The following morning, the competitors gathered in the grand central plaza of the Imperial City. The sun shone brightly overhead, casting its light on the ticulously polished white stone that surrounded them.

Towering banners of gold and silver fluttered in the breeze, each adorned with the emblem of the Imperial Section. The air buzzed with anticipation as participants stood shoulder to shoulder, so whispering among themselves while others eyed their rivals warily.

A raised platform dominated the center of the plaza, and atop it stood Regina, her presence commanding imdiate attention. Dressed in an elegant white and gold outfit, she exuded authority and grace, her sharp eyes scanning the crowd as though she could read each person's thoughts. Beside her, a team of officials stood ready, their expressions neutral and professional.

she stepped forward, her voice carrying effortlessly across the plaza without the need for amplification. "Welco, esteed participants, to the Dungeon Gas of the Imperial City." Her tone was warm, yet there was an undeniable edge to her words, a reminder of the power she wielded. "Today, you stand not only as representatives of your respective sections but as contenders for glory, honor, and the rewards that co with victory."

The crowd's murmurs hushed completely, every participant hanging on her words.

"As you all know, the Dungeon Gas are a test of skill, strategy, and survival. This year, ten dungeons have been specially prepared, each one a rank-six challenge. These dungeons are designed to push you to your limits and beyond. Only the strongest, the smartest, and the most resourceful will advance."

she gestured to a large display board behind her. It lit up, revealing a map of the dungeons scattered across a mountainous region. Each dungeon was marked with a distinct symbol, and beside the map, a list of participant nas and their rankings flickered to life.

"The rules are simple," she continued. "Each of you will wear a wristband—these wristbands are linked to the competition's tracking system. They will record your kills, your contributions to clearing the dungeons, and your overall performance. Rankings will be updated in real-ti for all to see."

A group of assistants stepped forward, distributing sleek silver wristbands to the competitors. Vell slipped his on, feeling the faint hum of mana as it activated.

"The first round is elimination," she explained. "Your objective is to clear the dungeons and collect as many points as possible. The top twenty participants will advance to the next stage. Be warned: these dungeons are not just filled with monsters. They are filled with traps, puzzles, and challenges designed to test every aspect of your abilities."

She paused, letting her words sink in before adding, "You may form temporary alliances if you wish, but rember—this is a competition. In the end, only the best will proceed. Betrayals, sabotage, and cunning tactics are all within the rules. Just don't break the wristbands. Doing so will result in disqualification."

The crowd stirred at this, so competitors exchanging uneasy glances.

"The first dungeon is now open," she declared, motioning to one of the symbols on the map. "You have until sundown to prove your worth. Good luck to you all. May the best rise to the top."

With a final, sharp glance at the competitors, Regina stepped back. The officials began directing participants to their starting points, and the crowd began to disperse into action.

---

Vell and his team gathered near the plaza's edge, their expressions calm and focused. Ada was the first to break the silence. "She's setting a trap. It's obvious."

"Of course," Vell replied, his voice even. "But so are we. Let's not worry about her gas. Focus on the dungeons."

Lira grinned, already fiddling with one of her crystals. "Finally, a chance to test these in real combat. This is going to be fun."

"Don't blow up the dungeon," Ada warned.

"No promises."

Mia spoke up next, her shadow form shifting subtly. "We'll need to move fast. The other teams will target us. They see us as the outsiders, the unpredictable ones."

"Let them," Vell said with a faint smile. "We're not here to impress them. We're here to win. Stick to the plan. Sia and Mia will scout ahead for traps and ambushes. Alex, Sara, Rana and I will handle the heavy lifting. Lira and Ada, support as needed. Everyone clear?"

They nodded, each mber of the team radiating determination.

"Then let's show them what The Broken Empire can do."

---

It didn't take them long to reach the first dungeon, its entrance a jagged maw carved into the mountainside. Other teams had already entered, their shouts and the clash of steel echoing faintly from within.

Sia and Mia slipped ahead, their movents nearly invisible as they scouted the path. The rest of the team followed at a asured pace, their senses on high alert.

"Traps on the left wall," Mia's voice whispered through the communication crystal. "Pressure plates on the floor. Avoid the center path." Read new adventures at My Virtual Library Empire

"Got it," Vell acknowledged. He led the team carefully through the corridor, avoiding the traps with ease.

'So this is an artifical dungeon huh, how boring'

As they moved deeper into the dungeon, the air grew heavier with corrupted mana. The walls seed to pulse faintly, and the sound of growls echoed in the distance.

"Incoming," Alex warned, raising his blade as shadows shifted ahead. A pack of corrupted beasts erged, their eyes glowing with dangerous energy.

Vell stepped forward, his mana flaring briefly before settling into a controlled hum. "Let's make this quick."

The team sprang into action, their movents synchronized and efficient. Alex and Sara held the front line, their attacks precise and devastating. Vell supported them, his strikes calculated to exploit the beasts' weaknesses. anwhile, Lira, Rana and Ada provided ranged support, their combined mana creating bursts of energy that disoriented the creatures.

Within minutes, the beasts lay defeated, their bodies dissipating into corrupted mana that the wristbands absorbed and converted into points.

"Keep moving," Vell ordered. "We're just getting started."

As they pressed deeper into the dungeon, the challenges grew more complex. Traps beca more intricate, and the monsters more dangerous. But their team moved like a well-oiled machine, their unique blend of skills and strategies overcoming each obstacle.

By the ti they reached the dungeon's core, their wristbands glowed brightly with accumulated points. A massive corrupted golem guarded the treasure at the heart of the chamber, its form radiating power.

"Final push," he said, his voice steady. "Everyone, give it your all."

The battle was disappointing, the golem fell too easily, its body collapsing into shards of corrupted crystal. Lira couldn't resist pocketing one for later study, despite Ada's exasperated look.

'Hmm, these monsters seem way too weak for this to be a rank 6 dungeon, are they lying?' he thought, looking at the wristbands.

As they erged from the dungeon into the fading sunlight, their rankings updated on the board in the plaza. The Broken Empire's team stood firmly in the top five.

"A good start," he said, watching the rankings with satisfaction. "But this is just the beginning."
