Vol 2 Chapter 93: The Demonic Cultivator Squad

A few days later.

Xu Zhizhi found Lin Jing and brought good news.

"I found the techniques!" he announced excitedly.

"So fast?" Lin Jing stepped out to greet him, a bit surprised. He hadn’t expected it to be this easy. After all, Nascent Soul-level cultivation techniques were often the highlight of auctions in top-tier immortal cities.

"Of course! You can count on !" Xu Zhizhi sat down at the stone table outside Lin Jing’s cave.

Lin Jing chuckled and imdiately poured him a cup of tea.

"This tea… why is it sweet? And cold?" Xu Zhizhi took a sip, montarily stunned.

"Just tell if it tastes good."

"It has a unique flavor. More like fruit water than tea, but it’s delicious!" The scholarly cultivator took another sip, savoring the taste.

Lin Jing grinned. "My pet beasts and I brewed it ourselves. We call it 'Iced Red Tea'."

"Alright, let’s talk about the techniques."

Xu Zhizhi wiped his mouth and began,

"I found two techniques, both from the sa creator. They are indeed Nascent Soul-level techniques, but they have stricter cultivation requirents compared to standard ones."

"Have you heard of Ice-Fire Island?"

Lin Jing shook his head. "Never heard of it. A cultivation faction?"

"Exactly. The reason it's so obscure is because it no longer exists," Xu Zhizhi explained. "Thousands of years ago, two Nascent Soul-stage Demon Emperors battled—one with a fire bloodline, the other with an ice bloodline. Their clash triggered terrifying natural forces, transforming an island into a unique ice-and-fire landscape."

"This beca known as Ice-Fire Island. Later, a group of cultivators specializing in fire and ice techniques settled there, using its natural energy for cultivation. Over ti, they ford a faction called Ice-Fire Island."

"However, as the island’s natural energy gradually faded, the faction lost its cultivation grounds and eventually disappeared."

"In our Dragon Palace, there’s soone whose ancestor was a Nascent Soul cultivator from Ice-Fire Island. Because of that, he has preserved cultivation techniques for both ice and fire attributes. However, these techniques were specifically developed based on Ice-Fire Island’s unique environnt. After reaching the Golden Core stage, further cultivation becos highly dependent on an extre heat-and-cold environnt. Without such conditions, these techniques are no different from ordinary Golden Core-level techniques."

"Since Ice-Fire Island’s legacy is gone, he’s willing to trade these techniques for a Rising Dragon Pill. He also said that although the techniques have limitations, he can include a few matching minor techniques as a bonus."

"I see. A technique restricted by cultivation grounds..." Lin Jing pondered for a mont. It wasn’t a huge issue. By the ti the twins reached the Golden Core stage, it would already be decades later. No point worrying about it now.

As for what to do when they reached Golden Core?

With their cultivation and the power of the Ice Soul Sub-Gu, they could either steal higher-grade techniques or seize territories rich in extre ice and fire energy.

Solutions always outnumbered problems.

When the ti ca, they would just have to rely on their own wisdom!

"This will do," Lin Jing nodded. In the short term, only extinct factions like Ice-Fire Island would be willing to trade high-level techniques. Disciples from established sects wouldn't have the authority to do so.

He also didn’t want to waste too much ti searching.

The Jiang twins were at the perfect age for cultivation—wasting years just to find techniques would be a sha.

Besides, even if they found better techniques later, they could always undergo another transition. While switching techniques would cost ti and effort, as long as their foundation remained solid, it wouldn’t be a big issue.

"Is there anything else?" Lin Jing asked.

Xu Zhizhi handed him a list of spirit plants.

In Hidden Dragon City

The Jiang twins had already settled in an inn.

Compared to the Air Domain, Hidden Dragon City was a well-known hub for cultivators. From Lin Jing’s arrival to his rise on the Genius Rankings, his na was widely discussed.

After hearing about Lin Jing’s journey, the twins beca even more confused.

Because in all the rumors about him, there was no ntion of blood magic or Gu techniques.

"Senior Lin… hides his true nature so well," Jiang Qi muttered.

"Don’t think too much about it. No matter what, Senior Lin saved us. Otherwise, we’d already be corpses," Jiang Lin said, looking at her brother.

"Helping Senior Lin raise Gu insects… isn’t a big deal. I don’t feel any malice from him." She continued, "Besides, didn’t Grandmother always teach us to repay kindness?"

Jiang Qi nodded in agreent.

But just as he was about to speak—

Crash!

The wooden door was kicked open!

The twins tensed, sensing a powerful aura.

"Demon-Slaying Bureau business!"

A richly dressed young man stood arrogantly in the doorway.

"Two Qi Refinent Gu Masters dare to set foot in Hidden Dragon City? Even though your Gu insects are well hidden, you were unlucky to run into —the bane of all demons!"

Gao Sheng held up a Demon-Seeking Compass.

"Surrender imdiately!"

The twins’ expressions changed.

Just then, a red leaf drifted in from the window.

Everyone froze.

A spatial ripple flickered—

Lin Jing’s figure materialized.

The sight of Lin Jing made the twins breathe a sigh of relief.

But Gao Sheng’s face twisted in shock.

"Why are you here?" Lin Jing asked, unimpressed.

Gao Sheng held up his compass. "I’m hunting demons! They—"

The Demon-Seeking Compass was an extrely rare magical treasure crafted by the Demon-Slaying Bureau.

It could detect Gu insects, corpse puppets, and undead creatures—sothing even most Golden Core-stage demon slayers couldn't obtain.

"They’re with . The Gu in their bodies were placed there by . You’ve got the wrong people," Lin Jing said, surprised.

He was certain that the Sub-Gu was well-hidden within the twins.

Yet, Gao Sheng had still managed to detect them?

"Ugh, seriously?" Gao Sheng looked disappointed. He had thought he was about to crack a big case in Hidden Dragon City.

"But since we’re all here, let’s make use of them. Have them assist you on your next mission."

"...Huh?" Gao Sheng blinked in confusion.

Lin Jing tossed two jade slips to the twins.

"Senior…?" The Jiang twins were still processing everything.

"Divine Fire Transformation and Royal Extre Ice Whale Technique," Lin Jing said.

"The first is a fire-attribute technique, the second is an ice-attribute technique. These were created by the cultivators of the now-extinct Ice-Fire Island, based on the battle traces left by two Nascent Soul-stage Demon Emperors—the Nine-Tailed Divine Fire Fox and the Ice Whale Emperor."

"Once you cultivate these techniques and combine them with your Twin Physique, you’ll be able to fully control the Gu within you."

"Nascent Soul Demon Emperors?!"

The Jiang twins stared in awe at the jade slips.

"Ice and fire techniques… Twin Physique… Gu insects… So that’s why you posted a request in Dragon Palace! It was for them! I see now—Gu vessels!"

Gao Sheng might not have been a detective, but as soone from a prestigious background, he quickly pieced it all together.

"Jiang Qi, Jiang Lin—this is Gao Sheng, a genius from the Demon-Slaying Bureau’s prestigious Gao Clan."

"Once you’ve switched to these new techniques, you’ll join the Bureau under Gao Sheng. You’ll be his teammates and subordinates, solving cases together. With his endorsent, you’ll be able to use Gu techniques freely."

"Wait, hold on—" Gao Sheng was stunned.
