Realm from day to night, and still your bloodline has not reverted?”
Bai Qi grasped the Cowskin Snake, rather helpless.
Although he liked to tease this creature, Bai Qi was nonetheless hopeful that the Cowskin Snake could recover its Bronze Dragon bloodline.
However, there had been no recent progress, and Bai Qi was growing impatient.
“I’m not sure why. I’ve certainly been absorbing the Power of Ti very seriously, but for so reason, I can’t store it.”
The Cowskin Snake seed crestfallen, its head drooping listlessly.
“Storing the Power of Ti? Delta, is that what you do too?”
Burble, burble.
(Not exactly. Delta has the ability to tap into the river of ti and manipulate the Power of Ti as he pleases.)
Delta shook his head and added.
“Perhaps the Bronze Dragon and the Candle Dragon manipulate ti in different ways.”
Bai Qi patted the head of the Cowskin Snake and said, “Oh well, it’s like having a pet, it’s not a big deal.”
“Damn it, I’m not a pet! I am the great Ti Guardian, the Bronze Dragon!”
Clearly unsatisfied, the Cowskin Snake loudly asserted its existence. Its frantic voice echoed through the cave.
Suddenly, there was a rumbling in the cave, followed by the sound of orderly footsteps. The sound grew louder as whoever it was approached them.
Clik-clak, clik-clak.
(Boss, there are quite a few moving rcenaries coming our way.)
Alpha stood in front of Bai Qi and said.
“Moving rcenaries?”
Bai Qi looked at the Cowskin Snake. The snake, realizing it had made another blunder, silently retreated.
“Alpha, can you control these moving rcenaries?”
Bai Qi asked.
Clik-clak, clik-clak.
(So I can, but others are blocked by so power, so it’s not possible.)
Alpha shook his head, then gripped the Sword of Silent Annihilation and headed into the cave.
Soon, the sound of Golden Iron Collision echoed, signaling the start of a major battle. However, the sound faded quickly, and in a mont, Alpha erged from the shadows and returned to Bai Qi’s side.
Clik-clak, clik-clak.
(Boss, it’s all taken care of.)
Alpha’s tone was casual, as though he’d rely gone for a little stroll. This nonchalant deanor made Beta increasingly jealous.
Awrooo, awrooo…
(Damn skeleton, you just wait. Soon, I’ll be able to do that too…)
“And just like that, the issue’s resolved?”
Bai Qi was surprised but continued forward with Alpha.
At first, the cave was dark and deep, making it seem peculiar even to Bai Qi, who could see with his Shadow Law. He had the Insect Guards light up the path.
However, as soon as the Bright Sun shone its green rays to illuminate the cave, the atmosphere turned eerily strange.
“It seems that combining these skills is not always a good thing.”
Bai Qi sighed and switched to Schuck’s panoramic lights, which provided a more comforting glow.
Soon, the group had passed through the long corridor and stepped into a large cavern.
Inside, besides the moving rcenaries whom Alpha had killed, there was only a Dark Gold Throne in the center. Above the throne rested a figure in dark gold armour, and in front of the figure, a decaying skeleton was kneeling.
“Could that figure be the Dark Emperor?”
Bai Qi glanced at the two figures and asked.
Given the apparent connection between this place and the Dark Emperor, and the presence of the Dark Gold Throne, it seed plausible.
“The kneeling human is the one I saw two thousand years ago.”
Unexpectedly, Icefoot Sea Lice King spoke.
“How do you know?”
Bai Qi was sowhat confused, but he soon noticed a mask of sorts on the face of the kneeling skeleton. It was difficult to see clearly because its back was turned toward them.
However, with this new information, Bai Qi was beginning to piece together the situation.
“It’s possible that this is where the Dark Emperor died four thousand years ago. Then, two thousand years ago, a follower of the Dark Emperor, or perhaps one of his descendants, ca here but never left for so reason.”
“Later, others ca searching for this place and also never left, leading to rumors of a treasure in this place.”
After organizing his thoughts, Bai Qi’s interest in this place only increased.
Although it could be said the Dark Emperor was notorious in human history, his power was undoubted, however, it was quite shabby that he ended up in such a dilapidated mountain cave after his death.
But more likely, there were so things hidden here that he didn’t know about.
With this in mind, Bai Qi casually picked up a stone from the ground, weighed it in his hand, and suddenly threw it toward the central throne.
With Bai Qi current power, the stone flew fast and quickly arrived in front of the throne, but just as it was about to hit the throne’s armor, the stone mysteriously disappeared.
