"Professor Frank, did you just say these Chinese patent dicine pills are what your aunt has been taking long-term?"

"Yes, my aunt is the Queen. There’s a great deal to manage in the inner court every day, so she often suffers from insomnia."

Professor Frank was too embarrassed to tell a young lady that his uncle was the King, and that while there might not be three thousand beauties in the inner court, there were still several dozen.

His aunt spent most of her days dealing with the endless petty squabbles among the Princess Consorts as they vied for favor.

The matters ranged from sothing as serious as harming another’s unborn child to sothing as trivial as fighting over a dress.

With his aunt facing such a chaotic ss every day, it was a wonder she didn’t suffer from insomnia and nightmares!

"Poor sleep quality can lead to irritability and nervous exhaustion. It must be treated as soon as possible.

Simply treating it as a common sleep problem is useless. In fact, as ti goes on, it will only get worse."

Gu Jiaojiao chose her words carefully, hinting to Frank that she had discovered other substances mixed into the pills.

"Ah! No wonder my aunt has had to increase her dosage every day!" Professor Frank said, his voice low.

"Teacher Jiaojiao, the four of them are returning to their respective countries tomorrow. One of them, Francis, is a senior professor from our country."

Professor Frank’s unspoken question for Gu Jiaojiao was written all over his face.

His expression scread at her: ’Do you have a better Chinese dicine for Francis to take back with him?’

She exchanged a glance with Principal Shen. ’I definitely have a redy. Should I give it to them?’

Principal Shen’s look seed to say: ’A Divine Doctor indeed! Of course you should give it to them if you have it. This is a wonderful opportunity to bring glory to our country.’

Having received the principal’s go-ahead, Gu Jiaojiao looked at Professor Frank seriously and said,

"I have a purely herbal Chinese formula for insomnia and restless sleep, but you probably can’t find the necessary ingredients in your country.

I’ll go ho and make them into dicine pills now, and I will bring them to the university for you first thing tomorrow morning."

"Wonderful! Do you need to help?" Professor Frank asked excitedly.

"That won’t be necessary. You’re all parting ways tomorrow, so you must have plenty to talk about today. I’ll be going now. See you in the morning."

With that, Gu Jiaojiao left without a backward glance. ’Are you kidding? As if I’d bring them along. Impossible.’

Principal Shen watched Gu Jiaojiao’s retreating figure and said to the other foreign professors, "Professor Frank has agreed to teach at Imperial University for a year. He’ll have plenty of ti to eat his way through all the delicacies the Imperial City has to offer."

"Haha, that’s true. Teacher Jiaojiao must be in a hurry today. In the future, I’ll follow her and eat my way through all the cuisine of the Empire."

Frank let out a triumphant laugh, earning envious glares from his companions.

They wanted to stay as well, but they lacked his credentials, and more importantly, they didn’t have the freedom to make that choice for themselves.

After returning ho, Gu Jiaojiao entered her space, grabbed a chicken, and butchered it. She set aside half to make a soup and kept the other half to stir-fry for dinner.

She already had ready-made dicine pills for insomnia and restless sleep in her space. However, if she simply gave them to Frank, they wouldn’t seem very precious.

Besides, this gave her an excuse to go ho and cook for Su Shuochi. Lately, he had been the one coming ho to cook and wait for her.

She had seen how exhausted he looked at noon, and her heart ached for him. ’My beloved man shouldn’t have to live such a draining life.’

’Managing two factories all by himself... If Su Shuochi wasn’t drinking the spiritual spring water every day, he probably would have collapsed from exhaustion!’

It wasn’t that the two of them were greedy for money; it was that the country and its people desperately needed this new dical equipnt.

A developing nation needs many talented people and pioneers to make personal sacrifices.

Both she and her husband were working so hard, especially Su Shuochi, who wracked his brains every day to innovate.

Even though she had instrunts in her space for him to replicate, it was still exhausting for him to draw the schematics and conduct the research all on his own.

anwhile, she was also pouring all her effort into treating several heroes, both young and old. With classes to teach as well, she had almost no ti to take care of him.

Since she had the ti today, Gu Jiaojiao was determined to make a delicious al to reward him for all his hard work.

As Gu Jiaojiao worried about him, the man on her mind, Su Shuochi, was being inford that a large group of thugs had co to the factory gates to cause trouble.

Su Shuochi knew their factory would cut into so people’s profits and that soone would eventually co looking for trouble.

But he hadn’t expected them to co so soon. He hurried toward the factory entrance.

Although Jiaoci dical Equipnt Factory had powerful backers, those families hadn’t sent anyone to help manage it.

The troublemakers assud the factory had no backing, so they colluded with several other families to hire dozens of thugs to stir up trouble.

The thugs who ca looking for trouble today felt they had powerful backers, so every one of them was full of bravado.

Take the prominent Lin family of the Imperial City, for example, which had marriage ties to several other major families.

The Wang Family and Zhang Family, who deferred to the Lin family, were involved. From the political sphere, Fourth Uncle Fu had also joined in, bringing along so unknown minor officials.

But the security guards at the factory gate were no pushovers. Among them were specially trained Hidden Guards from the Han and Mu families.

These n weren’t the type to be afraid of trouble in the first place, especially after hearing how Gu Jiaojiao had taken down a dozen thugs with her bare hands.

They certainly couldn’t let themselves be looked down on. The mont they saw people at the gate causing trouble, heh, Mu Jiu charged forward without hesitation and started handing out a savage beating.

Not to be outdone, Han Shiyi of the Han family brandished an iron rod custom-made for them by their young master-in-law and charged in, swinging wildly.

Adding to the fray were Wang Yuejin and his two companions. Ever since joining the factory, they had been eating their fill and sleeping soundly.

The three of them were in the middle of a training session; all new employees had to undergo a week of factory training.

The n trained in combat, and the won in etiquette. Jiaoci dical Equipnt Factory refused to hire any shrew-like employees.

Therefore, all employees had to complete the training before they could start their jobs. Of course, food and lodging were provided during the training period.

Anyone who failed the training would be dismissed, so everyone put their all into learning.

Wang Yuejin and his two companions were the only ones in the current training batch. Hearing a shout from a guard at the entrance, they imdiately rushed over and joined the fight.

The group of troublemakers consisted of over eighty thugs. Their leader, a man with a scarred face, was a forr petty thief.

His subordinates had decent Combat Power, and besides, they had been paid by a wealthy client to co and trash the place.

They believed they had a powerful backer, which was why they’d co to the factory gates to stir up trouble with such confidence.

Unfortunately for them, they had run into Mu Jiu and Han Shiyi, not to ntion Wang Yuejin and his friends, who had grown up doing hard manual labor.

And so, their group of over eighty n was being thoroughly thrashed by a dozen or so people. The scar-faced leader was howling in agony under Mu Jiu’s beating.

His face twisted in agony, and a cold sweat beaded on his forehead, making his expression look savage and distorted. He couldn’t stop himself from crying out for his parents.

His agonized screams echoed through the sky in the city’s outskirts.

"Tell who sent you here to cause trouble! Don’t talk? I’ll beat you ’til you’re crying for your mommy! We have backers, too, you know."

Mu Jiu said arrogantly, his foot planted on the scar-faced leader’s back.

"That’s right! Grind them all into the dirt! Let these sons of bitches know how tough we are!"

Just as Han Shiyi was cursing, they heard the sound of approaching police sirens. "WEE-WOO... WEE-WOO... WEE-WOO~"
