Capítulo 1928: Chapter 1946: A Good Girl (Part 3)

Tu Lou shook his head disapprovingly, “Bei Jiang is really too much. You’re sick and in the hospital, yet he still goes out.”

Tu Cheng seized the opportunity to add fuel to the fire, “I’ve said all along, he’s no good. I told you to break ties with him, but you won’t listen.”

Nan Fei covered her mouth and giggled, rembering how her brother Tu Cheng and Bei Jiang didn’t get along in her previous life, yet her younger brother was particularly close to Bei Jiang. Every ti they clashed, her younger brother always sided with Bei Jiang, driving her brother half mad.

Yet her brother was so protective of his sibling, even when infuriated, he always ended up compromising because of his younger brother.

The dynamics between these two brothers were incredibly amusing, leaving a deeply ingrained mory in Nan Fei, hard to forget.

“Actually, it’s not like that.” Nan Fei spoke out to clear Bei Jiang’s na, “Bei Jiang has already moved into the hospital to stay, and he spends all the ti he can to accompany .”

Tu Lou listened and his eyes sparkled with delight, “I’ve said all along that Bei Jiang isn’t like that, but you didn’t believe .”

Tu Cheng felt like spitting blood but managed to hold it in.

“Well, sister-in-law, take care and rest well. We won’t disturb you any longer; we’ll be going now.” Not being very acquainted with Nan Fei, they didn’t have much to say, so they sat briefly and then got up to leave.

Nan Fei’s eyes had fully recovered, allowing her to move freely around. She personally escorted them to the floor of the inpatient departnt and watched as the brothers got into their car before retracting her gaze. Today’s weather was lovely, gradually becoming hot, with people at the hospital donning lighter clothing.

Nan Fei didn’t return upstairs. Instead, she found a long bench in the small park of the inpatient departnt to sit and sunbathe.

“Jiang Nanfei!” A familiar voice ca from behind the bench.

Nan Fei turned her head to look at Ji Changfeng sitting on the bench behind her. In the short period they hadn’t seen each other, Ji Changfeng had changed so much she almost didn’t recognize him. His fra was noticeably more slender, with a beard on his chin, making him look at least five years older than before.

“Director Ji?” She raised an eyebrow, surprisingly not startled.

The bench was made of two sections placed back-to-back. Originally, she knew soone was sitting behind her when she approached, but she hadn’t expected it to be Ji Changfeng. The Special Action Departnt should be amidst a stormy period now, yet Ji Changfeng managed to co looking for her?

“I really have no mood to co find you.” Ji Changfeng smiled bitterly, as if seeing through her thoughts: “But not coming wasn’t an option; Huo Beijiang has this hospital locked down like a fortress. eting you is not easy, even for .”

“But you still made it in,” Nan Fei said candidly.

“Yes! I ca in while others visited patients. As you know, as long as the Special Action Departnt is operational, ordinary places can’t stop .”

Ji Changfeng teased, “By the way, you two have been the talk of the Imperial City for the past half month. Now anyone who hasn’t co to see you would be embarrassed to claim they’re mixing well.”

Nan Fei looked puzzled.

“Today even the Tu Family brothers ca. I suspect starting from tomorrow, young officers from the Southeast Military Region will begin visiting based on a private rotation schedule.”

“…” There’s really a rotation schedule?

“Surprised, aren’t you?” Ji Changfeng said with a smile: “Many previously thought the Huo Family was done for after Elder Leader Huo’s passing, believing Huo Beijiang, without backing, had beco insignificant. Now everyone is proven wrong, including .”

He himself had once entertained such thoughts, though it wasn’t out of disdain or contempt. It was commonly recognized that the Huo Family was no longer influential. But now? With so many comrades visiting post-suspension, Huo Beijiang demonstrated he still stood strong.
