Vol 3 Chapter 1: Qingzhou

Crack!

A turbulent stream suddenly froze over as a surge of frost erupted into the air.

Shatter!

From within the frozen surface, a fist punched through the ice.

“Where the hell did I get teleported to?”

The ice split apart, and a young man with short black hair climbed out.

With a single sweep of his divine sense, he imdiately grasped everything within a few kiloters.

This young man was none other than Lin Jing, who had been teleported to an unknown location by the Celestial Palace Teleportation Compass!

As soon as the teleportation ended, Lin Jing took stock of his surroundings.

Since this was a random teleportation, if what Senior Pine said was true, and he ended up in the den of so high-level demonic beasts, then his life would be as good as over.

On the Tianyuan Continent, the domain of demonic beasts was hardly any smaller than that of humans…

The Misty Forest, the Cloud Sea Mountains, and the Western Desert Snow Plains—each was ruled by a Beast Emperor at the equivalent of the Dao-Seeking Stage, overseeing a vast empire of monsters.

Fortunately, a quick scan of his divine sense confird that he wasn’t so unlucky. He had rely landed in an uncharted forest.

There were no significant threats within a few kiloters—not even a single Foundation Establishnt-level beast.

“A forest…”

Just knowing that he was in a forest wasn’t enough for Lin Jing to determine his exact location.

As he pondered his situation, three contracted beasts—Pine Leaf Mouse, Fire Qilin Dragon, and Ice Soul Gu—erged one after another, reacting to the sudden teleportation.

“Hey! Hey!!”

“Roar!!!”

"Good thing you three are linked to through our contract, treating us as one entity…”

With his contracted beasts by his side, Lin Jing felt slightly reassured.

Senior Pine had also been teleported to an unknown location and could no longer protect him. If he had been separated from his beasts as well, his remaining combat power would have left him feeling utterly defenseless.

“This damn compass.”

Lin Jing checked his Myriad Beast Circle once more and confird that his mosquito beast swarm had indeed been stripped away. He cursed under his breath.

Without them, his Mosquito-Powered ch was temporarily useless.

Thankfully, mosquito beasts weren’t exactly rare. As long as he could return to Hidden Dragon Academy, he could easily commission an instructor to help him capture a few from the Cloud Sea Mountains. Once he had a breeding pair, they’d multiply quickly. 𝘙ÃNọᛒΕŠ

Still, given the current unknown circumstances, even if he had the ch, he wouldn’t dare use it—it would make him an instant target for the Demonic Sect.

“What now?”

Lin Jing recalled Senior Pine’s warning—this teleportation was likely orchestrated by the Yin Corpse Sect and the Gu God Sect.

Although the Yin Corpse Sect’s demonic cultivators claid they were retaliating against the academy’s interference in their grand sche, no one on Lin Jing’s side believed that was the whole truth.

Chances were, they were after his Longevity Body.

“You think the Gu God Sect has a way to track you down?” Lin Jing asked Ice Soul Gu.

“No idea… Maybe I should fake my death and go into hibernation?” Ice Soul Gu whimpered, clearly terrified.

For all its usual arrogance, it wasn’t willing to risk being captured by the Gu God Sect.

Better to cry inside the body of a Longevity Body cultivator than to laugh in the hands of a Gu Sect parasite master.

Just like birds choose the best tree to nest in, Gu creatures do the sa.

Ice Soul Gu firmly believed that Lin Jing’s potential would surpass the entire Gu God Sect. The sect only had one Gu God at the Dao-Seeking Stage, after all.

If Lin Jing grew strong enough, not only could he devour the Nine Rare Gu, but he might even surpass the Gu God himself one day.

“Then go ahead and fake your death. Keep your aura hidden at all costs.”

"Our next major goal… is to get back to the Ancient Celestial Kingdom as soon as possible.”

Lin Jing opened his palm, revealing a golden leaf that Senior Pine had given him before the teleportation.

Senior Pine had claid that this leaf could help mask his presence from fate-divining techniques, making it harder for powerful cultivators to track him down.

But just how effective it was… Lin Jing wasn’t entirely sure.

“Well, it’s gotta be useful to so extent. Senior Pine managed to break through to the Nascent Soul Stage unnoticed and hide in the Beast Taming Sect for so many years without being discovered—he definitely has so tricks up his sleeve.”

