Under the light, her eyes sparkled like stars, as clear as autumn water.

Most people at her age have experienced a lot and have been worn down by the children, making their gaze appear weary and not what it used to be. But her eyes remained crystal clear, probably because she has always stayed true to her original aspirations.

Lu Jiang leaned over and drew close to her face, his breath hot on her cheeks, "Let see if there’s really a part of in there."

"Look all you want, but why are your hands wandering?"

The complaints gradually turned into gasps, even the moon outside the window shyly hid behind the clouds.

The next day at five, Lu Jiang got up, looking satisfied, then went upstairs to wake up the kids as usual, "Everyone, wake up and start exercising. The first one to finish running today will be rewarded with half a waterlon for lunch!"

The hotter the weather, the more tempting the waterlon becos.

Lu Erxiong sat up like a carp flipping in water, grabbed the vest by his pillow and clumsily pulled it over his head, not caring whether it was inside out.

Ye Yan, Dundun, and Zhuangzhuang got up and dressed systematically, putting on shoes and socks, a result of Lu Jiang’s long-term training, which helped them develop good habits.

Lu Erxiong, panting heavily, followed behind Lu Jiang, "Did Dad take so tonic? He’s running so fast today."

"Is he?" Ye Yan didn’t feel it.

Lu Erxiong nodded vigorously, "Yes, quite a bit. I used to start panting after three laps, but now it’s two and a half!"

Lu Jiang, without turning his head, said, "The more you talk, the more you’ll be out of breath."

Lu Erxiong pursed his lips and then fell silent.

In the army compound, there were quite a few people with the sa biological clock as them. Although Zhou Fengchun was older, he was still agile and ran alongside them. Seeing how sturdy Lu Erxiong was, like a young calf, he laughed while running and said to Lu Jiang, "Erxiong is a virtual twelve this year, right? I rember he was born in ’67."

Lu Jiang nodded, "Four and a half growing boys nearly made broke."

Zhou Fengchun chuckled heartily, "Don’t worry, you won’t go broke. With us here, you’ll never go without food! So many families envy your bunch of kids. The sumr break is coming up, and we’re planning to organize a Children’s Army in the compound this year, letting the officers’ kids experience the treatnt of army kids ahead of ti. Send all of yours over!"

Lu Erxiong’s eyes lit up, "Join the army? Can we have guns?" He liked that idea.

"You’ll be trained like soldiers, so there will surely be a shooting practice, and you’ll definitely get to handle guns," Zhou Fengchun said with a smile, glancing back at Lu Erxiong, "Well, Erxiong, are you willing to go? Your dad joined the army at sixteen, but you’re starting your training at twelve, so you’re ahead of him."

"Sure, sure!" Lu Erxiong nodded like a little chick pecking at grains.

Dundun and Zhuangzhuang were not as enthusiastic. They weren’t as simple as Lu Erxiong; anything involving formal military training would certainly be a hundred tis tougher than what they were doing with their dad now.

Ye Yan, however, was indifferent. Having grown up in the army, it wasn’t that he didn’t have an affection for the military.

"Grandpa Zhou, I’m already fifteen. Am I also eligible to participate?" He was over three years older than Lu Erxiong; couldn’t possibly do the sa training, right? If they did, the younger ones would be at a disadvantage.

Although Lu Erxiong looked burly, he was still under twelve years old.
