Diana felt disheartened, hanging her head. "Honey... it seems like I've done sothing really wrong..."
Chris patted her shoulder. "I told you the outside world is dangerous, and people's hearts are treacherous. But don't bla yourself, Diana. You acted with good intentions, and sotis we make mistakes. We just need to learn from them and make ands."
Even the usually strong Wonder Woman found solace in Chris' embrace without struggling, unlike the comforting she experienced from Chris before. She felt emotionally wounded and in need of a man's comfort, and Chris was the best candidate for that!
After a mont, the onlookers dispersed. Diana raised her head and said, "Wait, old mayor, where is Maxwell's mansion?" She was infuriated, realizing what a beast Maxwell was. She had helped him escape a disaster, and now she felt blinded! Her first attempt to help soone had ended up aiding a villain!
The old mayor didn't stop her, but hesitated for a mont before pointing in the direction of the north. "Maxwell's mansion is over there. If you go that way, you'll see a massive estate on the abandoned farmland. That's Maxwell's mansion."
"Thank you!" Diana composed herself and turned to Chris. "Husband, I want to confront Maxwell and find out if he's truly that evil!"
"Alright, I'll accompany you." Chris didn't refuse. It was Wonder Woman's stubbornness, and perhaps she had realized that and she just needed an out. Once she went through this experience, maybe she would rein in her overflowing love and genuinely listen to him. It might be a bit cruel to make her go through this, but compared to the chaos she may faced as Wonder Woman in the future, it was insignificant. Being deceived by soone, one needs to experience it once. Reality is never pleasant.
Chris returned to the car himself, and bam! He threw a few thugs from the car. He clapped his hands and said, "They are Maxwell's henchn. They were sneaking around, spying on us, and I happened to catch them."
The legs of these n were all broken, and they tried to cry out but couldn't utter a word. Their throat pressure points had been targeted, leaving them unable to speak, only silently enduring the pain of their broken legs. Their faces turned red, but they still couldn't speak.
Wonder Woman took a deep breath and tightened her grip on her sword. She removed the Lasso of Truth from her waist and ensnared one of the henchn. "Why were you monitoring us?"
Chris casually kicked one of the henchn, allowing him to speak. Once kicked in the waist, the lower half of his body lost control as the nerves were severed, and naturally, he couldn't feel pain. "It was Lord Maxwell who ordered us to monitor you. He said that as soon as you fainted, we should bring you back to him for his enjoynt. Lord Maxwell also said that once he was done playing with you, he would reward us with a chance to have so fun with you too!"
Swoosh! Wonder Woman angrily drew her sword. With a flash of the blade, accompanied by a sharp sword aura and a low, piercing sound that seed to be unable to propagate due to the compressed air caused by the sword's movent, the henchman's head flew high, and a geyser of blood erupted from his severed neck. It looked extrely brutal, bloody, and yet satisfying!
After getting the first blood of a villain, Wonder Woman Diana beca even more formidable, and her aura continued to rise, seemingly approaching its peak.
It seems like she's about to break through; it just need a catalyst! Chris nodded, recognizing the difference in Diana. If she could break through, it would be a good thing for him. At least he would have a woman by his side who could fight!
"Then let's go to Maxwell's mansion, find out what's going on, and take him down." Chris smiled, his eyes flickering. The specifics of this mission weren't important. The important thing was that Wonder Woman Diana, as the most powerful mber of his harem, would grow to the point where she could stand on her own!
Chris drove with Wonder Woman towards Maxwell's mansion. Along the way, Wonder Woman remained silent, only wiping her Sword of Athena. In truth, her sword was just a superior blade, with a chance of breaking in top-level battles. The true Sword of Athena was herself!
