Back to the 1980s: Transmigrated as the Bigshot's Pampered Wife Chapter 308: Don’t Think You Can Get Rid of Him
An hour later, Mr. Ren ca over, happily carrying a bowl of herbal dicine and calling out loudly.
"Jiaojiao, Fang Yu, the dicine is ready! Just as you instructed, Jiaojiao, I simred three bowls of water down to one."
Gu Jiaojiao had just finished removing the silver needles. "You’re amazing, Grandfather! Let’s go wait in the courtyard. He can drink it once it cools down a bit."
Ren Fangyu gazed at the bowl of pitch-black dicine with anticipation. No matter how it tasted, he would drink every last drop.
"Cousin, are you feeling a little more comfortable?"
"After three treatnts with the silver needles, I feel much better," Ren Fangyu answered honestly.
"Okay, go boil a bucket of water now and let it cool. You might need to take a bath after you drink the dicine."
"Okay, I’ll go boil the water now." With that, Ren Fangyu left.
"Jiaojiao, I’m going to check on the kitchen. Your cousin probably doesn’t know how to start a fire."
"Alright! I’ll watch the dicine here and call my cousin over when it’s the right temperature to drink."
Once Mr. Ren and his grandson were gone, Gu Jiaojiao waited for the dicine to cool a bit more, then poured out half of it and mixed in half a bowl of spiritual spring water.
Since Mr. Ren had brewed the dicine himself, he would never suspect Gu Jiaojiao of adding anything to it.
Before long, Ren Fangyu ca over and asked eagerly, "Jiaojiao, has the dicine cooled down?"
’I wouldn’t mind if it’s still a little hot,’ he thought, but he was too embarrassed to say it out loud. He was just so eager to see the effects of the dicine.
"I was just about to call you. It should be ready to drink now. Why don’t you have it?" In truth, Gu Jiaojiao was even more eager to see the results than Ren Fangyu was.
Hearing his cousin say that, Ren Fangyu saw no reason to hesitate. He strode over and picked up the dicine bowl.
GULP, GULP. He downed it in a few big swallows. ’Bitter! This is way too bitter!’
But he gritted his teeth and finished it in the blink of an eye.
He wasn’t sure if it was just a psychological effect, but soon after drinking the dicine, his entire body began to ache. He did his best to endure the pain.
"Ah... ah... Jiaojiao, quick, take a look at ! Am I poisoned?" Ren Fangyu cried out, rolling on the ground in agony.
Gu Jiaojiao knew how potent the spiritual spring water was, but she hadn’t expected that just this one dose would have Ren Fangyu rolling on the ground in pain.
’Her man really is sothing else,’ she thought. ’He downed three whole cups in one go and didn’t even grunt.’
’He only cried out in pain when he was soaking in the Spiritual Spring itself. Nothing like Ren Fangyu, rolling on the ground so shalessly.’
’Now I know,’ she thought. ’In the future, I can only mix in a few drops of spiritual spring water for elderly people at most.’
Gu Jiaojiao already knew what was happening, but she still made a show of checking Ren Fangyu’s pulse.
While checking his pulse, she shook her head thoughtfully and said, "Heavens, this is a good thing! The toxins in your body are being continuously expelled."
"The process is extrely painful, but the results will be beyond your imagination. My Master Jiaojiao is so incredible!"
"Cousin, just bear with it a little longer. Once the toxins are purged, you’ll be completely cured, and you won’t need daily treatnts with the silver needles anymore."
Gu Jiaojiao wrinkled her nose and brow as she spoke, but it was actually because she was repulsed by the foul sll coming off Ren Fangyu.
Mr. Ren didn’t realize this, however. He thought Gu Jiaojiao was frowning in confusion because she hadn’t anticipated the dicine’s side effects.
"Master Jiaojiao truly is a Divine Doctor! Fang Yu, just bear with it. You’ll be fine once this wave of pain passes."
