VALENCIA’S POV
"What the hell are you doing here?" I saw raw fear in Theo’s eyes, and a smile appeared on my face.
Why was I here? Because I stupidly thought I would be able to save my friend from a pack full of orthodox psychos that are protected by forest spirits.
But could I say these words when a sword hung over my head? Of course not.
That’s why I smiled at him and flicked his nose through the bars between us.
"How could I not? I told you you are not getting rid of this slavery anyti soon," I grinned at him before taking a deep breath.
"You are stupid. Do you even know why I am here? I was acting selfish and didn’t think my decision would affect anyone. Oh, moon goddess, what have I done?" Theo started blaming himself, and I sighed.
Holding his hand through the bars, I forced him to look into my eyes.
"Nothing has gone wrong. Not yet, at least. Trust , will you?" I told him, wanting him to see the belief in my eyes.
He kept looking at my eyes for a few seconds before he nodded.
"I will be under your care then, boss," Theo finally said, and that was enough to give the courage to fight and die for my people.
I turned around to look at the man who had placed the sword on my neck.
"Just who the hell are you? How did you co inside the pack? What did you tell the forest spirits that they didn’t warn us about an invasion for the first ti in such a long ti? Do you not fear death?" The man looked at curiously as if I was so kind of alien that he needed to decipher.
I was also surprised by the fact that the forest spirits didn’t say anything to them.
Was the moon goddess finally siding with for once?
"Well, then, you should know I am favored by the moon and forest spirits. I told you I would be here to take my man back; here I am," I said confidently.
The man looked at for a few seconds before he put down his sword.
I looked at him, a bit unsure.
Did he believe my words for real? Why was it so hard to believe?
Sothing is definitely going on inside his head.
I looked at Theo from the corner of my eyes before squinting my brows and alerting my senses for any movents or sounds that could help decipher what was going on.
"Well, I have no choice but to take such a favored spirit to my alpha. I am sure he would love to have a second woman on his bed. You look nice too," Smugness dropped his words.
I smirked. He was ssing with the wrong person. The one thing I hate about this kind of man is their narcissism and how they belittle won and think we are nothing apart from a tool to pleasure their needs and give a baby to them.
We were much more than that, and I was ready to prove it to him.
The man tried to touch my hair, making Aurora growl in response.
’Attack!’ she shouted, her sudden anguish surprising , and I grabbed the dagger from my waist before swinging it.
The dagger imdiately sliced through his hand, and his two fingers fell to the ground.
I looked at the scene in horror because I didn’t expect this kind of damage to happen.
I...
"Aaaaaa!" The man scread in pain before he looked at murderously.
Shit! This is bad.
’Aurora, you bitch! Why would you panic like this? Look what you made do!’ I growled back at her, knowing the soldiers would be here anyti.
Kicking the shin of the beta, I kicked his balls as hard as I could to keep him down on the ground.
"You wh*re!" The man said, and I would’ve shown them what a whore could really do, but I had no ti for that.
Without thinking twice, I kicked the silver-laced door with all the power I could muster.
It didn’t budge.
Looking around, when I couldn’t find anything, I grabbed the pin from my hair, which I always wear because I am a pro thief.
It’s nothing to be proud of, but it is what it is.
Wincing in pain because of the silver on the lock, I groaned before trying to open the lock.
"Valencia!" Theo said, holding my hands as soon as the lock ca off, and I pushed the door open.
"We don’t have this kind of ti," I held his hand before rushing towards the exit.
The guards strutted in and looked at us with wide eyes, their gazes landing on the squirming beta behind us.
"Did they torture you?" I asked Theo.
"Huh?" He looked at , confused.
"Did they torture you or not? Have you lost your sense of hearing?" I seethed.
"They did. Does that motivate you to fight harder to save our lives and avenge my pain?" Theo asked and I scoffed.
"Not at all. It only tells that this fight is on because you are useless," I scorned, and he growled at slowly.
"Valencia, I am an alpha," Theo warned , and I tilted my head at him.
"Show what this alpha has gotten," I said before pulling out the arrows and shooting the five arrows at the sa ti, making the five n imdiately fall as they were rendered unconscious.
Yes. I wasn’t planning on killing anyone.
They already live in seclusion. Will it be good if I kill these people? How will their pack thrive? I had no intention of wiping off a pack.
’As if you can do that,’ Aurora said, giving the reality check, and I smiled at her through my pain.
I don’t need too many enemies to insult . My wolf is more than enough for .
Shaking my head, I looked at the remaining n before kicking the beta again and snatching his sword.
"Look, we an no harm. Let us go quietly, and we won’t cause more damage," I tried to coax them, but they didn’t exactly agree with my proposal.
They looked at as if I were so kind of maniac, and this didn’t sit well with .
"You will pay for what you did," The man ahead of said, and I touched the sword blade excitedly.
"So will you," I whispered.
I grabbed the handkerchief from my pocket and tied it to cover half of my face, letting my maniac side take over.
When V talks, everyone needs to shut down.
Without wasting ti, I didn’t want more people to co here, though I am sure the red alert must’ve already been sent to the entire pack.
I raised my sword and started to counter every attack while ensuring to kick the people away from . Though Theo was brutally tortured, yes, I noticed the marks on his body. He was doing a fair job to support in the fight.
He was indeed soone worth saving, after all.
As I had guessed, we made our way out of the dungeons. It wasn’t going to be easy.
Before us stood an entire army of the pack mbers with whatever weapon they could get hold of.
Of course, the forest spirits always supported and protected them, and probably that was the reason their weapons looked so out of place and nomadic.
Then again, I prefer using swords, bows, and arrows myself in the era of machine guns. Who am I to comnt on the weapon type?
"Who are you?" The man in the middle asked, and I looked at his eyes for a few seconds.
I was about to speak and ask who he was when Theo beat to it.
"He is the alpha of the pack,"
I could feel the anger laced in his words.
"Is that so?" I asked Theo before looking at the man.
"I am Valencia, the daughter of the Luna of the Phoenix blood pack," I extended my hand toward the alpha, keeping my distance.
I know my introduction must have surprised Theo. The loud gasp beside was a clear indication of it.
The alpha before raised his brows. If he knew as much about the spirits since the forest ones protected them, he should’ve so knowledge about the cursed daughter of the Luna of the Phoenix blood, too.
"No wonder you had the courage to infiltrate our pack. Only Luna’s daughter, who is brave enough to stand along with the alphas with her head held high, can have the guts to do sothing like that," The alpha said, and I thought this situation might work in my favor.
Even though I was warned to not ntion this thing before people, but with half of the alphas already knowing about it, I was ready to risk it as long as it promised our safety for now.
However, I was wrong in so many ways.
