Chapter 1855: Chapter 1855: Deciding to Stay (3)
Wang Zhenguo laughed and said, “How could it be convenient without vermicelli stewed with cabbage? By the way, are you here to find the kids? They’re all sitting in the first row.”
Feng Qingxue rembered her purpose and nodded, “I’m here to call them ho for dinner.”
She called for the kids, but they were glued to the TV and didn’t want to go ho. Even the cream cake they had been thinking about for so long couldn’t entice them. She went to find the elders, but they just waved her off, “Missing one al won’t starve us. Wait until we finish watching TV and then go ho. Just save so food for us.”
Even though it was just so uninteresting news broadcast, no one wanted to leave right away; they were all engrossed in watching.
Feng Qingxue found that there were quite a few people like her who ca to collect their families for dinner, but almost none succeeded. This showed the imnse lure of television. She helplessly returned ho by herself, had a quick al with Wang Cuilan and Fubao, and left the rest of the food warm in the big pot. It was only around eight or nine o’clock that the others, still reluctant to part with the TV, finally arrived.
Grandpa Xu, Grandma Xu, Wen Jin, and other elders didn’t often eat there. Guan Yu and Zhou Zhou, along with Zhou Zhou’s grandmother, also cooked separately, so it was just Grandpa Lu with his grandson and Cheng Baoguo who returned.
“The TV was worth buying,” Cheng Baoguo said as he slurped his soup.
Feng Qingxue, however, looked at Grandpa Lu, “Dad, Aunt said that you, Uncle, and Aunt aren’t coming back to the Capital with us?”
Grandpa Lu nodded, “The timing isn’t right. While we’re still able, we’ll stay at ho and keep company with the elders who were sent to the countryside. When each of them is rehabilitated, I reckon the state will relax control over population movent, and everything will stabilize. Then we, the old folks, will move in with you all.”
Xibao swallowed his food and said in surprise, “Grandpa, you’re not coming with us?”
“That’s right!” Grandpa Lu looked at this grandson with particular kindness.
Xibao frowned, “Then I’ll stay ho with Grandpa. Brother and sister can go ho with Mom first. After all, I feel that the grandparents’ knowledge is as vast as an ocean, and I’ve only learned a droplet. I truly can’t bear to leave now. By the ti everyone is rehabilitated, each having their own paths, I won’t have such a good opportunity or ample ti again.”
Now that her father-in-law wasn’t leaving and her eldest son was also reluctant to go, Feng Qingxue was instantly stunned.
“Xibao, you…”
“Mom,” Xibao’s eyes, clear as black and white, glimred with what could be called wisdom, “The more I learn from Grandpa and Grandma, the more I feel my own shallowness. After careful consideration, I still think it’s better to stay with Grandpa here.”
Feng Qingxue wrinkled her nose and tapped his forehead, “You just found out your grandpa’s not leaving, where’s your careful consideration coming from?”
Xibao laughed, “Even a little while counts as careful consideration!”
Feng Qingxue sighed, “Aren’t you worried about your dad? He hasn’t seen you for a long ti, afraid you might completely forget him. He specially asked to bring you back for a family reunion. Now it seems your grandpa and great uncle and aunt aren’t leaving, and you’re staying at ho. How am I supposed to explain this to him?”
“We can take so photos back for Dad to see, and when you get back, have Dad send us so new photos. You’re not saying, are you? The college entrance exam will co sooner or later. By then, I’ll apply to a university in the Capital and we’ll see each other soon. I’ll definitely bring Grandpa and great uncle and aunt along. Of course, before that, you and Dad also have to work hard to rehabilitate Grandpa Wen and Grandpa Jin, since their families are all in the Capital!”
