THIRD PERSON’S POV

Alpha Tyler raged as he paced in his hotel room, thinking about everything he heard at the party.

He didn’t react severely to anyone or try to get close to Valencia because he didn’t want to invite unwanted attention, but how could they do it to him?

They knew Valencia was an Alpha’s daughter. Still, even after that, they let him reject her, knowing that he only chose Matilda over her because Matilda was much more powerful and had a beta wolf.

Would he have ever chosen Matilda if he knew the truth?

His wolf wasn’t calming when he thought about everything. He had thought about doing sothing to get Valencia on his side, but now it was becoming his necessity.

Did she choose Alpha Maverick? How can he allow that to happen? No. It can’t be possible. He would have to think of sothing soon.

With this thought in mind, he contacted a few people he knew in the underworld to arrange a few things for him. Though he wasn’t as powerful as Alpha Maverick, he developed so good connections with the underworld market that would help him when he would vouch for his pack to take a higher position.

Within a few minutes, his beta returned with everything he had asked him to arrange.

Since the next generation beta was Matilda, and he chose her to be his woman, they needed a new person to take over the position. Her father, Joseph Brooklyn, was getting old and a little unfit to run the pack with him when his daughter was going to be in power, too.

"Sir, what will we do with all these smoke bombs and money?" Beta Kyle asked, and Tyler smirked.

"Let’s go. I know exactly what I am doing this ti. They hid her away from . Let’s see if they can protect her from , her mate," Tyler roared. Kyle looked at his alpha, a little unsure.

Why did he feel like his alpha had lost his mind? Though he was supposed to trust his alpha’s ability as a pack mber, he was practical, too.

How could they forget they were standing on the grounds of the notorious alpha Maverick? He hasn’t been nad the beast of the wolves for nothing.

At the sa ti, near the event hall, Maverick stood impatiently in a face-off with so unmated alphas.

"We don’t see why you haven’t claid her if she belongs to you, Alpha Maverick. How could you let this situation appear? You should’ve kept her hidden and locked if she was nearing her heat. What was the need to send us on edge?" One of the alphas said, annoyed because his wolf was still pestering him to go find that woman with a sweet scent.

Maverick didn’t say anything. He casually took the glass of water from the waiter and chugged it before looking at the alpha again.

"Why should I keep my woman hidden and locked when I can take care of anyone for her? This Alphas et was my official announcent for her," Maverick said nonchalantly, his slightly golden eyes leaving everyone speechless.

His lips and eyes were telling a completely different story. While his lips showed how calm he was about this situation, his eyes clearly said he would rip anyone’s head out without thinking twice if he as much as heard soone dare to near the security circle he created.

"Is everything in control?" Dylan walked to Maverick, who nodded in return, knowing what he was talking about.

"Don’t worry. She is safe wherever she is. I will be imdiately inford if sothing happens to her. Can you ask her friend, Alina, to accompany Valencia? I don’t like that I had to leave her alone," Maverick glared at Dylan.

He didn’t want to leave her alone at all. Heck, he wanted to pleasure her and had all the ans to use this ti to get close to her if not for the warning from the council, who said they wouldn’t tolerate this behavior.

He could’ve easily defied their words by telling them Valencia wanted this too, and he had asked for her permission beforehand. Still, Jonathan ntioned sothing about her blood being sacrificial, and she must not bleed during this period.

It was related to the curse placed on her because of what her grandmother did. According to the curse, the sacred blood of the divine soul with elixir drops would be the one to awaken the devil from the dead.

He didn’t understand what it ant but knew not to ss with it when the council was so serious about it.

Jonathan even pleaded with him to listen to them because they knew Maverick had enough power, due to his strong alpha, to not agree with them and give into his instincts.

It hurts Maverick to leave his mate all alone in that secluded place. He also knew she must be hating him at the mont, especially when he promised her she would take care of her and take all the pain away too.

However, he couldn’t bear to be with her and not touch her either.

If he accidentally lost control of her and ended up taking away her virginity, she would bleed for sure. And he didn’t want any kind of curse or whatever it was to enact and make her life more problematic.

Maverick massaged his forehead helplessly before looking at Shadow.

"Well, I am sorry for the early end of the event. This is sothing that can’t be helped. We had already discussed the important matters before the event, so there was no loss of the event’s main purpose. Regarding everything else, we will host a party to make things right. But I hope everyone will understand things now..." Maverick trailed off, and many Alphas, especially the mated ones, nodded in understanding.

"It’s okay," one said, and everyone nodded again.

Maverick sighed as the alphas started to leave one by one. He ensured they were going by the path far from where Valencia was being kept.

More than 70% of the alphas left with their betas, especially all the unmated ones, and he was about to ask Shadow to call the won’s team so he could find out what was happening there and whether Valencia was holding things right or not when they received a call.

"Sir, sothing happened," Shadow said, and Maverick knew it wasn’t anything good.

At the thought of sothing happening to his girl, he let out a snarl, and he turned into his wolf to leave imdiately.
