Chapter 1997: Chapter 2016: A Traitor Erges (Part 3)

“Shut up.”

Huo Zhenchuan was about to speak, but was cut off quickly, “Don’t say a word.”

Aunt glared fiercely at Huo Beijiang. Usually, she’s so good-natured and never loses her temper, so when she suddenly gets angry, it’s pretty scary. The two of them imdiately backed off.

Aunt strode over to the cabinet, picked up the phone, and realized it wasn’t working. She checked and found that the phone line had been unplugged. She shot another fierce look at the culprit, plugged the line back in, and imdiately dialed the security office.

Aunt said with full authority, “Let them in. That’s my order. Get that little rascal, Ke Wei, here imdiately.” She just knew that rascal was up to no good because he hadn’t shown up until now.

Nan Fei stifled a laugh, hahaha… No matter how ticulous Beijiang thought his plan was, who would’ve thought it would be sabotaged by his own people. Who could have imagined that Yu Fengji had such an amazing assistant; no wonder he’s dubbed the nation’s son-in-law.

Huo Beijiang’s handso face looked grim. He complained in a low voice, “Uncle, look at you. Can’t you manage your wife better? How can you let her drag us down at such a critical mont? Even if we’re very capable, we can’t handle a traitor within our own ranks!”

Huo Zhenchuan’s expression was subtle as he replied softly, “How was I supposed to know? It’s infuriating.”

Huo Beijiang arrogantly raised his eyebrows, “It’s your own lack of skill. Look at my wife, she’s different, smart and sensible, always gives , her husband, face in public. At tis like these, she stands by firmly, encourages , supports …”

“Stop, stop, stop…” Huo Zhenchuan couldn’t take it anymore and interrupted, “That’s quite enough! Don’t you realize what kind of reputation you have? You’re not embarrassed to say that out loud?” His reputation as “henpecked” was well-known across the four major military districts.

He felt ashad. He initially wanted to have a heart-to-heart talk with his nephew, but his wife talked him out of it. After all, Jiang Nanfei can manage the Special Action Departnt impeccably; she must have so skills, right?

So it’s only normal for his nephew to be “henpecked.”

In less than ten minutes, a group of people ca in. Leading them were Yu Fengji and Fu Xinwu, with Huo Kewei and Lu Jin following behind, looking dejected and very guilty.

Aunt excitedly went to greet them, had the housekeeper make food, and personally poured tea. In short, she couldn’t be more satisfied with this grandson-in-law. Mrs. Yu praised Xinwu in every way, making the atmosphere in the living room very lively.

The formal eting between the two families began, and Nan Fei joined in as the little aunt, with Huo Linong also showing great respect. Yu Fengji was polite and sincere, considerate in every way. He carried a whole lot of nutritional products, gifts, fruits, and alcohol, jokingly teased by his old man that he might as well have moved his entire house.

Only Huo Beijiang, Huo Kewei, and Huo Zhenchuan, the three generations, were huddled together like defeated roosters, dejected. They sat together like outsiders, looking pitiful.

Huo Kewei said aggrievedly, “There’s nothing I could do, Grandma gave the order personally, and the people in the reception office wouldn’t dare disobey. I didn’t dare either.” As he spoke, he tugged gently on Beijiang’s sleeve, apologizing, “I’m sorry, Uncle, I’m just useless.”

“This is not your fault,” Huo Beijiang said clearly, addressing the issue directly, “If anyone’s to bla, it’s your grandpa; it’s his inability to manage his wife that allowed a traitor within our ranks.”

So Huo Kewei imdiately glared at his grandpa with a super fierce look.
