Vol 2 Chapter 107: The chanical Turtle

"chanical life?"

"You an… a chanized beast can develop sentience?" Lin Jing asked.

The plain-robed Mo Qianyi smiled. "If magical treasures can, why not chanized beasts?"

"Fair point, but I assu the thods differ," Lin Jing responded.

He didn’t reject Shenji Manor's offer outright.

The mosquito-powered ch had strict requirents for use, but high-level cultivators from Shenji Manor might find a way to overco them.

Its true power ca from its energy source—the combination of the Blood Devil Vine, a mutated demonic plant, and the Cloud Sea Mosquito Beast’s blood, which created a terrifying fission reaction that fueled the entire construct.

The Cloud Sea Mosquito Beast wouldn’t be difficult for Shenji Manor to obtain, considering their Void Mystical Ancestor guarded their legacy.

As for the Blood Devil Vine, if Lin Jing was willing to supply it, Shenji Manor could replicate his unique energy reactor.

However, there was one major issue—once the Blood Devil Vine absorbed blood and transford into Blood Mosquitoes, only Lin Jing’s Pine Leaf Mouse could control them!

Without the Pine Leaf Mouse, the Blood Mosquitoes would attack indiscriminately—even Lin Jing himself had been targeted before. Getting them to cooperate willingly was no easy task.

But looking at it another way—if soone found a solution to this issue, the mosquito-powered ch could beco a widely usable war machine.

Though Lin Jing hadn’t found such a solution yet…

Moreover, since his Pine Leaf Mouse held absolute control over the Blood Devil Vine, he didn’t have to worry about others using it against him.

A Deal Worth Making

From Lin Jing’s perspective, this trade was worth considering.

Shenji Manor could research a thod to allow others to control the ch, saving him the trouble. He was genuinely interested in the chanized beast lifeform that Mo Qianyi had ntioned.

After all… besides the mosquito-powered ch, he had another, more traditional chanized beast in his storage space.

"Saint Lin, you’ve heard of Ingenious Soul Cores, right?" Mo Qianyi asked. "Most high-level chanized constructs require a Soul Core for better control."

"Yes."

"The Soul Core is the key to granting sentience to chanized constructs. We have a thod in Shenji Manor to evolve Soul Cores into full-fledged consciousness!"

Lin Jing raised an eyebrow. "Then why haven’t I heard of sentient chanized constructs being used by Shenji Manor?"

Mo Qianyi chuckled. "You’re from the Beast Taming Sect, so you should understand—consciousness is a double-edged sword. While it allows chanized constructs to act autonomously, it also makes them harder to control. Most chanists prefer directly controlling their constructs rather than trusting their intelligence."

"If I’m not mistaken, the Beast Taming Sect has had cases of pet beast rebellion, right? Many chanists in Shenji Manor fear similar risks, so they prefer constructs without willpower."

Lin Jing nodded.

"The thod to create sentient chanized beasts was developed by one of our ancestors," Mo Qianyi continued. "But very few chanists actually use it. Currently, only a handful of guardian constructs left behind by our ancestors possess true consciousness."

"If you’re willing to trade the design blueprints of your ch, Shenji Manor will give you a chanized beast blueprint capable of reaching the Nascent Soul stage—and even help it develop sentience."

Mo Qianyi’s lips curved into a knowing smile.

"Tell , Saint Lin—wouldn’t you like to know if the Beast Taming Art of your sect could form a contract with a chanized beast that has true self-awareness?"

The Negotiation

Lin Jing smirked.

"Interesting." He narrowed his eyes slightly. "But you’ll be disappointed. Even if I give you my blueprint, you won’t be able to replicate it. There’s a key material in the construct that only I possess—it’s the core of its power, defense, and sustained combat ability."

"Of course," he added casually. "I could provide you with so of that material. But the thod to control it is unique to . I can’t pass it on. You’d have to figure out your own thod."

Mo Qianyi turned to the Shenji Manor elders beside her, silently communicating with them.

In truth, she hadn’t made up her mind yet—her proposal regarding chanized beast intelligence had not been pre-approved by the elders.

As soone who had trained in chanized arts since childhood, Mo Qianyi was deeply fascinated by Lin Jing’s new type of construct. Her love for chanized arts made her eager to study it.

The elders of Shenji Manor exchanged glances and nodded.

If the material was from the Tianyuan Continent, they refused to believe they couldn’t find a way to control it.

Shenji Manor was the second most advanced force in material studies across the continent.

If they had the material, they were confident they could replicate it or create an alternative!

Mo Qianyi turned back to Lin Jing.

"Na your conditions," she said.

Lin Jing smiled. "Just as you suggested—I want a blueprint for a Nascent Soul-stage chanized beast. And the secret thod to grant it sentience."

Mo Qianyi shook her head. "The blueprint? Yes. The secret thod? No. We won’t hand it over directly. But once you build the chanized beast, we can help awaken its consciousness for you. Alternatively, we can give you a special construct that will allow you to gradually upgrade the Soul Core over ti."

Lin Jing wasn’t surprised. He had expected them to refuse.

He had purposely asked for sothing he knew they wouldn’t agree to, so he could bargain for sothing else instead.

"In that case," Lin Jing said, "I have one more condition."

"If Shenji Manor figures out how to control the special material I ntioned, you have to share that thod with ."

"Agreed."

"Then we have a deal."

Mo Qianyi didn’t bother haggling any further.

"Shenji Manor has over a hundred different Nascent Soul-level chanized beasts to choose from," she said. "What kind do you want?"

Lin Jing stroked his chin, then extended his hand.

Light shimred.

A two-ter-tall chanized turtle appeared, standing on its hind legs. It wielded a heavy cannon on each shoulder and gripped a chanical Bamboo Rifle in its hands.

"This is…" The Shenji Manor elders scrutinized the construct.

"A chanized turtle?"

So Lin Jing really was a chanist!

It was no wonder he had agreed to the trade—he already owned a chanized beast!

"Do you have any blueprints for turtle-type chanized beasts? I want to upgrade this one," Lin Jing said.

He was a sentintal person.

Though this chanical Bamboo Turtle had long outlived its combat usefulness, reduced to helping the Pine Leaf Mouse water spiritual plants, it was one of his earliest constructs.

It had been his first—his second, if he counted his early failed experints.

It was, in a way, the elder predecessor of his mosquito-powered ch, carrying the hard work and dedication of his early cultivation years.

Mo Qianyi studied it for a mont. "Yes, we have two Nascent Soul-grade turtle-type chanized beasts."

"One is the Wave Turtle, a water-elent construct. It specializes in water escape techniques, assists cultivators in underwater combat, and can manipulate tidal waves large enough to flood a city."

"The other is the Mountain Turtle, an earth-elent construct. It has monstrous defensive capabilities, can self-repair by consuming minerals, and serves as a fortress-type construct, shielding its master from harm."
