Chapter 20: Chapter 20 Uncle Scolds
Hearing his agreent,
Ji Chao imdiately hugged him, “Thank you, Daddy.”
He took his mother and brother’s hands, hopping and skipping as they got into the Lu Family’s car.
Lu Xining finally managed to take the two children with her.
Standing behind, Liu Xixi’s cheeks were slightly flushed, her eyes filled with excitent.
With the two children taken away, she could go back with Ji Muye alone for a al. Later, she would get her father to pour him more drinks and turn the cooked rice into a done deal.
...
She believed that once Ji Muye tasted her charms, he would never forget her. Then, if she clings to him a few more tis and gets pregnant, she wouldn’t have to ingratiate herself with Ji Chao and Ji Ze anymore!
If a few more photos were taken, she would be one step closer to becoming the lady of the Shi’an Group.
“Aye, let’s go back for the al,” she said.
She reached out to pull Ji Muye, but just then, a call ca in, and the man smoothly dodged her hand.
After answering the call, Ji Muye’s expression turned icy.
He turned to her and said, “Sorry, there’s sothing at the company. You shouldn’t have co today, I’ll arrange another driver to take you ho.”
She cooed at him, “Aye, you promised to have dinner at the Liu Family today.”
Ji Muye’s cool and distant deanor inadvertently glanced over the car Lu Xining had just left in; those abyssal eyes were inscrutable.
He politely said, “Xixi, if Uncle Liu would like to ask for a favor, he should directly contact my secretary. You helped before, so I will certainly help if I can.”
With that, he left in his car.
The onlookers around gradually dispersed.
Liu Xixi heard people praising Lu Xining’s beauty and how fitting she was with Ji Muye, and rage surged within her, spawning wild thoughts once again.
Lu Xining, this is all your doing!
Only if you and the children disappear will he truly belong to !
Liu Xixi took out her phone, dialed one of her father’s subordinates, “Uncle Scar, this is Xixi…”
On the way ho.
Lu Xining was asking Ji Chao about fun stories from kindergarten.
Ji Chao unleashed a torrent of chatter, the mother and son enjoying this rare mont of warmth, while Ji Ze was a bit silent.
Lu Xining overlooked Ji Ze’s frequent glances filled with grievances, directing all her tenderness and care towards Ji Chao.
As soon as they arrived ho, they saw the little one lying on the sofa by the living room’s floor-to-ceiling windows, her eyes brightening as they returned!
Before they could enter, the little one, in her fluffy slippers, rushed to Ji Chao and Ji Ze’s arms.
“Mummy, brother!”
Ji Chao imdiately hugged her with joy, “Nuonuo!”
Ji Ze, sowhat taken aback, stuttered, “Si-sister.”
Lu Xining patted her daughter’s head, “Good girl, take your brothers to wash your hands; we’re about to eat.”
Lu Nuonuo, with a generous heart, didn’t mind Ji Ze’s previous attitude and took each brother’s hand to wash up.
Watching the backs of the three siblings, Lu Xining’s smile reached her eyes, wishing that this mont could be the norm in the future.
The chef hired by Lu Xining made dinner consisting of all the children’s favorite dishes. After eating, the three of them imdiately went to the toy room.
The floor was covered with new toys.
Lu Xining, changed into her holy attire, joined them in playing with the toys.
Ti ticked by.
Seeing the newly purchased instant cara on the table, Lu Xining asked Uncle Housekeeper to co over and take a few family photos of the four of them.
Lu Xining sat in the middle with Lu Nuonuo snuggled in her embrace, while Ji Chao and Ji Ze sat beside her.
“One, two, three, cheese!”
They finished two packs of film before stopping.
When the photos ca out, they realized Ji Muye was also there, with the maid hesitating to speak.
Maid: I don’t want to say it, but this man’s presence is too terrifying!
The man was still in the sa black suit from the afternoon, exuding an air of superiority that cos from being at the center of power.
In the first few photos, Ji Muye’s eyes looked a bit stunned, but afterward, he simply stood coldly at the doorway.
Lu Xining noticed that in all the photos taken later, Ji Muye’s figure was in the background!
Compared to the dynamic expressions and actions of the four of them, he was like a statue, without a trace of a smile.
Upon seeing Ji Muye in the photos, Ji Chao looked up excitedly towards the doorway, calling out, “Daddy!”
