Su Xiaoxiao said, "Just , no others."
Chen ilan said, "You’re a bit different from what I heard."
This piqued Su Xiaoxiao’s curiosity, and she couldn’t help but ask, "Who did you hear about from?"
Chen ilan smiled at her and extended her hand, "Let reintroduce myself, I’m Chen ilan, Wang Lili’s distant cousin."
Upon hearing this, Su Xiaoxiao wasn’t surprised anymore.
What good could she hear from Wang Lili?
Lili must have badmouthed her as much as possible.
Thankfully, Chen ilan didn’t seem to be the sa type as Wang Lili.
She still had a pretty good impression of her.
By noon, the two of them even went to a state-run restaurant for lunch together.
Wang Lili had no idea that despite her efforts to get Chen ilan to help deal with Su Xiaoxiao, Chen ilan not only didn’t comply but actually had a good impression of Su Xiaoxiao.
The two quickly beca good friends within a day.
In the blink of an eye, it was ti to get off work. As Su Xiaoxiao was pushing her bicycle out, she spotted a familiar figure in the distance—it was Wang Lili.
Wang Lili’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile upon seeing her, then she waved at soone behind Su Xiaoxiao, excitedly calling out, "Cousin."
Chen ilan frowned when she saw her, "What are you doing here?"
"I thought it was your first day at work, so I ca to check on you. How’s it going? Did anyone bully you?"
As she spoke, she glanced at Su Xiaoxiao beside her, clearly insinuating sothing.
Chen ilan was about to respond when she saw Su Xiaoxiao pushing her bicycle ahead and quickly took a few steps forward to greet her, "Comrade Su."
Her gaze fell on the huge burlap sack on the bicycle’s back seat, and she froze montarily.
"Comrade Su, what’s this...?"
Su Xiaoxiao, noticing her staring at the sack, smiled and said, "Just helping so aunties from the village bring things into the city, it’s inconvenient for them, and since I’m heading ho, it’s no trouble for ."
Just as she finished speaking, a voice laden with sarcasm interrupted, "Talking about helping others bring things, for all we know you’re pocketing things for yourself, I don’t believe you’re that selfless, carrying things for free."
Wang Lili looked at Su Xiaoxiao with disdain and said to Chen ilan, "Cousin, did you see? This Su Xiaoxiao is a fake and vain woman full of lies."
Just as she finished, Chen ilan’s disapproving voice chid in, "Lili, I don’t think Comrade Su is the kind of person you’re saying she is. You should stop spreading rumors."
After spending a day with Su Xiaoxiao, Chen ilan had a great impression of her.
Her personality was lively and outgoing, and she was warm and beautiful.
There was always a crowd at Su Xiaoxiao’s counter.
If she were a custor, she would certainly prefer to buy from such a shop assistant.
"Cousin, don’t be fooled by this woman, you don’t know, I lost my job at the departnt store because of her, my dad was almost implicated as well."
"Alright, if you’re not here to pick up, let’s hurry back."
As she spoke, Chen ilan waved cheerfully at Su Xiaoxiao, "Comrade Su, see you tomorrow, take care on your way ho."
Su Xiaoxiao said, "Sure, see you tomorrow, you take care too."
After exchanging a few polite words, they separated. Wang Lili was so angry her teeth were grinding; she couldn’t understand why, after saying so many bad things about Su Xiaoxiao to Chen ilan, they got along so well in just a day.
Cousin even spoke up for Su Xiaoxiao.
She was furious but helpless, and could only glare angrily at Su Xiaoxiao’s departing figure.
Elsewhere, Su Xiaoxiao had already cycled to her doorstep and, as she pushed the bike into the yard, she heard the sound of an argunt coming from inside.
It sounded like her two little brothers.
Su Jianwu: "I don’t care, I want to watch Sun Wukong."
Su Jianwen: "You’ve watched it several tis, it’s my turn to listen to storytelling."
Even before entering the house, Su Xiaoxiao frowned again, wondering why they were at it again.
Though they were blood brothers, their personalities couldn’t be more different.
Su Jianwu had a fiery temper, while Su Jianwen was calm and composed, and even their likes were different; when they got along, they were as close as can be, but when they didn’t, they started fighting right away.
Sure enough, the sound of scuffling quickly ca from inside, indicating a fight, and Su Xiaoxiao swiftly stepped in, grabbing each by the collar, and forcefully pulled them apart.
Su Xiaoxiao said, "Alright, stop it now, you watch storytelling for half an hour, then you watch Journey to the West for half an hour, is that fair?"
Su Jianwu protested, "Why should he watch first? I’m younger, he should let go first."
Su Jianwen: "You’ve watched several episodes already; it’s my turn now."
Just as it seed they would start arguing again, Su Xiaoxiao pressed her fingers to her brow and directly walked over and turned off the TV with a snap.
Su Jianwu wailed, "Third Sister, Sun Wukong is about to defeat the White Bone Demon, can you let finish this part?"
Su Jianwen also grimaced, "Third Sister, I haven’t even started the storytelling yet, can you let hear a bit?"
Su Xiaoxiao was about to speak when there was a knock on the door.
Second Aunt Chen Guifang’s voice sounded from outside, "Open the door, sister-in-law, it’s ."
Upon hearing her voice, all three looked towards the courtyard gate in unison, "Why is she here?"
Liu Cuilan, for so reason, hadn’t returned from work at this hour.
So Su Xiaoxiao walked over and opened the gate a crack, looking coldly at Chen Guifang standing at the door, "My mom’s not ho, if you have sothing to say, say it here."
Seeing she had no intention of inviting her in, Chen Guifang’s face turned displeased, "Xiaoxiao, I’m still your Second Aunt after all. It’s one thing not to treat an elder properly when they co to your door, but not even letting in?"
Su Xiaoxiao stared at her coldly, "Sorry, we’ve cut ties, so you don’t count as my elder anymore."
Chen Guifang’s forehead veins throbbed, but rembering the purpose of her visit, she forcibly suppressed her anger.
"Alright, it doesn’t matter if your mom’s not ho, I need to see your grandma, let in."
Looking for Wang Chunhua? What nonsense are they up to this ti?
Without thinking, she refused, "Sorry, it’s not convenient."
Chen Guifang couldn’t hold back any longer, "What do you an by this, you brat? Even if we’ve cut ties, as an elder visiting, you should at least invite in to sit by default."
Just as she finished, a voice full of sarcasm ca from behind her.
"Back when Xiaoxiao’s dad passed away, how did you guys react? Where do you get the nerve to expect an invitation now?"
