"His leg has healed, and he’s more handso than ever." Zhou i’s voice was incredibly loud, as if she were afraid Dong Yuanyuan wouldn’t hear her.

Her words landed like a boulder in a calm lake, creating a massive stir.

It wasn’t just that Su Shuochi was back; it was that he had fully recovered. The news was simply staggering.

A look of shock flashed across Dong Yuanyuan’s face. She stopped in her tracks, standing there stunned, her eyes filled with disbelief.

In He Aiguo’s eyes, however, this unconscious action ant only one thing.

’The news of Su Shuochi’s return has affected her so deeply that she’s even forgotten how to walk.’

As he thought this, a pang of jealousy shot through He Aiguo, though he quickly suppressed it.

’I know I shouldn’t be jealous. After all, she has always been in love with Su Shuochi.’

But he still felt sick to his stomach—extrely sick—and a little helpless.

Just monts ago, he’d been filled with guilt over what had happened with Sheng Yueyue.

But now, his guilt had lessened. ’Doesn’t she have another man in her heart, too?!’

’I only craved Sheng Yueyue’s forwardness and passion. I don’t actually like her. I’ve never had an emotional affair.’

He watched his wife’s face, filled with anticipation and anxiety for another man.

He was suddenly furious. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. A strange sensation washed over him, sharp and painful, as if he were being cut by a knife.

At the sa ti, however, he felt a sense of relief. ’Since my wife has another man in her heart, the mistake I made can surely be forgiven.’

’This might even be a good thing for . I’ve always known she had soone else in her heart anyway.’

But he still let out a cold laugh and asked caustically, "Yuanyuan, why so excited about Su Shuochi’s return? Don’t tell you’re so happy you’re thinking about divorce again?"

Hearing his passive-aggressive tone, Dong Yuanyuan couldn’t contain her own burst of anger.

She whipped her head around and yelled at her husband, "That’s right! He’s back, and I am divorcing you."

She regretted it the mont the words left her mouth, because she clearly saw her husband’s expression darken.

She lowered her head, anxiously wringing her hands. ’He’s such a petty person; how could I not know what he’s thinking?’

She knew her rash words had provoked her husband, but she truly hadn’t been thinking about divorce.

Sure enough, her husband’s face fell, darkening bit by bit.

"Heh... heh heh... heh heh heh... You’re really sothing else." He Aiguo’s laugh was a cold, continuous sneer, and his eyes were full of scorn as he looked at his wife.

"What’s the matter? Did I hit a nerve? You really are still thinking about him. Well, let tell you sothing—he’s not worthy.

You are my wife, He Aiguo’s wife. From now on, your heart belongs to and alone. Don’t you even think about pining for anyone else."

He Aiguo’s words were domineering, yet spoken as if they were the most natural thing in the world.

Normally, Dong Yuanyuan would have been furious, but today she didn’t argue. She even seed to tacitly accept his words.

Dong Yuanyuan frantically shook her head. "No, no, I was just surprised to hear how well he’s recovered. I got over him a long ti ago. You’re the only one in my heart."

She denied it so quickly because, in truth, she did still long for him.

But she couldn’t admit it now.

’If I admit it, my husband will get angry. I know his temper all too well. It might have been different back when he was completely devoted to .’

’But now he’s capable of fooling around with other won. If I anger him further, who knows what the consequences will be.’

Panic surged through Dong Yuanyuan, each wave stronger than the last. She didn’t want a divorce, because that other man would never, ever marry her!

His handso, familiar face kept flashing in her mind, but the expression he wore when he looked at her was one of utter disgust.

For a fleeting mont, she had considered going to find him right away. The urge had been powerful.

But when she rembered the day he had coldly scared her so badly she’d wet herself, fear took over.

The mory made her shrink from the thought of approaching him. Yet, at this mont, she had to admit the truth.

Once, she had been truly in love with the man nad Su Shuochi. Even now, hearing his na still sent a thrill through her.

But she knew he could never like her, let alone marry her!

Back then, even when he was in a wheelchair, he had ignored her and cruelly intimidated her.

Now that he had recovered, according to her rival, he would be even less likely to give her the ti of day.

So why would she go looking for humiliation?

’I should just let him be a secret buried deep in my heart. Perhaps this secret will stay with for the rest of my life, my heart forever fluttering for him.’

Outwardly, however, she held firm in her denial. She couldn’t give her husband the wrong impression.

’Even if he knows I have soone else in my heart, as long as I don’t admit it, he can just write it off as a foolish youthful crush.’

Seeing his wife’s cautious deanor made He Aiguo exceptionally pleased.

’I long to pull her into my arms and kiss her fiercely, but as a man, I have to maintain my pride in front of others.’

So, a cruel smile touched the corner of his lips, and his eyes turned icy. "You’re really not going to go see him?"

"Guo, I’m your wife. How can you push toward soone else? Ever since we got married, you’re the only one in my heart and in my eyes."

Seeing how pragmatic she was being, the man pulled her into a satisfying hug and kissed her, right in front of Zhou i.

Then he said dotingly, "Since that’s settled, let’s go handle the discharge papers."

With that, he walked away, holding his wife in his arms, and never looked back.

Zhou i, left standing there, was so furious she could have spit blood. Her heart suddenly felt hollow. ’Why couldn’t I have t a man that good!’

Ever since getting married, she had worked tirelessly to maintain the relationship with her husband.

But in his eyes, her efforts were nothing but a one-woman show. He’d just accuse her of looking down on his mother.

He’d say that looking down on his mother was the sa as looking down on him. He didn’t have an ounce of respect for her; in fact, he seed to look at her with a hint of disgust.

Her own life was so miserable, yet Dong Yuanyuan, who also had a crush on Shuoci, was living so well.

She had clearly seen that bitch’s eyes light up with joy when she heard Shuoci was back.

But her husband completely ignored it, held her, and walked off. What a shaless creature.

But Zhou i’s hatred was useless. She could only trudge back to the Zhou family’s ho, thinking that at least there, she could stand on her balcony and watch her Shuoci.

As if she’d been shot full of adrenaline, her spirits lifted. She straightened her spine and walked proudly out of the hospital.

anwhile, after leaving the factory, Su Shuochi didn’t return to the compound. Instead, he went to their new house on Xiangyang Street.

He had taken Song Zijie’s advice, partly because he wanted to avoid the hassle of running into Dong Yuanyuan and other won.

On their way ho after closing up their stall, Mr. Su and Su’s mother heard from Song Zijie that their son had gone to the new house, so they also got a ride in his car to Xiangyang Street.
