VALENCIA’S POV
’What a relief,’ I sighed as soon as I walked out of the University. Today was my last sester exam, and I was glad that nothing eventful that could take my mind off exams happened in the anti.
It’s been three weeks since we last talked about things.
Since I have yet to reply to Tyler, he hasn’t ssaged back either. And I was happy about that.
It looked like it was a good thing I took Dylan’s advice.
Maverick officially got off his position as my teacher. Though I would miss seeing him from ti to ti, no lies, but it was good.
He has been getting too handsy with .
’And you like every bit of it,’ Aurora said, making blush a little.
Because of my exams, I last saw him four days ago. He has been busy with the alphas eting that his pack will be holding.
It was in a week, and I am sure the pressure was high on them because of the last gathering, which was quite eventful. They were still unable to find the culprit behind the fire, which was strange. All the alphas have been wary of these gatherings, but no one dared to question Alpha Maverick’s arrangents and agreed to co.
Thus, it was even more critical for him to ensure things were alright.
I know it wasn’t related to , but because of how much he has helped , I should help him, too.
Then again, if I tried to help, the chances of him asking to be his date for the day would increase, and that was sothing I didn’t want to do.
"Will you be joining us for the club outing?" Tracy asked , bringing out of my thoughts as I walked to the cafe to hand in my resignation.
Since the exams were over and I had a two-month leave, I wasn’t planning on staying here.
I will probably go to the council. There are so questions that I need answers to. Just because I laid back for my exams didn’t an I forgot about those things.
"I am not sure," I chuckled awkwardly.
"Co on, Val. You’ve barely hung out with us since you made new friends. This makes so sad," Tracy said.
I knew she was referring to Dylan and Carl, who have been loving along with Alina because they were helping ensure safety along with Maverick.
"That’s not the case. I was hoping to relax at ho because the exams were finally over. But I guess you are right. We should celebrate," I smiled.
Tracy clapped her hands and imdiately fished out her phone. She typed vigorously on it, probably telling everyone that I was coming.
I walked inside the cafeteria to tell the manager the bad news. However, before I could say anything, the manager held my hand.
"Val, thank God you are here. We need your assistance. The business is blooming. Quickly wear your uniform," the manager said, and I pressed my lips into a thin line as I watched the long line of people waiting for their orders.
With a sigh, I wore my uniform.
The manager helped when I needed more and gave a job without experience or knowing anything about . I should help him, too.
I got into working mode, occasionally smiling at people I knew from our college.
"Hi, what can I get you?" I asked the man sitting on the table with his face hidden by the cap.
"A cup of your best coffee and cheese sandwich," the man said, and I asked him if he wanted the large serving or dium one.
He chose the dium serving.
And I got back to work.
Seriously, what is with people acting all mysterious with their caps and masks these days? What do they really try to gain? Probably, they just like its vibes.
I shrugged and told Mary the order. Once it was ready, I went to the table and placed it.
"Keep the tip," The man said, and I furrowed my brows at the hundred-dollar bills.
Was this man for real?
"This is too much, sir," I said, but the man didn’t say anything. Not wanting to disturb his peace, I walked to the counter and gave Mary half the tip.
Since she prepared his order, she deserved it.
After so ti, I was about to tell the manager what I had in mind just so he would be ready just in case, but before that, I heard soone call my na.
"Val, there is a note for you," Another staff mber said, and I walked to where he stood.
A note for ? I wondered, looking at the table where that man with the cap was sitting.
"The coffee was nice, just like your hospitality, Val. We will et again," The note said. I looked at the cleaning man, who shrugged his shoulders.
"There were 200-dollar bills under the note," the man said, and I took the money in my hand, unsure of what was going on.
Who was this man? And what did he an by giving such heavy tips? I rember whether this man was a human or a werewolf, but I couldn’t rember his scent.
It wasn’t uncommon for werewolves to arrive at this cafe since it was in the city, but this man... Why was it so hard to rember his scent?
"You knew him?" He asked , and I humd.
"Yeah, he was an acquaintance," I said so that the man wouldn’t say anything to the manager and bring unnecessary attention to this man.
I looked at the chair again, hoping to rember sothing I knew about the man.
I couldn’t even look into his eyes.
’Leave it. Maybe he just liked how hard-working you were. Besides, we will deal with it later,’ Aurora said, and I humd.
She was right. There was no need to panic about it.
Maybe soone was just ssing with . If this man were a rogue, I would’ve slt it, no? Or his negative vibes should’ve alerted even if they hid their scent with so magical scent.
He was probably a human, and it wasn’t hard fighting one.
I needed to think more about the matter, as Aurora said.
Not thinking much, I went to the manager.
