The examiner and the rest had waited for a long ti and he decided to end it now. He looked at the staff and said loudly, "He had used too much ti! Start the countdown!"
The staff mber nodded and moved toward the tir control. They began to set the tir and Kaelix smirked after seeing it.
But before the countdown could begin, Lucius suddenly ca out of the test room. All people imdiately looked at him.
Lucius didn't change much from before, as he was still wearing the sa clothes without any visible damage on them. They could also see a beast ring in his finger, aning that he had evolved his beast.
Lucius stretched lazily, letting out a yawn. "I am sorry. I must've dozed off after waiting for so long. Is it already over?"
The examiner could not believe it. He never thought that Lucius, the one that was currently ranked one golden student, could be this nonchalant.
The examiner was now trying to reprimand him by scolding him loudly, "Lucius! Your behavior is unacceptable. This is a place for an exam, not a place for sleeping.
Lucius raised a hand, ignoring and cutting him with a smile. "Where should I put the beast I evolved? I wouldn't want to waste anyone's ti."
The examiner got even angrier and wanted to scold Lucius but he was stopped by Kaelix, who suddenly barked at Lucius.
Kaelix beca angry and shouted out at Lucius, "Wait a minute! How could you have possibly evolved that beast? That beast was—"
Lucius turned to Kaelix and smirked. He was amused by his words and imdiately interrupted him. "What was that, Kaelix? Evolved what? Do you know sothing about the beast I was given?"
Kaelix froze, his mouth opening and closing like a fish gasping for air. Realizing he had walked into a trap, he stepped back a little.
He also tried to reason while stuttering, "I... I'm just saying that you took too much ti. How could it take so much ti for soone like you to evolve a beast?"
Lucius chuckled after hearing him stuttered. "I see. It's really kind of you to be really concerned about my efficiency."
Lucius smirked as he contined, "But as I said earlier, I was a bit... tired. Or perhaps you'd prefer I handle things your way—recklessly and without precision?"
Kaelix frowned, clenching his remaining hand to a fist. "Watch yourself. You are not untouchable like you think you are."
Lucius stepped closer and mocked him. "Oh, I'm quite touchable, but not by you. Now, if you'll excuse , I have an exam to finish."
Lucius turned around and went toward the Beast Insight Terminal. Kaelix remained rooted in place; his face was pale with anger and humiliation.
The examiner glared at Lucius as he approached the terminal. "This is better worth all the ti that you wasted inside there."
Lucius looked at the examiner and didn't respond imdiately. Instead, he held up the beast ring, letting it catch the examiner's attention. "Oh, I think you'll find it more than worth it."
Lucius placed the beast ring into the terminal's holder and stepped back. He crossed his arms and smirked as the machine began to scan it.
Kaelix started to panic as soon as he saw the terminal. "It's impossible. That Poison Spider should have been uncontrollable. How could he—?
He clenched his jaw, forcing himself to breathe. "Regardless of his actions, it pales in comparison to my Thunder Wolf. I'll prove that I'm still better than him. I have to."
But even as he tried to calm himself down, a seed of doubt took root in his mind as he never saw Lucius' ability as an Evolist, making him panic.
The Beast Insight Terminal began to scan the beast ring. All eyes were glued to the screen as the results of Lucius' evolved beast began to appear.

Kaelix was shocked when he saw the data. He clenched his fist so tightly that his nails dug into his palm because of anger and disbelief. "How? How could he have evolved that monstrosity? And full D-Tier stats?"
He stepped forward, pointing at the screen with a trembling hand. "What trickery is this, Lucius?! There's no way you could have done this legitimately!"
Lucius smirked as he turned to Kaelix. He silenced him by mocking him. "Trickery? You seem to know a lot about the beast I was given. Why is that, Kaelix? Care to share with the class?"
Kaelix froze for a mont before he quickly reasoned with him by stuttering, "I... I just heard rumors about the Poison Spider's aggression. Everyone knows it's nearly impossible to evolve!"
Lucius chuckled after hearing what Kaelix said and stepped closer to him and whispered, "Be careful, Kaelix. Your 'rumors' might make people wonder if you had a hand in setting this up."
The examiner was also in disbelief as he read the screen. He had dismissed Lucius as a lucky boy riding on the reputation of the Volcaria family.
But now he was faced with undeniable proof of Lucius' skill, making him question the thing he had done and wavering his own confidence.
The examiner imdiately changed his face as he cleared his throat, quickly regaining his composure. "This is remarkable. Full D-Tier stats and three potent skills. You pass, Lucius."
The examiner had passed Lucius, but he avoided looking directly at Lucius, clearly trying to save face after his earlier scolding.
Lucius, however, wasn't content to let it go unnoticed. He then began to mock him a bit. "Pass? Is that all you have to say? No applause? No words of encouragent for your top student?"
The examiner's jaw tightened, but he said nothing. He simply turned away, gesturing for the staff to prepare the next steps.
