Upon hearing the familiar voice, Su Xiaoxiao turned her head and saw Song Weidong, also in a crisp military uniform, walking over.

Zhou Cheng followed the sound and looked over, recognizing the young comrade walking toward them.

"Sergeant Song?"

Zhou Cheng frowned, not expecting that Song Weidong actually knew Comrade Zhou and seemingly quite well.

They could only be considered acquaintances, not particularly familiar.

Song Weidong had joined the army a few months ago, and because of his face that looked even more beautiful than a woman’s, he had garnered quite a bit of attention as soon as he arrived.

Everyone gossiped behind his back, guessing that this pretty boy with a feminine appearance was a relative of a high-ranking official, recruited specially.

Many speculated that he was probably there just for a few months of training and would eventually leave, unable to bear the hardship.

Yet, unexpectedly, after only a short while, Song Weidong was promoted to Sergeant due to his exceptional performance.

The news left many people dissatisfied at the ti.

It wasn’t until a big contest where he single-handedly defeated over ten challengers that everyone acknowledged him.

Rumor had it that he was the second coming of Commander Zhou.

Their eyes t in mid-air, each seeing the challenge in the other’s eyes.

Song Weidong’s gaze swept over him, and a smile spread across his face: "Commander Zhou, what a coincidence, why aren’t you going in?"

"Isn’t Sergeant Song also not going in?"

Zhou Cheng pursed his lips and looked at him, very curious about his relationship with Comrade Su.

"Do you two know each other?"

Su Xiaoxiao curiously looked at Song Weidong and then at Zhou Cheng.

The two spoke simultaneously when they heard her voice: "Not well!"

After speaking, Song Weidong looked at Su Xiaoxiao: "Comrade Su, does the thing we talked about before still count?"

As these words fell, Zhou Cheng also looked over warily, silently moving a step closer to eavesdrop openly.

Su Xiaoxiao was puzzled; when did she ever agree to anything with Song Weidong? She couldn’t rember at all?

Seeing her confused look, it was clear she had forgotten everything he ntioned before.

But with a rival present, one could not lose face.

He lightly coughed and began: "I an the agreent to choose for the social gathering, do you... not rember?"

Zhou Cheng frowned even more tightly, a strong sense of crisis welling up inside him. It seed that Song Weidong and Comrade Su were pretty close.

Su Xiaoxiao’s expression grew more puzzled: "But I never planned to attend any social gathering, so how could I agree to it?"

With that, the two n on the scene imdiately beca alert.

Could it be that Comrade Su already had a partner? Otherwise, why wouldn’t she attend the gathering?

Zhou Cheng was especially tense; he had clearly asked Political Commissar Zhou to pass on a ssage, so why this outco?

Could Comrade Su have found a partner in such a short ti?

With Comrade Su’s looks, it wasn’t a small possibility.

Both turned to Su Xiaoxiao, waiting for her response.

Being stared at eagerly by two pairs of eyes, Su Xiaoxiao felt like a small rabbit targeted by starving wolves, weak, pitiful, and helpless.

No, she simply didn’t want to join social gatherings, did they have to look at her as if she had broken so taboo?

She wasn’t guilty of a capital cri.

After contemplating for a long ti, she steeled her heart to speak honestly: "I’m still young, I don’t want a relationship right now, no ti for it."

Turns out it was like this, and both of them simultaneously let out a sigh of relief.

They exchanged glances again, full of hostility.

"Commander Zhou, I forgot to tell you, Comrade Su and I went to high school together. We’ve known each other for many years."

Song Weidong provocatively spoke first.

Although Su Xiaoxiao often skipped school before, and they truly got acquainted during the last month of senior year, that wasn’t important.

What mattered was letting him know that their relationship was much closer than he thought.

Zhou Cheng wanted to speak too, but considering that they had only known each other a few months and could count the number of tis they’d t on one hand, plus Su always treating him with aloof strangeness...

He opened his mouth only to close it with a dark expression.

There really wasn’t anything worth showing off, damn it!

First round, Song Weidong wins!

Seeing Zhou Cheng unable to respond, Song Weidong felt even more triumphant: "Comrade Su, that’s the watch I gave you, right? Do you still like it?"

He glimpsed the watch on Su Xiaoxiao’s wrist, and a brighter smile spread on his face.

If Su Xiaoxiao was wearing the watch he gave her, it ant she liked him.

ntioning the watch reminded Su Xiaoxiao she should give Song Weidong a proper gift in return.

She imdiately said, "I like it, thank you. Comrade Song, when’s your birthday? I’d like to give you a gift too."

As a return gift.

Song Weidong’s joy blossod, and he raised an eyebrow at Zhou Cheng as if to say, "Did you hear? Comrade Su wants to give a birthday gift."

Zhou Cheng’s face was so dark it could almost drip ink.

But unwilling to give up, he could only remain sulkily by their side.

Across from them, Qin Shuang, acting as the invisible person, looked at this love triangle, wiping her sweat in relief that she only had a childhood engagent and didn’t have to deal with such things.

The sparks in their glances during the face-off almost shot into the air, and she was having a hard ti holding up.

Thinking about this, she looked at Su Xiaoxiao with admiration. Her idol, Comrade Su, was truly calm and composed.

Little did she know, so people in the world are inherently dense in romantic matters, like Su Xiaoxiao.

Song Weidong’s cheeks reddened slightly, "Thank you, Comrade Su. My birthday is next week, but there’s no need for a gift. Just having you join for dinner would be the best gift."

Su Xiaoxiao nodded, "I’ll rember that."

New Zhou Cheng saw they completely ignored him, unable to stay any longer, and turned to leave.

Just as he was about to take a step, he heard Su Xiaoxiao’s voice, "Comrade Zhou, when is your birthday? I’d also like to give you a gift."

Zhou Cheng halted his lifted foot suddenly, feeling a trickle of sweetness in his heart like a gentle stream that grew more turbulent.

Pretending to be calm, he pursed his lips, intending to say it was next month, but upon realizing Song Weidong’s birthday was next week, he quickly changed his answer: "My birthday is tomorrow."

Hearing this, Song Weidong frowned at him. Didn’t this guy celebrate his birthday on base a month ago?

He rembered seeing so people from their camp celebrating in the ss hall, and soone ntioned it was Commander Zhou’s birthday. There couldn’t be a second Commander Zhou on base.

Damn, this guy was lying!

Just as he thought this, Su Xiaoxiao laughed, "Perfect, Comrade Zhou, if you don’t mind, let’s have dinner together after work tomorrow."

As soon as she finished speaking, a cold voice interjected: "Comrade Su, I was mistaken earlier, my birthday is also tomorrow."

Su Xiaoxiao: "..."

Both of them having their birthdays tomorrow, are they teasing her?
