Yu Fengji slightly raised his eyebrows and turned left with his people upon reaching the upstairs, "No wonder! No wonder the Shi Family is so cooperative with us, the police, eager to convict Shi Ying imdiately. Turns out they’re afraid of Huo Beijiang coming back."

Everyone: "..."

After Nan Fei helped handle the clues in the Jiang ili family murder case, she followed Yu Fengji to see Zhuanzhuan. This was her first visit since Zhuanzhuan was captured. Zhuanzhuan had asked many tis before, requesting her to visit, but Nan Fei never ca.

This ti, Zhuanzhuan didn’t ask anymore, yet Nan Fei ca.

As they sat face to face in the interrogation room, Nan Fei couldn’t quite put her finger on how she felt. Hatred? No, she couldn’t hate anymore after learning about Zhuanzhuan’s childhood experiences. But even without hatred, she couldn’t bring herself to like her, nor could she forget the harm Zhuanzhuan had once caused her.

Nan Fei clasped her hands on the table, her eyes closed, trying to understand her current complicated feelings. This was probably a sense of vindication! Though she couldn’t muster any hatred, she found herself feeling strangely satisfied.

The taste Zhuanzhuan was experiencing now was sothing she had tasted countless tis in her previous life.

Zhuanzhuan, dressed in prison clothes, her hair cut short and her figure pale and thin, as if all her spirit had been drained away, was originally sitting dazed on the chair. But when she found out it was Nan Fei who entered, her eyes suddenly burst with astonishing brightness.

Even Yu Fengji and another officer following in were startled, vaguely sensing that the truth behind Jiang ili’s family murder case might soon co to light.

Jiang Zhuanzhuan stared intently at Nan Fei, her gaze so intense that it was impossible to ignore even if one were blind.

A hint of doubt erged in Nan Fei’s mind; Zhuanzhuan’s reaction was completely different from what she had expected, and it felt off.

"Commander Yu, can I speak alone with my sister?" Zhuanzhuan turned her head to look at Yu Fengji, assuring him, "I definitely won’t escape this ti, and I can’t beat my sister anyway. I’m just a defeated soldier in front of her. I promise I will behave."

"Do you think you can still escape?" Yu Fengji’s voice was cold as ice, looking at Jiang Zhuanzhuan with eyes full of disdain and restrained calmness.

"I never thought so!" Jiang Zhuanzhuan replied innocently, "I can see the reality." This escape attempt was too rushed, without any preparation in advance, so being caught wasn’t surprising.

Moreover, she didn’t want to escape anymore. Being locked up for life seed just fine.

"Let talk to her alone." Nan Fei spoke.

"Alright! Call for if you need anything." Yu Fengji said before turning to leave.

Nan Fei relaxed her tense body and leaned back on the chair, her lowered lashes long and dense. "You seem very sad, yet not sad at all." There was a hint of doubt in Nan Fei’s tone; she was a bit frustrated with her own blindness, unable to closely observe the subtle expressions and gaze of people; otherwise, she wouldn’t feel so passive.

"Indeed!" Zhuanzhuan mocked with a smile. "I... I didn’t expect myself to know what sadness is. I thought all my sadness, joy, and emotion were long gone since I was a child."

After speaking, she suddenly lowered her voice, "Sister, do you know? I’ve had a great mory since I was very young, and I’m smarter than you; I know everything that happened in our childhood."

Nan Fei gasped, "The entire Jiang ili family was wiped out." She said flatly, "What more do you want? The past misfortunes have happened; I can’t change it, and I don’t even know how to speak to you. Apologize? Say I’m sorry? That’s impossible, and it wouldn’t an anything either."
