Chapter 912: Two Consecutive Nights

Editor: EndlessFantasy Translation

Every ti Gu Shan heard such words from her, his anger would dissipate. He would pinch little Gu Zi’s cheeks and secretly apologize, “Wife, our daughter is on your side. It seems I’ve truly been in the wrong. I’ll make sure to yield to you more; you’ve worked hard managing this family.”

Those mories felt distant, so far back that Zhang i often refused to dwell on them. They were mories she could never return to, for her true daughter was Lin Miao. She felt a deep sense of guilt toward Lin Miao and yearned to give her complete maternal love. For Gu Zi, she could only choose to forget.

What surprised her most was that the person who ultimately understood her the best was that forr foster daughter. A whirlwind of emotions swirled within her, and she felt a twinge of discomfort as she looked at Lin Miao, wondering if she had truly been wrong in her treatnt of Gu Zi.

Lin Miao noticed the change in Zhang i’s gaze and felt a jolt of realization wash over her. She quickly recognized that she had reacted too strongly.

Softening her tone, she said, “Mom, please don’t misunderstand. It’s not that I don’t want to live with you; it’s just that we were once a happy family. Why must we escalate things to divorce? Doesn’t that play right into Gu Zi’s hands?

“Mom, really think about it. Is divorce truly what you want? If you go through with it, my life in the Gong family will only beco more difficult, and you probably won’t fare much better either. Have you considered where you’d go? Back to your family? Will they always be willing to take you back? If Dad turns against us and sides with Gu Zi, we won’t have anyone to protect us anymore!

“Mom, I’ve suffered for over ten years. Now that I’m finally back with you, I’m genuinely scared that this family will fall apart…”

That last statent struck a nerve for Zhang i. She always felt she owed Lin Miao sothing, and she believed this appeal would resonate. Indeed, it pierced through Zhang i’s heart, making her acknowledge Lin Miao’s perspective.

If their family fell apart, what would happen to Lin Miao? Even if Lin Miao chose to side with Gu Shan, if he remarried and had a stepmother, her daughter would undoubtedly suffer even more!

Yet, Zhang i still felt a flicker of resentnt toward Lin Miao for not supporting her more. Coldly, she replied, “I really hope you’re thinking about our family and not just your own interests. Fine, I’ll consider what you said.”

Zhang i stepped into her room and closed the door, feeling a mix of frustration and resignation. This was the first ti she had openly expressed dissatisfaction to her biological daughter, yet she couldn’t deny that Lin Miao had a point. If a divorce truly occurred, how many people would mock her? Who would support her in the latter half of her life? Perhaps enduring a little now to maintain their family was the better choice.

But deep down, she felt conflicted. She had sensed sothing was off; Gu Shan hadn’t returned ho in a long while, and even the residents of the compound had begun to speculate about whether he was keeping a mistress.

After dedicating her life to this family, the thought of being betrayed left her feeling bitter. Yet, even Lin Miao wasn’t on her side; what could she do?

Moreover, she and Gu Shan had been together for decades. The initial thrill of their relationship had long faded. As the years passed, their intimacy had dwindled, and with so many temptations outside, it seed almost inevitable that a man of his stature would stray. Zhang i knew all too well that many n in the compound maintained secret families outside.

If those military wives could endure, why couldn’t she?

After much internal struggle, Zhang i made her decision. For the sake of her daughter, she couldn’t divorce Gu Shan. Let him have his flings as long as he didn’t bring them ho. She needed to report to the higher-ups imdiately; if Gu Shan made any moves, it would be too late. She was resolute: there would be no divorce!

anwhile, Gu Zi had finished her preliminary exams and decided to take a couple of days off. She planned to return to work at the newspaper next week.

The days were leisurely, yet a small annoyance lingered. Su Shen had been around frequently, and when she inquired, he simply said he had nothing to keep him busy. But at night, he would pull her close, their intimacy intense, as if he had been waiting for this mont for ages.

After two nights of this, Gu Zi began to worry about her health and insisted that Su Shen return to work the next day. She hoped he wouldn’t co back for a few days to give her so respite.

However, her attempts to send him away proved futile.

Su Shen’s hardness filled her completely, every thrust igniting wave after wave of pleasure. She found herself lost in the sensations, honeyed juices flowing between them, leaving her little room to think. In that mont, a blinding light filled her vision as an explosive ecstasy washed over her, leaving her gasping in bliss. It was as if she and the older man had reached a transcendental union of flesh and spirit.