Ji Muye walked into the room, “Dad’s here to take you ho.”
Lu Nuonuo nestled obediently in Lu Xining’s arms, both looking towards Ji Muye and the others without speaking.
Photos that had just been taken were laid out on the carpet, Ji Chao and Ji Ze eagerly pulled him to sit down and started introducing the photos they had just taken.
Ji Ze pointed at the photos of Ji Muye and said, “Dad, look, you’re in these pictures too.”
Then his brow furrowed, “But Dad, you look so serious.”
Ji Chao stealing a glance at Lu Xining, whispered, “Dad, co take pictures with us.”
Ji Ze imdiately leaned in, his eyes bright with anticipation.
“Yeah, yeah, Dad, it’s been a long ti since we took photos together, I want to take them with Mom, Dad, brother, and sister.”
Lu Xining abruptly looked up, her gaze upon Ji Ze sowhat stirred, “What did you just call ?”
Ji Muye was about to speak but was stopped by Lu Xining.
“You don’t speak yet.”
“…” Why was he so obedient?
Ji Ze looked down sowhat awkwardly, not sure why he had suddenly blurted it out.
Lu Nuonuo looked at Lu Xining and Ji Ze, climbed up from the carpet, and reached out to Ji Muye, “Hold.”
Ji Muye was taken aback, now holding a fragrant little one in his arms.
Although she was already over a year old, she was still so tiny and light to hold, Ji Muye’s dark eyes moistened with a complex light.
Lu Nuonuo really liked the scent on Ji Muye, it felt like a father’s, she reached out with her clean little hand and covered his mouth.
She made a shushing gesture, “Uncle, be quiet.”
Ji Muye: “…”
Ji Ze stood twisting next to Ji Chao, who patted his hand, “Brother, Mom is really looking forward to you calling her Mom.”
Lu Nuonuo clapped in Ji Muye’s arms, “Call Mom.”
Ji Ze looked up at Lu Xining, a strange feeling in his heart, and softly called out “Mom.”
Lu Xining’s heart stirred, but she did not imdiately respond.
Instead, Ji Ze sowhat expected her reaction.
“Hmm,” her voice a bit rigid.
This scene looked very ironic in Ji Muye’s eyes, he lowered his gaze to hide his emotions and was about to speak to take the children away when the Polaroid cara clicked.
The housekeeper smiled sheepishly, “I was just checking if the new photo paper was loaded correctly.”
Ji Chao pulled Ji Ze back next to Lu Xining, addressing the housekeeper, “Uncle Housekeeper, could you take a few more for us?”
Lu Xining wanted to refuse imdiately; she didn’t want to take photos with Ji Muye and had only accidentally partaken before—now she naturally didn’t want to.
Ji Chao pleaded with her, “Mom, can we just take this one box of photos, please?”
They hadn’t had a family portrait in a long ti, Ji Chao thought to himself.
Lu Xining relented.
Ji Muye didn’t say a word, giving a silent assent.
The box of photo paper was quickly used up.
Lu Nuonuo looked at the newly taken photos and disdainfully said, “Uncle isn’t smiling, ugly.”
This was the first ti anyone had called Ji Muye ugly; he looked at the bold little Nuonuo in front of him.
Little Dumpling boldly t his gaze.
Ji Chao and Ji Ze also thought their dad was too serious, but seeing Lu Nuonuo making faces to make Ji Muye laugh, they were stunned for a mont, then started joining in the attempt to make him chuckle.
Three children surrounded Ji Muye, each trying their hardest to make him laugh.
Lu Xining was seeing for the first ti this awkward and slightly embarrassed side of Ji Muye.
The scene was sowhat humorous and funny.
Ji Muye locked eyes with her, his body stiffened slightly as he lifted the Little Dumpling and handed her over, “Take your daughter away.”
Lu Xining reached out only to see Lu Nuonuo’s eyes turn red; she quickly ca over to hold her, “Sweetheart, why are you crying?”
The little one didn’t know why herself.
Holding onto Ji Muye’s neck, she said with a whimper, “Mom, Uncle is scaring .”
Teardrops fell like golden beans.
Ji Muye felt the wetness on the back of his hand, his heart skipped a beat, and he softened his voice unnaturally, “I didn’t scare you.”
