Chapter 35 Break the Beast Control Contract by Force and Leave Candlefire Mountain!

Qiao Gubai’s pet beast was a Stone Drill Worm, but its growth potential was too low, only capable of reaching the Bronze level at most.

Such limited growth was far beneath her beast taming talent.

Coincidentally, Bai Zian had recently obtained three spirit beast eggs of the Mutated Candlefire Spider. Bai Zian intended to let Qiao Gubai contract one of these eggs. This idea had already ford in Bai Zian’s mind when he first acquired the eggs.

However, since he hadn’t fully gained control over Qiao Gubai at the ti, he only brought it up now.

As for Bai Zian himself, to be honest, he was close to advancing to the Black Iron level.

Once he becos a Black Iron Beast Master, he would be able to contract a second pet. However, Bai Zian didn’t plan to contract one of the Mutated Candlefire Spider eggs.

Although the Mutated Candlefire Spider was considered a decent spirit beast, with its Golden-level potential, Bai Zian wasn’t too interested in it.

After all, his first pet, the White Scale Fish, started off with three innate talents and possessed the potential of a Monarch-level beast. With such a precedent, how could he settle for a beast with only Gold-level potential?

In Bai Zian’s eyes, the Mutated Candlefire Spider was more suited as a reward for his subordinates, just like how he was currently gifting one of its eggs to Qiao Gubai.

Naturally, Qiao Gubai was unaware of Bai Zian’s thoughts. However, upon hearing his offer, she was overjoyed.

She hadn’t expected to receive such a valuable gift shortly after pledging allegiance to him—a spirit beast egg with Gold-level potential.

If she contracted it, wouldn’t she have the potential to beco a Gold-level Beast Tar? How could she not be excited?

But amidst her excitent, Qiao Gubai also felt a sense of disbelief. After all, her previous dream was just to beco a Silver-level Beast Tar. Now, the opportunity to beco a Gold-level Beast Master was right before her. This surreal feeling overwheld her.

“How about it? Would you like to contract the spirit beast egg of the Mutated Candlefire Spider?” Bai Zian’s voice snapped Qiao Gubai back to reality.

“Thank you, I will definitely repay your kindness,” she responded hurriedly. Unlike before, this ti, she didn’t refuse.

On one hand, the lure of a Gold-level spirit beast egg was too great. On the other hand, her status had changed—she was now one of Bai Zian’s subordinates. Even if she grew stronger, she would still serve him.

So, without any hesitation, she randomly selected one of the three eggs.

“Truly blessed with luck. She picked the one with the best potential,” Bai Zian murmured to himself.

Among the three eggs, there were varying levels of quality, and the best one had top-tier Gold-level potential. And that was the one Qiao Gubai had chosen.

Bai Zian rely sighed in admiration but didn’t say much.

Even more excited, Qiao Gubai proceeded to contract the egg on the spot. However, because she wasn’t yet at the Black Iron level, she couldn’t contract a new pet unless she severed her current bond with the Stone Drill Worm.

Indeed, a beast tar could dissolve the contract with their pet. So powerful beast tars had done so because, as they grow stronger, certain lower-level pets no longer suit their needs in battle.

Choosing a pet with greater potential to boost their strength isn’t uncommon. However, breaking a contract does co with so backlash for the beast tar.

But compared to the reward of a Gold-level spirit beast egg, the backlash ant little to Qiao Gubai. So, without hesitation, she prepared to break the contract with her Stone Drill Worm.

Typically, there were two thods for beast tars to re-contract a new pet. The first thod was to forcibly break the existing contract and release the pet. The second thod was for the current pet to die. If the pet dies, the contract space becos vacant, allowing the master to form a new bond.

Comparatively, the second thod causes less backlash to the beast tar. However, many beast tars frown upon and even prohibit the second thod.

After all, people have feelings, and a pet isn’t just a tool but a companion.

The goal of contracting a stronger pet is to improve oneself. But in such circumstances, killing one’s pet just to minimize the backlash is seen as too ruthless.

As a result, this practice was banned by the Jiuzhou Federation.

Bai Zian said nothing more, silently observing Qiao Gubai, curious to see what she would do.

This was also a test of her character. Every decision reveals sothing about a person’s nature, making it worth paying attention to.

Crack!

A faint sound of breaking could be heard, and a bewildered Stone Drill Worm appeared before Qiao Gubai. Her face turned pale, and she looked a bit drained.

She had chosen the first thod—forcefully breaking the contract and releasing the Stone Drill Worm instead of killing it.

Though the backlash was significant, Bai Zian’s eyes glead with approval, pleased with her decision.

After a short while, Qiao Gubai recovered slightly and began the process of contracting the Mutated Candlefire Spider egg. After so effort, she successfully ford the contract and stored the egg in her pet space.

“All right, now that we’re done here, we should leave Candlefire Mountain,” Bai Zian said, addressing Qiao Gubai.

His purpose for coming to the mountain had been to train his White Scale Fish.

Now that it had reached the ninth stage of the Unranked, only one step away from Black Iron, it was ti to return to Bai Lin City to prepare for the first evolution of the White Scaled Fish.
