Vol 3 Chapter 20: The Longevity Body’s Intimidation

After seeing off his first distinguished guests, Lin Jing continued lounging and reading.

One person, three pets—except for the Ice Soul Gu, all were exceptionally busy.

The Ice Soul Gu had no choice but to seal itself in ice and enter a dormant state, feigning death to avoid being traced by the Gu God Sect’s special techniques. After all, it originally belonged to the Gu God Sect, and it was best to be cautious.

anwhile, the Fire Qilin Dragon was inside the ditation Staff pendant, which had been converted into a pill-refining chamber, diligently producing pills. Most of the Naless Pill Pavilion’s stock, including the Gluttonous Pill, currently depended on its efforts.

As for the Pine Leaf Mouse, it was the busiest of them all.

Inside its Suspended Gourd, it was cultivating three supre spiritual seeds—Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi, Nine-Life Exquisite Grass, and Cloud-Hidden Orchid!

Each of them was a treasure ranked even higher than the Sacred Fire Lotus from earlier.

At present, none of them had matured. Even though the Pine Leaf Mouse had mastered the Everlasting Emperor’s Longevity Art, it had yet to fully ripen a single plant.

Had Lin Jing known he would be separated from Senior Pine, he would have had the elder expedite the process back then. Now, he could only watch helplessly as they remained unusable.

Currently, the Pine Leaf Mouse was prioritizing the cultivation of the Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi.

This divine lingzhi was a fifth-rank fire-attribute treasure. According to Senior Pine, once the Fire Qilin Dragon reached Core Formation, consuming it would be enough to propel it from early Core Formation to Core Formation Perfection, granting it the potential to break through to Nascent Soul.

Lin Jing’s plan was simple:

While ripening the Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi, he would gather multiple Exotic Flas to help the Fire Qilin Dragon condense a formidable Fla Monster Core upon reaching Core Formation.

At that point, the Fire Qilin Dragon would be contractually bound at early Monster Core stage. But that was fine—by then, the Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi likely wouldn’t have matured yet.

During that ti, Lin Jing would focus on his own Core Formation breakthrough.

Once the Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi was fully matured, the Fire Qilin Dragon could consu it, instantly advancing from early Monster Core to Nascent Soul stage. With its Demon Emperor Bloodline, there would be no bottleneck in this breakthrough.

Ultimately, Lin Jing, as a Core Formation cultivator, would wield Nascent Soul-level power by combining Fusion Secret Art and Beast Weaponization techniques with the Fire Qilin Dragon!

Paired with the beast’s brutal divine abilities, even Nascent Soul cultivators would struggle to oppose him.

And if Lin Jing successfully cultivated the Heavenly Demon Physique as well, then with his extended lifespan, he would gain the ability to challenge top-tier experts by burning his own life force!

After all, at that point, he would likely have nearly ten thousand years of lifespan to burn…

He would already be unmatched below Nascent Soul, and by combining that with Lifespan-Burning Demon Arts, anyone who dared to covet his Longevity Body would pay a steep price. ⱤàNÔ𝐁ĚS

His Longevity Body would beco both a trap and a weapon—if soone attempted to capture him, not only would they deplete his longevity, but they’d also face his devastating counterattacks.

Losing the bulk of his longevity wouldn’t be a concern. If they hesitated to make a move, fearing his retaliation, then his plan had already succeeded.

Apart from ripening the Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi, the Pine Leaf Mouse had another crucial task: finding its own path to Core Formation!

Lin Jing’s own Core Formation would still depend on the boost from his contract beasts.

Additionally, for the Glazed Immortal Eyes to evolve and gain the ability to synthesize non-plant resources, the Pine Leaf Mouse’s Core Formation needed to be unique.

It had to regress from an ordinary Leaf Mouse into a Seven-Elent Origin Mouse!

And the key wasn’t the Treant Pill!

The Treant Pill, one of the reference formulas used to develop the Longevity Foundation Pill, was a dicine that allowed a body to integrate plant organs.

These plant organs were the key.

Just like how the Sacred Fire Lotus and Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi were both plants and fire-attributed at the sa ti, Lin Jing needed to find four suitable plant-based organs containing tal-wood, water-wood, fire-wood, and earth-wood properties and fuse them into the Pine Leaf Mouse’s body.

Once these five elents ford a balanced cycle around wood, the Pine Leaf Mouse would have the potential to condense a Five-Elent Monster Core, granting itself full mastery over five attributes.

Lin Jing didn’t know if this would trigger an evolution in the Glazed Immortal Eyes, but the Five Elents Dao was overwhelmingly powerful, so it would undoubtedly benefit the Pine Leaf Mouse’s growth.

However, selecting these plant-based organs was no easy task.

Since he needed to refine Treant Pills using them, they had to exist in large quantities to allow for multiple trial-and-error experints.

Thus, high-tier spiritual plants like the Sacred Fire Lotus and Nine-Sun Divine Lingzhi had to be ruled out.

They were precious, but Lin Jing and his group weren’t yet capable of modifying such advanced plants into Treant Pills.

On the other hand, ordinary first- to third-rank plants weren’t strong enough.

That was where the Pine Leaf Mouse’s own synthesis ability ca in.

For example, the Firecloud Pepper—originally just a first-rank Malignant Plant, but after synthesis, it produced Netherworld Ghostfire, making it more rare and powerful than even high-tier spiritual plants!

Thus, Lin Jing needed to search Qingzhou for low-rank plants with fire, water, tal, and earth attributes, allowing the Pine Leaf Mouse to synthesize them and determine which would best serve as organ materials for its Treant Pill transformation.

For the tal-wood attribute, Lin Jing had already found a candidate—the Reflective Diamondwood, synthesized from the Mosquito-Powered ch’s outer shell!

This Diamondwood could reflect most of the damage it received back to its attacker, making it an ideal choice for the Pine Leaf Mouse’s transford skin in its Demon King True Form.

If no better tal-wood option was found, Diamondwood would be his first choice.

As for fire, water, and earth-based plants, he hadn’t found any suitable ones back at the academy. Now that he was in Qingzhou, he had resud his search.

Qingzhou was rich in unique spiritual plants, offering far more choices than the Ancient Kingdom.

“Fellow Daoist, the 100 Explosive Fruits and 100 Sun Herbs you ordered have arrived.”

A cultivator from a nearby spirit plant shop approached. Rather than a true custor, he was a shopkeeper from a neighboring spiritual herb store.

Before opening the pill pavilion, Lin Jing had placed an order with them for two second-rank fire-attribute plants, spending a significant number of Spirit Stones.

Both were Qingzhou specialties.

The Explosive Fruit was a Malignant Plant, similar in effect to Spirit Bean Bombs—when subjected to a strong impact, it detonated like a fireball, capable of killing Foundation Establishnt cultivators.

When Lin Jing had initially ordered 100 Explosive Fruits, the shopkeeper had hesitated for a long ti, wondering what Lin Jing planned to do with them.

As for the Sun Herb, it was a spirit herb that enhanced fire-attribute spiritual energy. Consuming it while cultivating fire-elental techniques under the sun significantly boosted efficiency.

Lin Jing wanted to see how these two plants would change when synthesized with the Glazed Immortal Eyes—would they, like the Firecloud Pepper, generate a new Exotic Fla?

If so, the Fire Qilin Dragon would gain yet another upgrade.

“The goods have arrived. Let’s begin synthesis.”

Inside the gourd, the Pine Leaf Mouse paused its ripening process, removed its straw hat, and looked up, its gaze sharp and intense.
