Everyone stared at the numbers on the screen, holding their breath. So were thrilled, while others were in utter disbelief.

Was this young woman saving a life or taking one? All eyes followed Gu Jiaojiao’s every move.

After a few monts, the patient’s face was no longer a deathly pallor but had regained so color.

In such a short ti, using no dical equipnt and relying only on a single Golden Needle, she had stabilized the dying patient’s vital functions.

The hospital dean standing beside Gu Jiaojiao gasped, his mouth hanging open in utter disbelief.

The two professors at the doorway frowned. Professor Tao murmured with a sigh, "How is this possible?"

Gu Jiaojiao shot him a cool glance, a faint smile playing on her lips. "Professor Tao, from the way you said that, it sounds like you don’t want the patient to get better."

"That’s not it at all! I was just..." Professor Tao said awkwardly, stamring, at a loss for words.

’How could this little brat think that? What kind of person does she take for!?’

The second vice dean standing beside Professor Tao couldn’t bear to see his friend in such an awkward position.

He roared furiously, "Gu Jiaojiao, don’t get cocky just because you got lucky this ti!"

"Tsk, tsk. And to think you’re dical professors, harboring such malicious thoughts."

"What nonsense are you talking about?" the second vice dean roared, his anger boiling over.

"Do you think being loud makes you right? Look at yourselves. The patient has stabilized, yet you both look so disappointed."

Tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear, Gu Jiaojiao deliberately feigned a look of pure, innocent confusion.

"Teacher Jiaojiao is really amazing," Professor Frank said, applauding as he spoke.

The other foreign experts chid in with their agreent, also applauding enthusiastically.

Principal Shen and the old dean, snapping out of their shock, also began to clap. "Jiaojiao is truly remarkable."

Gu Jiaojiao held up her hands to quiet the room. "Everyone, please step outside," she said in a clear voice. "The patient is stable now and needs to rest quietly."

The dean instructed the attending physician to look after the patient, then led the group to the hospital’s main conference room.

"Next, our main topic of discussion will be the philosophy and techniques of acupuncture. I believe Teacher Jiaojiao has extensive research experience in this field, so..."

A professor from the foreign languages departnt translated for Professor Frank, after which everyone began their discussion.

Professor Frank and the other foreign experts had always believed that traditional Chinese dicine was a step behind its Western counterpart.

They had been convinced that the only hope for a critically ill patient was the ICU, with its top-of-the-line dical equipnt.

But after today, they no longer believed that. The problem was, they didn’t know the first thing about Chinese acupuncture techniques!

’Looks like we’ll have to stick to our top-of-the-line dical equipnt from now on!’

Professor Tao was a professor of Western dicine who had studied abroad. In his younger days, his surgical skills had been considered among the best.

But Gu Jiaojiao had serious doubts about Professor Tao. ’With his personality, I find it hard to believe he could have beco a renowned doctor, let alone a professor.’

’A man like him seed more likely to leave a scalpel or a piece of gauze inside a patient’s stomach and beco infamous for all ti.’

And yet, reality had sohow allowed Professor Tao to beco a renowned doctor of his generation, a highly respected professor no less.

’Was he just blessed with good luck, or was it that dical standards were so low back then that no one suspected malpractice, simply blaming their own bad fortune instead?’

While everyone was deep in discussion, Professor Tao grew flustered under Gu Jiaojiao’s gaze. He didn’t dare to speak up.

He tried to make himself as inconspicuous as possible. He had indeed perford many surgeries in his life. So of his patients were now alive and well.

But there were also patients who, not long after he’d supposedly saved them, developed inexplicable, severe pain and ultimately died, the cause of their agony never found.

He had many successful cases, but a fair number of failures, too. He had nothing to be proud of.

For the past few years, he hadn’t dared to perform surgery at all. Although he held the post of vice dean at the hospital, he spent most of his ti teaching at the university.

It had been a busy day, and another one where Gu Jiaojiao had shone brilliantly. With that, her visit to the hospital ca to an end.

Principal Shen led the group to see off the foreign experts. Professor Frank, however, would be staying to teach at Imperial University.

He knew Gu Jiaojiao must be tired after the day’s events, so he didn’t pester her after they returned to the university.

After her classes, Gu Jiaojiao went straight ho. Su Shuochi was already there.

He had also had an incredibly busy day. The younger mbers of the Han family and the Xiao Family, along with Mu Ziquan, all wanted to beco his apprentices.

He was already their grand-uncle by marriage, so taking them on as apprentices felt natural.

Su Shuochi was studying a large-scale IC machine. Its safety performance was extrely high.

He planned to reverse-engineer it for production, then release it to both dostic and international markets.

He had seen it countless tis in his wife’s pocket dinsion, which was how he was able to draw the complete blueprint from mory.

The mont Mu Ziquan saw the blueprint, he was struck with an indescribable shock. ’So her husband is this brilliant.’

’And all this ti, I thought he was just a brute!’

’From that day on, he didn’t dare to dream of being with her. She was his grand-aunt, the unattainable love of his life.’

Once Mu Ziquan adjusted his mindset, he was able to grasp the general contents of the blueprint.

However, when it ca to the intricate micro-components in the diagram, he was still completely in the dark.

Listening to his grand-uncle’s explanation, he only understood that many parts were for system safeguards and remote-control functions.

But as for the specifics of how to operate it, he was clueless, to say nothing of the younger mbers of the Han and Xiao families.

To them, it was like trying to read a celestial script. They pointed at the blueprint, asking all sorts of questions, a constant stream of lavish praise pouring from their mouths.

Su Shuochi had seen the actual machine, so he spoke with an easy confidence that made him seem incredibly knowledgeable to everyone present.

Their admiration for him flowed like a surging river, especially from the apprentices who had been by his side the longest.

They were also fascinated by this kind of dical equipnt; the production of each new model made their blood boil with excitent.

But now, they had run into a problem: the space inside the IC machine was simply too small.

They needed to work on the machine’s internal capacity and proportions, all of which had strict limitations.

Even with the blueprint complete, developing a physical prototype wasn’t sothing that could be done in a day or two. It would require at least a month or two of refinent and modification.

Su Shuochi left the work to his apprentices. "You all can take your ti with the research. I’m going ho to cook for your grand-aunt."

"Alright, Grand-uncle! Take care!"

"Grand-uncle, you should cook for us soday, too!"

"Heh, in your dreams!"

In a rare good mood, Su Shuochi said, "Develop a working prototype as soon as you can, and your grand-aunt and I will cook you all a feast to celebrate."

With that, he strode out of the laboratory, leaving his apprentices behind, who were now buzzing with energy and chattering excitedly.

They weren’t discussing the dical device, but rather what kind of wives they hoped to marry in the future.

"I want to be like our Master and marry a wife who’s gentle and sweet like our Grand-aunt."

"I like girls who are a little weepy and soft... and know how to say all the right things. A girl like that would steal my heart in an instant."

As Mu Ziquan listened to the others, he thought to himself: ’She’s gentle, that’s for sure. But sweet? I’m not so sure about that.’

’Weepy? Definitely not. Soft? Well, that’s absolutely true.’
