"I’ll go check if lunch is ready." Huo Beijiang got up and went out, spotting Lu Jin talking to soone in the distance and gestured for him to co over.
"Boss!"
Lu Jin hurried over. Huo Beijiang’s handso face was serious, with a sharpness in his eyes and brows. He whispered a few words to Lu Jin, who gradually turned pale and quickly nodded before leaving.
"Bei Jiang, what are you doing?" Nan Fei seed to have overheard soone whispering, and they ntioned Emil, giving her a sense of foreboding. "What are you going to do to Emil?"
Huo Beijiang sighed inwardly, realizing Nan Fei’s hearing was even better than he had expected.
"Nothing! Just told Lu Jin to keep an eye on things and not to be careless." Huo Beijiang turned back, gently ruffling Nan Fei’s hair to comfort her. "Don’t worry! I won’t do anything to that kid."
Just going to lock him up!
Since this little brat doesn’t want to behave, he might as well teach him a lesson.
"Really?" Nan Fei was a bit worried. "He’s just a child, only five years old. You can’t overreact and cross the line."
Huo Beijiang chuckled, "Honey, is that how you see , soone so lacking in virtue?" Honestly, if that little brat wasn’t so young, he wouldn’t hold back.
Nan Fei hesitated for a mont seeing Huo Beijiang’s mixed expression of laughter and anger. "Honey, is that really how you view ? How can you think of like that? It’s so disappointing."
"This is an unrestrained world." Nan Fei’s words were clear and crisp, evidently well-considered. "And you have absolute power here. I think not just , but even the senior leaders from the military are probably worried, right?"
Huo Beijiang was taken aback; he hadn’t expected Nan Fei to think so deeply. What she said was quite correct. The veteran leaders in the military feared nothing, except that he’d lose himself in Kannaya.
Would he?
Huo Beijiang didn’t even need to think to know he wouldn’t, absolutely wouldn’t. No matter how high a position or much power he had in Kannaya, it wasn’t what he truly wanted. He ca from a revolutionary family, and his education and ideology since childhood clashed with this place.
Moreover, with Nan Fei waiting for him at ho, he certainly wouldn’t make mistakes.
"I won’t!" Huo Beijiang’s tone was resolute. "Honey, rest assured! As long as you’re waiting for at ho, I’ll never make a mistake."
He then added, seemingly offhand, "So you must wait for at ho!" and then he laughed first.
Nan Fei felt her heart struck suddenly at this mont. She realized that Bei Jiang, while seemingly joking, was very serious—extrely serious, not joking at all.
If she weren’t there, who knows what he might do. This made her think of their past life. In their past life, he also went on a mission at this ti. Back then, their relationship was strained; she never cared about where he went for his missions.
So she never knew the dangers he faced, the blows and trials he encountered. She... she was only focused on insisting on a divorce, and this realization left Nan Fei feeling truly uneasy.
She suddenly hugged Huo Beijiang tightly, pressing her cheek against his chest, snuggling intimately.
Huo Beijiang was stunned, followed by overwhelming happiness. He even trembled slightly as he hugged Nan Fei back. A satisfied smile involuntarily curled at his lips. His wife was truly wonderful!
