"Father?"
"Are you the daughter of the city lord?" Xuan asked, even when knowing the answer.
Zhao Zen He nodded, "I’m Zhao Zen He, the second child of the lord of Cloud-Severing City."
Hearing this, Xuan decided to introduce himself, "I’m Xuan and they are my..." He was about to say companion as he was still not used to calling them his wives when Long Wei interjected.
"We both are his wives," surprising Zhao Zen He who looked at Xuan’s handso features. She thought inwardly, "With that face and charm, I don’t doubt that." But she didn’t let it co out of her mouth.
Xuan smiled at Long Wei’s words, then continued, "We recently rented the courtyard, close to this manor, and earlier the city lord himself invited us to live here, however we are here for another matter."
Suddenly his tone turned grim, "This is a very urgent matter and only the city lord can help us at this mont."
"Don’t tell you are the dragon couple who recently ca to the city?" Zhao Zen He asked.
She rembered her father informing her about the dragon couple, even told her to befriend them, but seeing Bai Hua who has cat ears, she couldn’t believe that the one ntioned by her father was the sa as the one in front of her as they are three, not two people.
Seeing her silence, Xuan told her about the circumstances and how the two of his companions were out when the city lord visited so he only t two of them.
Once the guards saw that things were turning bad for him, he tried to sway Zhao Zen He who didn’t have any other reason to deny Xuan’s claim.
"Tat!"
She slapped the guard, "Arrest him. You are deprived from your duty; we’ll decide your fate later."
"Co inside if this is urgent." She welcod Xuan and others inside while she told one of the guards to inform her father.
Once they were inside the Hall, Zhao Zen Wu rushed to et them. While still on his way, he thought, "I was thinking how can I make him enter the manor without making any scene and he himself ca to et ."
Though he was also curious about the urgent matter, but with his life on the line, he was determined to take Xuan to the Cloud-Severing Sovereign.
Zhao Zen Wu wasn’t a person of bad character but just like any human who fears his life, he also couldn’t let himself die and that desperation to live made him do the things which he didn’t imagine.
The door opened and Zhao Zen with a big smile glued on his face, he welcod Xuan, "I was hoping you would visit our manor and here you are."
Xuan asked, not wasting ti on greeting, "There is sothing urgent that I need your help in."
Zhao Zen Wu was listening intently as Xuan told him about Ru Feng and how she disappeared.
Zhao Zen Wu was surprised when he found out that Xuan had two more female companions than Long Wei and on top of that, they are all his wives.
He thought, ’As expected from the depraved dragons.’
Xuan asked, "We found out that the back gates are only used with the City lord’s permission so do you know who those people were?"
"The people you are talking about are from East River City. As for their identity, they were all related to the city lord of East River City," Zhao Zen Wu gave them the answer without hiding anything.
If he wished to take Xuan to the Cloud-Severing Sovereign then he needed to earn his trust first.
"East River City?" Long Wei exclaid.
"Why would she go with them? Wait a minute! Didn’t she run away from her wedding with so city lord? Is the city lord of East River City the sa person she was talking about?"
Hearing this, Zhao Zen Wu’s eyes raised in surprise.
Though the news was suppressed but a person of his calibre knew that the woman who was going to be the new wife of city lord Sha ran away from her wedding.
Xuan clenched his fist, knowing that if those people are the one Ru Feng ntioned earlier, that ans she didn’t go with them on her own.
"A re city lord touched our sister; he is inviting the extermination of his entire clan." Long Wei muttered as she saw Xuan’s angry expressions.
Seeing this, Zhao Zen Wu spoke, "I might be able to help to so extent but the lord of East River City has many connections, he is known for marrying various won for breeding children with different bloodlines."
He added, "On top of that, he is two stages higher than mine, I might not be his match but with the dragon elder on our side, the chances of pressuring him will be higher."
"Dragon elder?" Bai Hua looked at Long Wei who didn’t know what she should say as the so-called dragon elder did not exist.
Xuan looked at Zhao Zen Wu, "Unfortunately, the elder isn’t here at this mont, that’s why we need your help."
Suddenly Zhao Zen Wu felt a huge stone lift from his heart, he thought, ’If the dragon elder isn’t here, then maybe I can...’
"My powers might not be much but there is soone who can help, however..." Zhao Zen Wu spoke, looking at Long Wei and Bai Hua.
Xuan understood his aning, "That’s okay, they can wait and I’ll co with you."
"Husband!"
Long Wei and Bai Hua called him in unison, they know his condition, knowing his mories aren’t stable and secondly, they couldn’t help but feel a certain type of negativity since they entered the manor.
Both of them couldn’t point their fingers on it, nor could they focus since their attention was needed elsewhere.
They wanted to stop Xuan from going alone but Xuan reassured them.
"Believe in ," his words were soothing like a lore in their heart. Though they were still vigilant but chose to believe in Xuan’s resolve.
Zhao Zen Wu looked at his daughter, "Zen He, accompany them till I return."
