THIRD PERSON’S POV

The place where the mainland witches used to ditate was in a ss.

The crystal they had placed on Valencia’s neck was starting to glow, breaking them from their ditating reverie. They looked at each other, concerned expressions on their faces.

"Do it," Matilda said.

Mrinalini nodded and moved her hand before her, bringing out a crystal ball.

The three witches walked forward and looked at the crystal ball, their pupils dilating.

They weren’t worried that Alpha Maverick’s mate had appeared, which would cause trouble and restlessness in Valencia’s life, or that the girl was nowhere to be found and had been abducted.

It was the death of the horses that caught their attention and made them worried.

It was the indication that the devil was starting to near Valencia.

As they could see, one of the animal species was supposed to be affected because of it.

These horses must’ve been the last species of animal Valencia ca in contact with, and the devil could feel her presence; that was the sole reason he targeted the poor horses that died without any fault.

Mrinalini closed her eyes, placed her hand on the crystal ball, and tried to see if she could feel or see the devil’s presence; however, as soon as she tried to go back in ti, she felt her heart thumping loudly.

Her eardrums felt like they would burst from the impact, and she trembled in her place.

She could see it, not the actual devil, but the presence he had around himself.

It was dark. Atrociously dark and full of malice. There were weird blackish-violet vibes around where the horses died, sothing only mainland witches could feel.

Mrinalini scrunched her brows, her eyes still closed, as she tried her best to see the real reason behind those vibes. She wanted to know if the devil made his presence known himself or if sothing else was accommodating his evil intentions and moving forward with his work.

However, as soon as Mrinalini took another breath and tried to concentrate harder, she saw soone’s hollow eyes in her head and was pushed back.

The intensity was so great that the crystal ball under her palm broke, the glass pricking her hand. She was pushed a few ters away, and her sisters looked at her with worried expressions.

"Mrinalini!"

"Sister!"

The witches said simultaneously, looking at the blood dripping from her nose.

Mrinalini touched the base of her nose, her glassy eyes making her sisters look at her with pity.

"What happened? What did you see? Hmm?" Matilda held her hand, but Mrinalini shook her head at her.

"Don’t ask . I... I don’t know how to describe it. The angels were right. We are not even half eligible to face the devil, let alone harm him in any way. What I saw... even if that wasn’t the devil it..." Mrinalini paused, the fear in her eyes evident.

Matilda caressed Mrinalini’s back to comfort her sister, looking at her other sister with a knowing look.

"So what should we do now?" Miranda asked Matilda, who shook her head at her sister.

Now wasn’t the ti to discuss what they could do against the devil.

It was ti to inform the witches what they saw and felt, and then they needed to see if Valencia could handle this kidnapping by herself or if she would need any assistance from them.

As witches that had no direct connection with her, they weren’t liable to interfere in her life until and unless asked by the moon goddess’s ssengers or pleaded by the girl itself.

At the sa ti, Valencia took a deep breath, erging from her deep slumber, the nightmare of that sa minotaur keeping her in its entrapnt.

She breathed heavily as the effects of the drugs in her system started to be neutralized by her healing capabilities.

’What is going on, Aurora?’ Valencia asked her wolf, hoping she would fill her in with anything that she missed while she was in her unconscious state.

She was kept captive in a weird-looking room, and judging from the strong sll of soil; her intuition told her it was perhaps an underground dungeon.

’Well, we got kidnapped. It is because of sothing we drank at the party, which ans soone from inside the council or the attendees was involved in this event,’ Aurora said.

Valencia raised her brows.

This was indeed news to her. She thought the reason she fell unconscious was because of the drugs that pricked her skin, but... now that she rembered what happened, she had started to feel dizzy way before anyone infused more drugs into her system.

Her pupils dilated before her brows narrowed, and she looked around, her hands tied to chains around the chair, the silver leaving a burning mark on her skin long ago.

She took a deep breath.

If they thought this would be enough to keep her here, it was a mistake on their side.

She was used to drinking wolfsbane with her al. In fact, she used to drink it with raw milk, making it even more poisonous and harmful for consumption.

The only thing keeping her here was the silver chains, which she was sure if she tried, she might be able to get out of.

However, she wanted to know who the person behind this conspiracy was.

The people who attended the event....

Could it be Cordelia? Perhaps Matilda? The girl has also tried to get her out of her way.

Valencia pressed her lips into a thin line before closing her eyes again.

’What are you doing?’ Aurora asked, looking at her human counterpart with a horrified gaze full of disbelief.

She wasn’t doing what she thought she was doing, right?

’What do you think I am doing? Because of the anxiousness and nervousness from the acceptance ceremony and everything going on around , I haven’t been able to sleep properly. Now that I have seen the minotaur dream, I won’t see it again this ti. Let sleep for so ti,’ Valencia said, keeping her eyes closed.

Though her heart was anxious because she didn’t know who captured her and for what reason, it wasn’t like she could do much when the doors were locked.

She needed to see her enemy to be able to act against them.

And since they weren’t here, she wanted to sleep for so ti.

’I can’t believe you,’ Aurora said.

Valencia humd before she realized sothing and opened her eyes.

"Wait. Why the hell are you even talking to ? Shouldn’t the silver chains stop you from interacting with completely? That’s how it is supposed to work, right?" Valencia asked.

Aurora rolled her eyes. She couldn’t believe that she had a human who was more worried about why she could talk to her. Any other human would be jumping for joy and thanking the moon goddess for being able to do so.

"Well, things are special with ," Aurora said.

’Yeah, yeah,’ Valencia dismissed her wolf.

Though she said she wanted to sleep, she was actually reviewing all the events of the day to see where she had made a mistake and if there was sothing that should’ve caught her eye but she missed in her mont of excitent.

The only thing she could think of was how Alia had been gazing at her and...that smirk.

Why was Tyler smug?

Wasn’t he the kind to get angry, annoyed, or jealous of soone’s popularity or if they achieved sothing?

Besides, they were talking about her here, and he made it pretty clear that he wanted her.

He should’ve felt helpless and annoyed with Alpha Maverick’s presence because he couldn’t do anything.

However, now that she had considered it, the man appeared to have a weirdly calm, subtle smile.

It was almost as if he knew sothing would happen to the party or her.

Valencia opened her eyes when she rembered the tape recorder that had been played to trap her.

They also ntioned sothing like the alpha has taken the asures, and she wouldn’t know.

Her gaze darkened at the realization, and she couldn’t even co to terms with the truth when the door of her basent cell opened.

Her gaze snapped to the man who entered, making her nearly snarl when she saw who it was.

"Mike," She seethed through her teeth.

"Well, hello to you too, Valencia," Mike whispered, a bored smile on his face as he entered.

He walked to the side of the walls and turned on the lights, making her look at her surroundings.

"You must be feeling a little bored. Let’s stimulate you a little to keep you entertained," Mike said.

Valencia scrunched her forehead.

She was about to open her mouth to warn him against doing anything when she felt an electric tingling that spread from her hands to her entire body.

"Aa!" A scream broke out from her mouth as her body started to shake.

The string tingling on her abdon was a clear indication that the n dared to touch her when she was unconscious, and her eyes turned glassy at the realization.
