Chapter 694: Chapter 693: Find Huo Linong_1 Chapter 694: Chapter 693: Find Huo Linong_1 When he ca out of the building, Lu Jin was already waiting for him outside, with the car parked not far away.

“Boss!” Lu Jin happily greeted, “I’ve got so good news. Ning Di and his n have found Principal Huo and there has been a gunfight. It sounds really exciting.” He regretted missing out on this thrilling exchange of gunfire.

“A gunfight? In the Imperial City?” Huo Beijiang’s handso face darkened a bit, “He sure has the guts. Does he think we’re not high-profile enough already?”

“Um…” Lu Jin deliberated on how to answer without provoking his boss’s anger and stuttered, “Yes, in the Imperial City… in the outskirts, yes, the outskirts.” As long as it wasn’t held in the city center, it should be considered the outskirts, right?

“Haha… I’m not falling for that. Where are they? Are they safe? Where have they been taken?”

“They’re safe, we made sure Principal Huo wasn’t hurt. We’ve brought them to our division,” Lu reassured.

“Great!” Huo Beijiang’s handso face finally broke into a smile, “Good news indeed cos in pairs.”

“Eh? Boss, did sothing else good happen?”

“Your mother-in-law is here.”

Lu Jin scratched his head, imdiately realizing that the boss was referring to Jiang Nanfei, and felt happy for his boss.

“So, should we go to the train station to pick her up?”

“No need!” Huo Beijiang gritted his teeth at the ntion of it. Well, that’s lovely! She’s beco clever, skirting around the topic. No wonder he felt like he had forgotten sothing; he had forgotten to settle so scores with his wife!

“Boss? Shall we head back now?”

“Let’s go!”

The 36th Division, where Huo Beijiang resided, was about an hour’s drive from the military base – or forty minutes if you drove fast. Huo Linong had been brought here by Ning Di.

When they arrived, it was just in ti for dinner.

The family quarters were quite large; Huo Beijiang lived in the frontmost house, a two-story building with its own small front yard. As he and Lu Jin approached the front gate, he kicked the door open, startling Huo Linong who was eating in the yard and causing him to nearly drop his bowl.

“Why are you making such a ruckus?” Huo Linong complained with a calm facade, “So rude, you might scare off prospective brides.”

Though he tried hard to maintain his composure, his hands shook uncontrollably and he was close to spilling his porridge. His eyes, filled with unresolved heartache, aged rapidly as he caught sight of Huo Beijiang.

In just one year, his son had changed a great deal.

Seeing the state Huo Linong was in, Huo Beijiang’s handso face darkened instantaneously, his penetrating gaze filled with a brewing storm.

Huo Linong had suffered a great deal over the past few months. No traces of the refined scholar he once was could be seen now. He looked pale and emaciated, a sight that was both shocking and pitiful. Huo Beijiang had to make a conscious effort to keep his composure, to prevent himself from losing his temper under such circumstances.

It was obvious that his father had been through hardship during his disappearance, and he didn’t want to frighten him any further.

“Humph! Don’t worry about my marital affairs,” Huo Beijiang said, suppressing all his emotions. He took off his military hat and tossed it to Lu Jin. As he strode towards Huo Linong, he began to undo the buttons of his uniform.

Huo Linong flinched and hastily placed his bowl on the small table, retreating.

“What are you thinking, you brat? I must remind you, it’s immoral to hit your father.”

Huo Beijiang paused, his hand stopping on the third button, revealing his fine collarbone and muscle lines.

“When did I say I was going to hit you?”

“If you’re not undressing to hit , are you planning on molesting ?”

PS: I’m sorry, but I’m still stuck in the pain of writer’s block, how miserable!
