"Comrade Xiao Su, Comrade Xiao Su..."

Dong Guoqiang excitedly waved at her while shouting loudly.

Su Xiaoxiao was also shouting, "Director Dong... Director Dong, please move out of the way... ahhhh..."

She frantically waved at him, but Dong Guoqiang apparently misunderstood and waved even more vigorously in response.

With a "bang" sound, Dong Guoqiang, weighing over one hundred and forty pounds, was knocked into a perfect parabolic arc and then hit the ground with a "thud," raising a cloud of dust.

Su Xiaoxiao fell with her bike as well, but luckily wasn’t hurt due to the elasticity of the ground.

Just as she was thinking this, she heard a miserable cry from underneath her.

"Ahhhh... help... help..."

Su Xiaoxiao jumped up, realizing that the "ground" she felt under her was actually Dong Guoqiang trapped under the bike. By so bad luck, the bike was pressing on him, and she had been sitting on it.

The air fell into a deathly silence.

After two seconds of silence, Su Xiaoxiao quickly walked over to lift the bike off. "Good morning, Director Dong."

Dong Guoqiang: "..." His whole body ached as if it might fall apart, and he hadn’t recovered at all.

Seeing that he hadn’t got up for a while, Su Xiaoxiao quickly reached out to help him.

However, she seed to have forgotten sothing.

The next mont, a cry of pain rang out again, and Su Xiaoxiao finally rembered what she had forgotten.

She had let go of the bike while helping him up earlier.

Dong Guoqiang was knocked down again by the bike before he could even get up, looking quite miserable.

Feeling a bit guilty, Su Xiaoxiao said, "Director Dong, I’m sorry, let help you up..."

"Wait, I can do it myself!"

While speaking, Dong Guoqiang stubbornly stood up from the ground, albeit limping.

One of his legs was injured, his sleeve was torn, and he had scratches on his face. His ticulously slicked-back hair was now a disheveled ss, making him look very bedraggled.

Feeling even more guilty, Su Xiaoxiao said, "Look what I’ve done... What was it that you wanted to tell just now?"

The commotion almost made Dong Guoqiang forget what he had co for.

Thanks to her reminder, he rembered, "Comrade Xiao Su, the person delivering the sewing machines left in a hurry, and I didn’t see them. Could you help hand over this money to them?"

So, it turned out he was there to give money.

Su Xiaoxiao’s gaze softened instantly as she looked at Dong Guoqiang, "Sure, sure, I’ll definitely help you hand it over."

She counted the money twice and happily pocketed it.

She was really going to make a profit this ti.

Just as she was feeling happy, Dong Guoqiang spoke again, "Comrade Xiao Su, this fifty yuan is a token of my appreciation for helping out with our factory’s urgent need."

"Director Dong, you’re being too polite. Sister Liu and I are friends, helping you is what I should do."

Su Xiaoxiao spoke politely, but in her heart, she was eager for him to give her the money, quickly.

"How can that do? You’ve helped so much. Without you, we definitely wouldn’t have been able to deliver the order on ti. This money is well-deserved."

Dong Guoqiang promptly shoved the money into her hands as if he was afraid she might give it back, then limped away.

What a good man Director Dong is!

She hadn’t expected such a pleasant surprise. She hurriedly put away the money and headed happily toward the departnt store.

Upon reaching the entrance, she saw a long queue.

Su Xiaoxiao was puzzled, "What’s going on here?"

Zhang Yulan happened to walk by, "You didn’t listen to a word of what Mr. Chen said yesterday. There’s a shipnt of dried seafood in the store today, and people have been lining up early."

"Dried seafood?"

Su Xiaoxiao’s eyes lit up. It had been so long since she’d had any dried seafood.

Today, she must grab so to enjoy at ho.

Excitedly, she asked, "Sister Zhang, can you tell what dried seafood they have?"

Zhang Yulan thought for a mont, "I think there are dried squid, dried eel, dried shrimp, and so scallops."

All these items are delicious whether stir-fried or used in soups.

The thought made Su Xiaoxiao’s mouth water uncontrollably. Feeling the money in her pocket, she realized she had just made a good amount today, and she’d buy more.

These items don’t spoil, so stockpiling them might even allow her to sell so in the ga and earn so extra money.

While she was thinking this, Zhang Yulan spoke up, "You better get your money ready. I’ll save so for you."

Zhang Yulan was in charge of the dried seafood, and given her good relationship with Su Xiaoxiao, she would surely save so for her.

But upon hearing this, Su Xiaoxiao’s face imdiately fell, and she turned pitifully to Zhang Yulan, "Sister Zhang, I didn’t bring any grocery tickets."

She hadn’t known there would be dried seafood available, so she hadn’t thought of bringing any grocery tickets.

People would all be working in the fields now, and even if she called the brigade, she figured no one would answer.

Su Xiaoxiao’s face fell instantly—nothing could be more distressing than facing a mountain of delicious food but finding you can’t afford it when you reach for your pocket.

Zhang Yulan took pity on her when she saw her gloomy expression, "Why don’t you borrow so tickets from soone? With so many people, you should gather enough."

As she spoke, she took out a couple of grocery tickets and handed them to Su Xiaoxiao, "Xiaoxiao, my family has many children, and we are short on grocery tickets, so I can only lend you this much."

Su Xiaoxiao was grateful. She knew Zhang Yulan’s family’s situation well; with so many kids at ho, buying too little wouldn’t be enough to go around, so she definitely couldn’t borrow from her.

She couldn’t bear to take food from their kids.

She quickly declined, "No need, Sister Zhang, I..."

Just as she began to speak, she saw Zhang Dongi approaching with a pile of money and grocery tickets, looking cheerful, and she imdiately got an idea.

Zhang Yulan said, "Xiaoxiao, don’t think it’s too little..."

Su Xiaoxiao quickly shook her head, "Sister Zhang, you’ve misunderstood. It’s not that it’s too little, I’ve found soone to borrow grocery tickets from."

As Zhang Dongi passed by the two of them, she leaned in mockingly, "Who would be so foolish to lend you grocery tickets when everyone’s rushing to buy dried seafood?"

Su Xiaoxiao looked toward her, eyes gleaming, focusing on the grocery tickets in her hand.

Suddenly, Zhang Dongi had a bad feeling, and she quickly stepped back, holding her stack of grocery tickets protectively.

"Su Xiaoxiao, you’re not thinking of grabbing my grocery tickets, are you? I’m telling you, no way."

Su Xiaoxiao grinned, "Who said I was going to grab your tickets? I want to borrow, borrow the tickets."

Without a second thought, Zhang Dongi refused imdiately, "Am I crazy to lend you my tickets?"

She looked at Su Xiaoxiao as if she were looking at an idiot.

This annoying girl, even if she begged till the end of ti, Zhang Dongi wasn’t going to lend out any grocery tickets today.

Who knew that just as she thought this, Su Xiaoxiao spoke up with an annoyingly satisfied smile.
