Kimmy was silent for a few monts.

Then, she let out a soft scoff. "What are you talking about?" she asked, trying to play it off.

"I know you know," Jimmy said, going even closer to her.

That resulted in Kimmy falling to the couch. She glared at her brother, but it seed like Jimmy was out of his mind.

"Ash was your babysitter," he continued. "She showed you the list. She gave you a copy of the program. I just know it."

Kimmy sighed and ran her fingers through her hair. She wanted nothing but to wash off the stiff face mask on her face and run away from her brother. However, she couldn't just escape with it on!

"So what?" Kimmy asked. "I haven't looked at it. You know how obsessed I am with numbers. If I start accessing it, then I would continue to monitor it throughout the day."

"Ashley is a testant to that—although it's the dad that forces her to do it," she muttered. "Anyway, it doesn't matter," she concluded. "That list isn't ant for our eyes."

Jimmy scoffed. "You're spewing so righteous bullcrap. I know you're curious, too. It's a real-ti ranking. I'm just going to check my rank."

Kimmy crossed her arms in front of her chest. "Your rank or Kai's?"

Jimmy's brows furrowed. "What are you talking about?"

Kimmy shook her head. "Just forget about it, Jimmy. What would it change if you got to see the list? We can't change it."

"But we can," Jimmy said. "We definitely can."

Kimmy frowned before her eyes showed recognition. "Oh, you're not talking about that—"

"I am, Kimmy," Jimmy said. "So, unless you show , then I'm going straight to Dad about it. I might get a good beating, but I know he'll heed to my request. He had always laid out the ground for to be the best."

Kimmy bit her lip, knowing the complicated relationship that arose in their family.

Their strive for perfection.

Their picture-perfect family where nothing could go wrong.

"Fine," Kimmy spat. "Let go grab my laptop."

A small smirk made its way to Jimmy's lips. He sat on the couch and started munching on the snacks that Kimmy had left.

For so reason, he felt quite nervous.

No, actually—he knew the reason.

He already had a hunch, but he wanted to push it in the back of his mind. That wouldn't be the case, would it?

After a while, Kimmy ca out of her room with a clean face and a laptop at hand. It was already open, so she placed it on her lap.

Jimmy leaned closer to get a better look.

Kimmy grumbled under her breath as she proceeded to the program that Ash had shared with her late last year before she entered Juren High.

"Stop grumbling," Jimmy said. "It's just a list."

Kimmy sighed. "And yet you're also making a big deal out of said list."

"Just show ," Jimmy said.

"Alright, alright!" she exclaid. "You're always so impatient. I bla Dad for making you so spoiled."

Jimmy rolled his eyes. "I could say the sa thing to you."

Finally, Kimmy had opened the application. The hopage started with the bottom ranks—as opposed to other lists, which started at the top.

"I don't see your na," Kimmy said.

"No shit," Jimmy spat. "I'm not in the hundredths. Scroll down."

Kimmy rolled her eyes and did what she was told. Her hands trembled with every scroll, which made the action slower than usual.

Jimmy sighed impatiently but decided to wait it out.

Finally, they were in the top 20.

Jimmy scoffed when he saw a familiar na. "So, it seems like Chaoxing is actually pretty high, huh? He would rank even higher if he played in more gas."

Kimmy shook her head. "Chaoxing plays a normal amount. It's you who plays too much."

Jimmy didn't respond and waited until the top ten were shown.

He knew his na was getting closer, but he didn't want to see it so soon. He wanted to see it within the top five.

Jimmy felt his heart race when he saw Calvin's na in the seventh place. Not only that, but Fang's na was just right underneath him. That ant that there were two open spots in the Elite Five.

Then, he sighed in relief when he saw his na in the top five.

"Finally," he muttered. "I made it."

Zheng and Jian would be graduating this year, so he was guaranteed to move up two spots. Moreover, if he scored just enough points in the very last ga, then he would be able to beat Max Zhou, too.

However, even then, there was a nagging feeling in the back of his mind, as if he had forgotten sothing.

"Where is that bastard?" he muttered.

Kimmy, who had stayed silent until now, couldn't believe her eyes.

"Kai," she muttered, snapping him back to reality.

"Right, Kai," he said, looking for his na below or above him. However, he frowned when he didn't see him there.

A small smile made its way to Jimmy's lips. Did he miss it in the top 20? He was sure that Kai would have ranked sixth or fourth—which would be the worst-case scenario.

Jimmy would hate losing to him, even if it was just by one rank. However, the sixth rank was Fang, and the fourth rank was Max. Kai was nowhere in sight!

"There he is," Kimmy suddenly said, capturing Jimmy's attention once more.

"Where?" he asked, looking at the screen with earnest.

Kimmy sighed and pointed at the screen with her finger. "There," she said. "This is insane."

Jimmy's eye strayed even lower than the fourth rank.

He felt his heart race inside his chest—even faster than that when Kimmy just first opened the application.

"No way," he muttered.

The third place was Zheng Zhang. He had been in the second place for two bi-annuals now! He was doing really well this season, too.

As expected, Jian was still in the number one spot.

However, stuck between them was a na that Jimmy had co to despise in the last couple of days.

The current second Elite—Kai Guo.
