Vol 4 Chapter 86: The Most Bizarre Challenger

Treasure hunting—ideally for sothing that extends lifespan.

Warfare—seizing weapons and equipnt during battles.

A new chanical tortoise born from the fusion of a Longevity Turtle and a War Weapon Spirit, with both obsessions locked into its body and soul.

After being released by Lin Jing, this little tortoise chose to travel in the direction of the Yunhai Mountain Range.

As for this travel route, the chanical Tortoise was quite pleased.

After all, a place like Yunhai Mountain Range, with frequent deaths and countless unclaid storage pouches lying around desolate corners, was ideal for it to shine...

Still, the chanical Tortoise hadn’t forgotten Lin Jing’s main task for it—attempt to challenge the Holy Son of the Wu God Hall, who was currently ranked ninth on the Destiny Gold List.

This journey wasn’t exactly short. Most cultivators at the Nascent Soul Transformation Stage would take a long ti to make the trip. The Weapon Spirit, however, was an exception—it could control all sorts of supre flying swords, top-tier vehicles, and even space-based magical treasures to get there.

For most Nascent Soul cultivators, using high-grade magical treasures was the most practical. Their spiritual power recovery speed could keep up with the consumption required to drive these treasures, making for the most sustainable combat.

Using supre-grade magical treasures wasn’t impossible either, but it required extra effort based on the quality of the treasure, making them unsuitable for prolonged combat.

As for quasi-immortal artifacts, unless one had special cultivation techniques or constitutions, Nascent Soul cultivators simply couldn’t activate them. Even if they could unleash a single blow, they’d be completely drained—and even then, the artifact might not unleash even a tenth of its full power...

But as a weapon born of war, the Weapon Spirit was different. It had an innate advantage. Now that its Nascent Soul cultivation had been unlocked, it could fully activate quasi-immortal artifacts, and the effort required was no more than a typical Nascent Soul cultivator using a high-grade magical treasure—perhaps even less.

This overpowered ability, combined with Lin Jing handing over several quasi-immortal artifacts from past loot, ant that even Lin Jing had no idea what kind of explosive power the chanical Tortoise could unleash. But it was safe to say—it would definitely be the strongest in the current team...

...

Wu God Hall was a cultivation sect made up of ancient Wu tribes who believed in gods.

And the Holy Son of Wu God Hall was one of those most capable of communicating with the gods, able to easily channel the power of ancient deities.

"Ma no ku sa, da mu sha ye, ka ma bei..."

Atop a mountain peak in the Yunhai Mountain Range, standing on a dragon vein and surrounded by chaotic celestial phenona, a young man with strange markings on his face sat cross-legged, chanting unknown words.

Drizzle and snow blended together, drifting down from the sky. Occasionally, lightning would strike near him. Amidst this chaos, he remained motionless, seemingly rged with the heavens and earth.

While the young man was cultivating, a ripple in space suddenly flickered—and a tortoise appeared behind a rocky outcrop, quietly spying on him.

Before the chanical Tortoise could continue spying for long, the young man opened his eyes and said, “Co out. You've been watching for quite a while.”

The chanical Tortoise slowly stepped forward. The Holy Son of Wu God Hall frowned, confused as he looked at this “chanical creation.”

"Nascent Soul Transformation Stage... a chanical beast?"

Although Wu God Hall was a semi-isolated sect, as its top genius and a powerhouse among Dao-Seeking factions, the Holy Son was well-inford.

Seeing that it wasn’t a remnant from the Gu God Sect, nor did it seem like soone from the Hall had co looking for him, the Holy Son showed a hint of curiosity.

“From the Ancient Kingdom’s Shenji Manor, perhaps?” Based on what he knew, that was the most logical conclusion.

But the next second, the chanical Tortoise shook its head and made a strange sound—part machine, part soul—and said, “Yes yes, from Shenji Manor…”

“Just happened to be traveling here. Want to have a fight with you.”

“Gained sentience… yet still an unintelligent chanical beast…” The Holy Son of Wu God Hall looked surprised. “Could it be from so minor ancient ruin?”

Since the Golden Small World had opened, countless relics had appeared. Cultivators had unearthed all sorts of bizarre things. He’d never heard of an ancient ruin that didn’t have so chanical puppet crafted by chanism Arts guarding its entrance and blocking intruders.

BOOM!!!

The next instant, the Holy Son chanted a spell with extre speed, and a lightning spear descended from the sky, piercing down toward the chanical Tortoise by the rock. Since it said it wanted to fight, he asked no more.

Facing the lightning summoning technique, the chanical Tortoise’s eyes glead. It didn’t dodge in the slightest. Instead, it spit out a supre magical treasure—an Evasion Pearl—and held it in its mouth.

Imdiately after, before the descending lightning spear could fully strike the tortoise, it began to dissolve in midair. This was one of the spoils Lin Jing had taken from the Gu God Sect, rumored to be capable of avoiding heavenly tribulation. It wasn’t much use to Lin Jing, who already had the Ice Soul Lightning Tribulation Gu, so he gave it to the chanical Tortoise.

“? A supre magical treasure?”

Seeing the tortoise carry such a treasure, the Holy Son of Wu God Hall was stunned.

That lightning strike was just a basic move, no more than a casual flick of the hand. But as one of Tianyuan’s top ten prodigies, even a casual attack wasn’t sothing a normal Nascent Soul cultivator could resist. It was ant to test the tortoise—and its response surprised him.

“Tortoise Flying Sword.”

The chanical Tortoise muttered in a chanical tone, retrieved the Evasion Pearl, and then pulled out another supre magical treasure—a flying sword, one of Lin Jing’s trophies from Tongtian City. Under the tortoise’s control, the sword shot out with a "whoosh", turning into a white streak aid at the Holy Son’s neck.

Screech—

The sword’s power tore through space, leaving a long black rift in its wake.

“It can spit out flying swords… and it’s another supre magical treasure.” The Holy Son of Wu God Hall was shocked. He couldn’t understand what was going on with this tortoise. Two supre magical treasures already?

In the outside world, even a single supre magical treasure could beco the foundation of a Nascent Soul-level sect, requiring the strength of the entire sect to maintain it.

“You’re not the only one with treasures!” The Holy Son also pulled out a supre magical treasure. As the top genius of a Dao-Seeking sect, of course his standard gear wouldn’t be re high-grade treasures.

He summoned a green flag, which once planted midair, released a phoenix-shaped artifact spirit illusion. It stirred a storm and let out a phoenix cry, blowing away the flying sword.

What he didn’t know was—the chanical Tortoise loved it when others used magical treasures to fight it.

Rather than using its own, it was even better at snatching the treasures of others.