“With this leaf, combined with my Shedding Art and Thousand Transformations Technique, I just need to lay low and avoid exposure. At least in the short term, the two Demonic Sects shouldn’t be able to track … If they do, well, that’s just my bad luck.”

Lin Jing took a deep breath and recalled Pine Leaf Mouse and Fire Qilin Dragon into his Myriad Beast Circle.

For now, he needed to minimize the use of his Beast Taming Abilities to avoid drawing attention.

His body slowly floated upward. While extending his divine sense to scout ahead, he transford into a streak of rainbow light and flew toward the outer edges of the forest.

During this ti, his appearance and body shape gradually changed…

Returning to the Ancient Celestial Kingdom was the priority, but first, he needed to figure out where he was.

If he was already within one of the kingdom’s regions, that would make things much easier.

After flying for a while, though he hadn’t yet left the forest, Lin Jing finally spotted a living person.

A mid-stage Qi Refinent teenager, no older than fifteen or sixteen, was wandering alone through the forest, seemingly searching for sothing.

Lin Jing sighed in relief.

In situations like this, the worst thing would be not encountering anyone at all.

As long as there were people around, it ant civilization wasn’t too far away—at least he hadn’t ended up in so forsaken death trap like the Misty Forest.

Whoosh!

A sudden gust of wind roared through the air.

Descending from the clouds, Lin Jing landed directly in front of the startled youth.

The mont he saw Lin Jing’s disguised ordinary-looking form, the Qi Refinent teenager felt an overwhelming pressure.

Foundation Establishnt!

Without hesitation, he dropped to his knees, bowing his head.

"Junior greets Senior! I didn’t know you were cultivating here—I have disturbed your ditation. I deserve to die for my offense!"

"I swear this is all I have—please, have rcy!"

He hastily took out a few Spirit Stones as an offering.

Lin Jing scoffed internally.

If only the Yin Corpse Sect had been this respectful.

He had spent a decade training quietly in the academy without stepping foot outside, yet he still got dragged into this ss.

Damn it all.

A silken thread shot out and pierced the youth’s body.

Instantly, the boy’s eyes glazed over as Ice Soul Gu took control of his mind.

“Where is this place?” Lin Jing asked.

In a monotone voice, the youth replied, “Senior, this is Senluo Path, one of the Sixteen Paths of Qingzhou, just outside Linlang City, within the Evergreen Forest.”

Qingzhou!

Lin Jing looked up at the sky.

So he had ended up in Qingzhou…

Not exactly a demonic beast stronghold, but returning to the Ancient Celestial Kingdom from here wouldn’t be easy either.

Since the Misty Forest’s fog disrupted divine sense and spatial travel, no teleportation arrays existed between Qingzhou and the Ancient Celestial Kingdom.

To return, one had to physically traverse the Misty Forest.

And that was demonic beast territory—full of terrifying creatures who called themselves emperors and ancestors.

Only Lotus Pavilion had a relatively safe trade route through the forest, supposedly thanks to so kind of deal with a powerful beast.

But under current circumstances, with the Yin Corpse Sect and Gu God Sect on high alert, even disguising himself and traveling with Lotus Pavilion’s trade caravan wouldn’t be entirely safe.

And to make things worse, Qingzhou was actually the Yin Corpse Sect’s main base of operations.

In this situation, returning safely to the kingdom seed nearly impossible.

“…Didn’t Sect Master Xu Xiaoyao and Senior Brother Ouyang Hao co to Qingzhou with Lotus Pavilion to make a na for themselves?”

“…But given the current situation, eting up with them might not be the best idea. Staying hidden and waiting for Senior Pine to find seems like the safer option.”

Lin Jing sighed.

If only he had already cultivated the Heavenly Demon Physique.

With at least four thousand years of lifespan to burn, he wouldn’t have to be so damn cautious all the ti.

If he had reached Core Formation, with a lifespan nearing ten thousand years, combined with the Heavenly Demon Physique, he’d feel far more secure.

But alas, he hadn’t.

Gazing at the controlled youth, Lin Jing asked, “Who are you, and what are you doing alone in this forest?”