Blub blub.
(Boss, the space of this cave seems to have been folded, and the technique is quite clever, it’s hard to detect.)
“Indeed, it was at least the burial mound of an emperor, it wouldn’t have been normal otherwise.”
Bai Qi had a look on his face that indicated he wasn’t surprised, and said, “Delta, can you break it?”
Blub blub.
(I’ll try.)
Delta nodded slightly, revealing his Divine Dragon true form, and then closed his eyes and began sensing the void.
Gradually, a ripple emanated from Delta and slowly spread outward, growing larger as it moved further out, eventually becoming a wave.
At the sa ti, the originally cramped-looking cave also beca wider, and the distance between Bai Qi and the throne gradually widened.
Bai Qi looked all around, while the cave had gotten bigger, it was still like it was folded, each distance showing a sudden change in the space.
Blub blub.
(Master, the space here is too large, Delta can’t flatten them all.)
Delta felt a bit guilty. The manipulation of space was his advantage, but he couldn’t fix it smoothly, which was a bit unacceptable.
“Don’t worry about it. The Dark Emperor was at least at the Legendary level, it’s normal not to be able to flatten it.”
Bai Qi reassured Delta with a smile, “Besides, we have pretty much figured out the general situation here.”
Although the space here was still folded, compared to the seamless state it was in before, it was much better now. At least they could predict what they might encounter in advance.
“But for safety’s sake, let’s send so people to scout out the road first.”
“Leave the scouting to us.”
Hearing Bai Qi’s words, Schuck volunteered to summon the chanical apostles to scout the way, but he was stopped by him.
“Looking at these living subjects, so traps may only work on flesh and blood creatures; chanical apostles won’t work.”
“If it’s a flesh and blood creature, leave it to .”
Upon hearing those words, Insect Grass imdiately moved forward, planning to send the Insect Guards to explore.
“No, you don’t have all your Insect Guards yet, there’s no need to hurry, and besides, don’t we have a great guide right here?”
Bai Qi dismissed the idea with a wave of his hand, turned his head to look at the Icefoot Sea Lice King, and a malicious smile suddenly appeared on his face.
…
A mont later.
The Icefoot Sea Lice King, with the help of a set of flying and reconnaissance equipnt, returned to Bai Qi’s side, still bearing so faint signs of injuries from being attacked, but by the ti it landed, they had mostly healed.
“Fourth round of exploration is over, 97 percent of the traps detected data overlaps with the third round, do we need to do another round?”
Schuck quickly extracted the data from the equipnt and compared it with the previous rounds, then reported to Bai Qi afterwards.
“No need, a trap that can’t even attract a Legendary Beast, trying again would yield the sa result.”
Bai Qi shook his head, and Schuck swiftly prepared a map of the route ahead.
“Perhaps we should try again, although I can protect you, for the sake of safety, it’d be better to attempt once more.”
A certain cautious Green Dragon offered his opinion, “How about, let give it a try?”
“No need, you just need to protect later.”
Bai Qi waved his hand, “Besides, if such a resilient creature as the Icefoot Sea Lice King didn’t trigger anything, it’s likely nothing else would.”
“Crafty humans, the Sea Beasts of the South Sea will definitely regret working with you!”
The Icefoot Sea Lice King, who had been used as live bait, was full of displeasure, mumbled to himself, but suddenly realized a pair of dog eyes were fixed on him.
Woof woof?
(Did I just hear you badmouthing humans?)
“Ahahaha… of course not, I didn’t say anything.”
Caught by Beta, the Icefoot Sea Lice King shook his head repeatedly, “How could I possibly badmouth humans, especially after being so cooperative already?”
Woof woof…..
(Really? What a pity…)
Beta seed a little disappointed to hear this. Even a Legendary Sea Beast was so subdued, Bone Stink must be very strong to have scared those guys to such an extent.
The road to surpassing Bone Stink was long and arduous.
“Beta, what are you mumbling about?”
Seeing Beta mumbling to himself, Bai Qi couldn’t help but call out, then instructed, “Hurry up and push the Icefoot Sea Lice King to the front to lead the way, we are about to set off.”
Woof woof!
(Got it!)
Beta nodded in acknowledgnt and then gave a hefty push to the device holding the Icefoot Sea Lice King, moving forward along the route Schuck had analyzed.
Although they had explored a few tis, they still needed to be careful. After all, the Icefoot Sea Lice King’s vitality was robust, and average injuries would not affect it.