When Mr. Ren ca out and saw his grandson rolling on the ground, he was initially very worried. But after hearing Gu Jiaojiao’s explanation, he threw his head back and laughed.
His old, arthritic legs were healed, his grandson’s strange illness was cured... Jiaojiao was a true granddaughter to the Ren family. No, she was dearer to them than their own flesh and blood.
Although Ren Fangyu was a far cry from Su Shuochi, he was still much stronger than the average person.
Even though the pain was enough to make him roll on the ground, he no longer scread, letting out only low whimpers.
Screaming constantly would only arouse the curiosity of others and attract unwanted attention.
After a long while, Ren Fangyu said happily, "Jiaojiao, it doesn’t hurt at all anymore! Co and take a look, am I cured?"
"Cousin, if the pain is gone, it ans the toxins have been completely purged. You should go wash up first. You reek! There’s no way I’m getting anywhere near you!"
Gu Jiaojiao said, pinching her nose. She was not the type to make herself suffer unnecessarily.
"Fang Yu, I’ve already ladled the water into the bucket. Hurry to the washroom and get cleaned up. We can’t have you stinking up the place for Jiaojiao."
Mr. Ren also thought the sll was terrible, though he was too embarrassed to say so directly. He looked at Gu Jiaojiao with an even more affectionate gaze.
’A young lady should be a little delicate like this, but not pretentious. How wonderful!’
’His own daughter has such poor judgnt. To ignore such an outstanding adopted daughter and instead spoil that good-for-nothing Sheng Yueyue... What a fool.’
The grandfather and grandson from the Ren family headed toward the washroom in high spirits, one after the other.
Watching from within his space, Su Shuochi was in complete awe of how his wife handled things.
’Only now do I realize,’ he thought, ’that she’s more rational, more worldly, and so much smarter than I am.’
During their intimate monts, she had casually ntioned that she’d been to many countries in her past life.
She had even received personal invitations from the presidents of several small countries, all because of her incredible dical skills.
He recalled the shock and worry he felt the first ti he saw her pull sothing out of her space.
The mory was still vivid in his mind.
Back then, he had foolishly lectured her nonstop, yet she had never looked down on him for it.
’She’s truly wonderful, and she loves so much.’ The more Su Shuochi thought about it, the sweeter he felt inside.
After his injury, he had been subjected to the malicious gossip and pointed fingers of others. Day after day, it chipped away at his once-unshakable ntal fortitude.
It had made him increasingly insecure and withdrawn. He just wanted to fade into the background, hoping to quietly accompany his parents until the end of their lives.
But ever since she ca into his life, her masterful dical skills had given him infinite hope, and he had beco confident and vibrant once more.
Now, he could even move freely. He couldn’t wait to walk to her side.
While the Ren grandfather and grandson were away at the washroom, he brought out his wheelchair and appeared in the courtyard. "Jiaojiao, I’m back."
"Su Shuochi, you... You’ve worked hard." Gu Jiaojiao had wanted to ask if he had succeeded in his training.
But she was afraid her grandfather might co out and overhear, so she quickly changed her phrasing.
She stared at the man before her. Although he was still in a wheelchair, his posture was different. She was captivated.
"Do I look good?" Seeing her staring blankly at him, Su Shuochi leaned in close and asked in a low voice.
Gu Jiaojiao answered instinctively, "Very good. Your entire aura is different."
"How good?" Su Shuochi’s voice dropped even lower, laced with a husky, bewitching charm.
"I’m not talking to you anymore." Gu Jiaojiao blushed and took a step back. They had been together constantly during this period.
It was because she knew him so well that she could guess what he was about to do. ’He’s such a shaless dog.’
"Wifey, you can’t ignore . I’m sticking with you for life, so don’t even think about trying to shake off."
After arriving in the courtyard, Su Shuochi’s attention was focused entirely on Gu Jiaojiao.
He didn’t even notice Mr. Ren approaching until he heard a booming laugh. "Haha... Shuo Ci, you’re really sothing else!"
