THIRD PERSON’S POV

King David kept playing the scenarios that happened that night, guilt, extre anger, helplessness, and sadness taking over him.

It was no one’s fault but him.

If he hadn’t lost his control over his emotions and had gotten into that affair, that one-night stand, then he wouldn’t have had this son, and that wretched woman wouldn’t have dared to play such a big ga with him.

David gulped.

He kept thinking about everything, and tears rolled down his cheeks, forcing him to cover his face with his hands.

Why couldn’t he see it?

He had gotten Ethan’s mom killed because he didn’t want to invite that woman into their palace, as he loved his wife a lot.

Though he slipped that night at one of the ministerial etings in the private club, it didn’t an he didn’t love his family.

To him, his family was worth more than his life. He never aspired to beco the king and questioned his brother’s ways as he knew his brother was more capable than him.

He loved and respected his brother like he would’ve respected their father if he had been alive.

However, who would’ve thought he would be the reason behind his brother’s demise? That he would be the reason behind the death of his unborn nephew and mother-like sister-in-law?

Ethan’s mom was killed when Ethan was only a kid, yet he has seen how well Ethan communicates with the rogues and their leaders.

There was no doubt that these rogues knew Ethan.

Even if Ethan never ntioned how he was getting things done his way, it didn’t an David never received a report on what his son was doing.

As the king, he had to ensure that his son didn’t do sothing that would seriously harm their kingdom.

Since he used to take care of small yet important things with the help of those rogues, he never questioned it.

David raised his head after controlling his emotions and looked at his son. No. He wasn’t his son. He was a murderer who ca into his life and took away everything from him.

However, Dilbar, who heard everything, didn’t know how to react. Nothing happened before her as she was born much later, but she could feel the pain in her father’s eyes.

However, it was hard for her to believe that the brother who doted on her and almost gave her every wish was actually the person who —

"Dad, are we going to believe her and this man just like that?" Dilbar asked.

Valencia, who had been silent since earlier, took a deep breath.

She looked at Maverick, who stepped ahead and placed the DNA report before King David.

David looked at the report, and his insides trembled.

Everything got ruined, but the moon goddess gave him another chance and sent his son back.

Was he going to stand there and do nothing about it?

"Can I see him?" David asked.

Ethan took a deep breath and clenched his fists.

"Dad, you don’t believe these guys, do you? It’s obvious they are avenging what happened at the royal ball. Besides, this man doesn’t even hold any accountability. What if it’s their trick, and they brought a random guy to spout this nonsense?" Ethan asked.

David didn’t say anything and just looked at Mr. Han.

He would’ve probably thought the sa about the person if it was soone else. But how could he not recognize the person who raised them? He was the sa man who used to follow their father and attend to them constantly.

There were countless tis when he saved them from their father’s wrath. How could he not recognize the man who took over as his brother’s second chief adviser and was the one to acknowledge his affection for his queen, Bianca, and had asked his brother to arrange the marriage?

David didn’t say anything and kept looking at Valencia in anticipation.

Though Alpha Maverick was standing there, he knew the man only heard and followed what his woman told him, just like how he used to act with his wife.

"Okay," Valencia finally answered.

She turned around and clapped three tis.

Everyone saw a man with Shadow entering the royal palace.

As soon as David’s gaze t Axile, his eyes brimd with tears as his wolf imdiately recognized his pup.

"My son," David rushed forward, and Ethan’s eyes widened.

No. There was no way the king was accepting the rogue as his son already. If that happened, where did that leave him?

Before he could et Axile, Ethan stood before David and stopped him.

"Dad, you can’t do this to no matter what. You can’t act like this. I am your son, the one who has been caring for you and everything since the beginning. You can’t just accept anyone as your son. Your son is here. I am your son," Ethan stood there firmly.

Tears brimd his eyes, which he blinked away quickly to hold his stance.

David looked at his illegitimate son, whom he had made the prince, and couldn’t help but feel angst. If it weren’t for this bastard, that woman wouldn’t have dared commit such sins and go to such extres.

"I don’t have a son who beca the reason behind the death of my family," David said firmly before he walked around him.

"Dad!" Ethan held his hand, and David instinctively slapped Ethan, making the latter stagger backward.

"I said leave alone, you murderer. Haven’t you done enough? What exactly have you promised to those rogues that you deal with? This kingdom? Freedom to act however they want? What is it?" David asked.

Ethan froze in his place.

Did that an his father knew about his conspiracies with the rogues? He thought he was being subtle about it.

The last ti he got caught dealing with the rogues, he wanted to act against Alpha Maverick as he was a big threat to his throne; his father warned him to stay wary of such rogues.

He had promised that he was eting and dealing with them for the first ti, but that was a lie.

He had been interacting with them since he was a kid.

His mother died, and he thought after her death, he would find his ho in the royal Kingdom with his dad, but that was a far-fetched case.

When he found out that it was his dad who had asked soone to kill his mother because he didn’t want to upset his queen, Ethan was beyond angry.

He didn’t know how to react to the situation. On the one hand, he wanted his father’s love and didn’t want to let go of the affection he had been yearning for, but on the other hand, he didn’t want to let go of his mother’s murderer either.

That was why Ethan acted like everything was alright. He didn’t know anything but asked the rogues his mother had introduced him to kill the queen.

It was a long process, but it worked in the end, and the day she died, he was pleased.

"I never took it seriously, but now I can see how you have always road and mingled with rogues. It looks like old habits die hard. Your mother taught you well. She was a vixen who trapped with her tricks, and now her son is ruining everything for ," David said.

Ethan looked at David in anger when he bad-mouthed his mother.

"My mother was not a bad woman! She had to succumb to those tricks because you left her pregnant after satisfying your desires!" Ethan raised his voice at his father for the first ti.

David smirked.

"Just a little trigger and you raise your voice at . I can’t imagine what you’ll do if I deny the throne to you," King David said.

Ethan paused.

"You can’t do this to . You promised I would be crowned. That was the reason you brought back. You can’t go back on your words," Ethan seethed.

David chuckled humorlessly.

"So that was exactly what you guys were after the crown. That is why those rogues follow you and help you; probably, that is exactly what you promised them. Guess what? That’s not going to happen," David said.

Ethan let out a low snarl.

He had intended to turn the tables on his side and gain sympathy from David. But it was clear the mont this real son arrived, for his father, he was nothing more than dirt and useless baggage.

There was no use pacifying him or trying.

And all of this was happening because of this one man.

Just because he was not the son of the legitimate wife, does that make him any less of a son? Ethan scoffed.

He wouldn’t let them get past this.

If he still wanted to have what belonged to him, he would need to fight for it.

Without thinking twice, Ethan turned to his wolf form and rushed towards Axile to attack him.

Axile, who had been looking at his dad and hearing what was happening, trying to digest everything, was caught off guard for a second.

Before Ethan could take down Axile, a large black wolf threw him off, and everyone looked at the scene in shock.
