Chapter 1472: Chapter 1472: Life is Like a Dream 1
The year was 1972, arrived amidst a great snowstorm.
Lu Tianzhi and Guan Yu ca before the heavy snow, nearly driving the triplets mad with play.
Though Lu Tianzhi and Guan Yu had co of age, their childlike spirits remained intact. The two brothers had grown up in Wanglou Brigade and could invent hundreds, thousands of gas. Even Dundun called them “Brother Tianzhi” and “Brother Ayu” on repeat, as Zhuangzhuang no longer clung to his mother either.
Luckily, Feng Qingxue had sent out the cotton-padded jackets, trousers, shoes, gloves, and socks she prepared for the elderly ahead of ti, including for her paternal and maternal grandparents, as well as her parents who were only a few years into their life at that point. In addition, she also sent to her parents so malt essence, canned goods, candy, food, Grain Tickets, and money. She always sent these items anonymously around the ti of the New Year.
In her forr life, her grandparents often reminisced about the hardships her parents had faced in their childhood.
Even though she had not experienced the three years of hardship, the sixties and seventies were tis of material scarcity. Both families had unfavorable social status, so at ten years old, her parents were still like children of five or six, only beginning to grow up after their vindication.
A significant portion of the supplies in her space ca from the inheritance her parents left her. Naturally, it was only right for her to reciprocate now.
She would also send so items to Lu Jiang’s comrades-at-arms. After taking care of that, Feng Qingxue sent off her own dical papers to international dical journals, now perfected after word-by-word, sentence-by-sentence scrutiny by professors from the departnts of foreign languages and dicine.
She always felt her dical skills had plateaued, though her theoretical knowledge was profound, she struggled to keep up technically. During her visit to deliver clothes, shoes, and socks to Professor Xie, she confided this to him.
The several professors who had taught her with dedication all received a share; their winter clothes were so worn out that they had beco stiff and clumped, offering no warmth at all.
So of these clothes, shoes, and socks were made by herself with the cotton and fabric from her space, others were purchased ready-made.
With Chen Xueniang’s and Zheng Jinrui’s help, acquiring these items had been easy.
Touching the lightweight and warm cotton-padded jacket he now wore, Professor Xie’s eyes reddened instantly, persistently saying, “I never thought that after decades of teaching, it would be you who ca to my aid in these trying tis.”
“Respecting the teacher and valuing the way is only right,” Feng Qingxue always regarded this maxim as a principle of life.
Professor Xie humd affirmatively, with a nasal tone, and brought the topic back to Feng Qingxue’s dilemma, saying, “You’re right to think so. There’s really nothing more I can teach you theoretically. Not , and probably not dicine faculty’s two professors either. Those assistants aren’t even a match for your dical skills, let alone qualified to teach you.”
By ‘assistants’, Feng Qingxue inferred, in the early days of school, so of the teaching was done by teaching assistants. These TAs had only attended one or two years of college, far from mastering any specialized knowledge. After teaching the students for a couple of days, their inadequacies would be exposed. As so faculty mbers returned, the more self-aware assistants switched from teaching to attending lectures, though still a few were overconfident.
They were called ‘chicken feathers’ because during campaigns they would often boast, “Who says chicken feathers cannot ascend to the heavens?”
When Professor Xie ntioned ‘chicken feathers’, his voice dripped with sarcasm; these past few years, he had suffered enough from their nuisances. Continuing, he said, “What you need to do now is to go to the hospital, face the patients, and apply your theoretical knowledge to practice, not rely engage in armchair strategizing. Look at those famous doctors, aren’t they all seasoned by seeing thousands upon thousands of patients? Much of their renown cos from the experience they’ve accrued.”
