Chapter 1436: Chapter 1436: Trivial Life 4
“Pinky promise!” Lu Erxiong stretched out his little hand and hooked it with Zheng Jinrui’s, “Pinky promise to hang, not allowed to change for a hundred years.”
So, everyone saw a red and blue fat frog hopping around the room.
While hopping rrily, he shouted loudly: “I’m a big frog, a big frog, I’m a big frog, big frog, big frogs have at to eat, little frogs have no at to eat.”
The comical movents made everyone burst into hearty laughter, tilting and swaying with joy.
Zheng Jinrui and Chen Xueniang kept their promise and, after eating, took Lu Erxiong out. They also took Fubao and Dundun, fully bundled up with only two eyes showing; Wang Cuilan followed with an umbrella.
Only Zhuangzhuang was reluctant to go outside, so naturally, Feng Qingxue had to stay at ho to accompany her son.
“Alright, I’ll bring back lamb skewers and hotpot lamb for lunch, so don’t bother cooking,” said Chen Xueniang, picking up a lunchbox before leaving.
You can skip cooking, but soup has to be stewed.
The firewood at ho wasn’t enough for an entire winter, so Wang Xinsheng got them several sacks of coal. Feng Qingxue also added so from her personal space. Now, throwing a few pieces of coal into the stove, the bright red flas reflected on the faces of the mother and child, very warm.
Once the soup was ready, not a single person from Ping Zhengkai’s group showed up.
Feng Qingxue first served herself and her little son two bowls of soup, picking off so soft at from the bones, enjoying a delicious al.
She had wanted to send so to the old professors to warm their bodies, but since Zhuangzhuang had previously complained about the cold and didn’t want to go outside, she waited until the evening when Wang Cuilan and Chen Xueniang were ho watching the children to deliver it to the old professors separately.
The steaming hot soup packed in ceramic jars, wrapped outside with small quilts, was still hot when it reached the old professors’ hands.
Most of these undeployed old professors still lived in the houses allocated to them by the state. It’s just that their original houses now had one or two other families squeezed in, and they only had a small room to themselves.
Professor Xie was in such a situation, but because he could provide dical treatnt, he was treated slightly better and nobody made life difficult for him.
Feng Qingxue was the last to visit Professor Xie’s ho. She nodded at the two unfamiliar households, pulled out a few pieces of candy from her pocket to give to each of the three children from the two families. The eldest was seven or eight years old, the youngest three or four, giving two each. They were ordinary fruit hard candies. Then she entered Professor Xie’s room amidst their thanks.
“Drink it yourself, there’s no need to run so far especially to bring it over.” Sipping the piping hot soup, Professor Xie felt both his heart and body warming up, his eyes squinting into slits, “It’s been a long ti since I’ve had such fresh soup.”
“If you like it, drink more. I’ll bring so over again when I get a chance.”
Feng Qingxue poured the rest of the soup into his usual pot, which also had bits of at shredded from the lamb’s head and bones, sliced cooked lamb liver, and so leftover hotpot lamb that Zheng Jinrui and his group had brought back from lunch, “Heat the rest tomorrow morning, it’s good soaked with stead buns or pancakes, or even with noodles, I’m going back now.”
Professor Xie waved his hand. After several months, he was no longer polite with this student.
Feng Qingxue, carrying a basket with the empty ceramic jar, headed ho. As she was nearing her doorway, she suddenly saw Old Jin, wandering along the street with so bruising on his face, looking quite pitiful.
After leaving the Capital, they had found a way to send the grains they owed to Old Jin, anonymously sent, and after that, there was no further contact.
…I’ll update a bit now. After totaling, I owe fourteen thousand words, and starting today, I’ll earnestly make up part of it. The next update ti will be in the evening.
