Chapter 81: Chapter 081 Hurry Up_1

Just past the farrs market is where cars are parked. There’s no proper bus station in town, just a designated spot. People from ten miles around who needed to go to the county town or another town would wait here for a ride.

The fare for a trip to the county town was eight RMB, quite a reasonable price.

Nan Fei had arrived early, and while waiting on the side of the road for a car, she could see the rouge red bricks of the Huo’s compound not too far away. They stood out substantially.

Images of Huo Jinlan’s gaze from yesterday flashed across her mind, and Nan Fei simply couldn’t stop worrying about her. She decided to visit Granny Huo before leaving, to remind her of the risks.

It would at least be helpful for her ntal preparation.

Old people’s bodies couldn’t perform as well as young people’s, and there’s an increased risk of fatal injury if they accidentally fell from a push.

...

Arriving at the gate of the Huo family compound, she knocked and saw it was Yuan Xue Shan.

One stood inside the gate, the other outside, and it was awkward from the start.

The air froze for a minute.

When Nan Fei decided to co here, she had been prepared for ridicule and was ready to be chased away. Therefore, she pretended not to notice the sullen look on Yuan Xue Shan’s face.

In the past life, she had seen it all too many tis.

“Aunt Yuan, I’d like to see Granny Huo. Is she ho?” Nan Fei broke the silence, speaking politely.

Yuan Xue Shan finally snapped out of her daze. Rembering the humiliating scene from yesterday, she narrowed her eyes and unconsciously wanted to close the door.

“Wait a mont!” Nan Fei responded faster and put her hand out to stop the door from closing. “I need to talk to Granny Huo. I’ll leave as soon as we’re done.”

“Who asked you to co?” Yuan Xue Shan managed to restrain herself from behaving like a shrew, but her temper flared on seeing Jiang Nan Fei. She despised Nan Fei’s thick-skinned audacity. After creating such a scene the other day, she had the nerve to show up at the door.

“You’re not welco here. Get out!” Yuan Xue Shan snapped quietly, “I warn you, don’t overstep. The engagent is already off, what face do you have to co back here?”

“I know that I’m not welco here, but could you call Granny Huo for ?”

“Do you want to continue tricking my mother-in-law? Hmph! You may have fooled her, but you can’t fool .”

Looking at Yuan Xue Shan, Nan Fei felt a bit sympathetic. Seeing her was like seeing her past self. Deluded to think that they were in control, but in fact, were just being played.

Only after a harsh downfall, you’d realize how foolish you’ve been.

Yuan Xue Shan was unnerved by Nan Fei’s stare, “What are you looking at like that for?”

“Aunt Yuan, what do you think of Huo Jinlan?” She asked politely.

“Of course, she’s gentle and kind. Even though you bullied her, she still spoke up for you.” Yuan Xue Shan glared at her, briefly losing her patience again. “Get away, leave! Seeing you standing outside our house irritates . Never show up here again. Do you hear ?”

“Oh, Aunt Yuan!” Nan Fei’s smile beca even sweeter, her unique grace and charm radiating even though she was dressed simply, yet she had a striking beauty.

Like an exquisitely vivid ink painting or a fluid ink wash painting, the dawn sunlight seed to pale in comparison to her smile.

Yuan Xue Shan was montarily dazed by her, but once she regained her senses, she felt a pang of regret.

Strange! How did she never notice that this girl was so pretty? Could Bei Jiang really bear to let her go? What if he couldn’t?

She began to worry, what if Bei Jiang ca back and refused to call off the engagent? How would she explain then?

Did she act too impulsively before?

However, before she could regret her actions, Nan Fei’s next words almost made her faint from anger.
